Australia’s favourite electronic dance festival Stereosonic will be taking a year off in 2016, with the event organisers issuing an official statement early this morning.

Stereosonic’s parent company SFX have confirmed that the festival “will not return” in 2016. An SFX representative confirmed reports with inthemix that Australian’s won’t see the dance festival this summer, but the festival isn’t gone for good.

Stereosonic first kicked off back in 2007 in Melbourne and has since expanded to a national touring festival. Stereosonic has seen a range of the world’s leading artists grace Australian shores including Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5, Tiesto Carl Cox, Calvin Harris, Skrillex and more.

Stereosonic has released an official statement via their Facebook page which can be seen below.
