In just three years, Jordy van Egmond aka Dyro has come represent far more than a mere Hardwell protege, but a force to be reckoned with in a crowded fight for the big room market.

Following an initial high-octane run of releases and live landmarks throughout the year so far, the Revealed recordings star is upping the stakes now with the announcement of his own musical imprint, WOLV.

With it’s debut single set to drop on August 11, the announcement sees the young Dutch talent take the reigns of an additional output for his studio work, one that spells a considerable step-up for the fast ascending producer.  “For me this is about creative control,” explains Jordy. I’ve been so lucky to have the support of Robbert [Hardwell] and Revealed so far, but as you grow as an artist and start to find your own rhythm it just makes sense to take the reigns and have something personal to your name. I think people realize that my sound is very much my own. WOLV is all about tapping into that identity and bringing likeminded people along for the ride.”

While, still set to release through Revealed Recordings, WOLV looks to be a permanent addition to the young producer’s release schedule. Quoting a time in which it has never been harder for young artists to gain an entry point in the hustle and bustle of the global industry, he points to a mass of talent under the radar that, in reality, labels simply cannot begin to cater for. This talent, he suggests, is to be a point of focus for WOLV and its forward movements.

“I had some kids approach me at Paradiso in Amsterdam last week and they were desperate to give me their CD. When I got home and finally had a chance to listen to it I was blown away, so much so that I played the track at Tomorrowland. It would have been too easy to forget or simply not listen to it. The problem is that music is kind of disposable. I’m not there yet, but one day I hope to be able to help talented people get their foot in the door and create the momentum towards a career. I see a label as a place where likeminded talents can grow together.”

With its first few releases locked in and set to balance a run of new and established hard-hitting talents from across the globe, WOLV’s first single will set the tone for what could be one of the most important chapters in Dyro’s career to date.
