With Ultra Music Festival rapidly approaching, travelers from across the globe will descend into Downtown Miami for three days of incredible music and experiences. Ultra Miami’s 2017 lineup provides more artist variety than ever, but with so many great artists performing, trying to decide who you should see can be an absolute headache. To assist you in your planning here are OZ EDM’s 10 most most anticipated performances to see at Ultra Miami this year.

10. Armin van Buuren


Armin van Buuren needs no introduction to the Ultra Music Festival. The multiple DJ Mag Top 100 winner and trance pioneer will return to Miami this weekend for two special appearances at Ultra Music Festival. Armin will take to the Ultra mainstage on Friday with a 1-hour set and close out the festival on Sunday with a special 2-hour set at the A State of Trance stage (megastructure).

Armin will be bringing an all-star A State of Trance lineup to Ultra this Sunday and has decided to close the festival out in style. Expect a fast and uplifting 2 hour journey with the dutchman and for trance fans around the globe, the entire A State of Trance stage will be broadcasted all day for your trance fix.

She’s the artist everyone’s been talking about. Mau5trap signee Isabelle Rezazadeh aka Rezz has drawn worldwide attention over the last year for her dark, glitchy sound that has drawn comparisons to the likes of Gesaffelstein and Deadmau5. Dubbed as one of our artists to watch in 2017, Rezz will be making her Ultra Miami debut this year with a sunset performance on the Ultra Worldwide stage. Expect bass and lots of it!

08. Ice Cube

Continuing our must-see acts at Ultra this weekend is none other than Ice Cube. The hip-hop booking for Ultra see’s the legendary performer take to the live stage on Saturday night in-between Cypress Hill and Chase & Status.

We know you might be overwhelmed with the sheer awesomeness of the live stage lineup for Ultra 2017, but we felt we had to share this is a set not to be missed.

Ultra will be joining just a handful of tour dates for Ice Cube in 2017 and the legend has been rumoured to churn through a greatest hits setlist, with some special surprises. If you’re a fan of fat beats and the best rhymes, Ice Cube may just be your highlight of the entire festival.

07. BT

He’s a name that’s been synonymous with electronic music for over twenty years and in 2017, BT will be gracing the Ultra Music Festival main stage for a special performance.

The iconic producer and composer has had a busy 2016/17 crafting out a ton of new music, working on everything from film scores to his brand new and tenth studio album.

With a Sunday Mainstage appearances that’s overshadowed by the likes of Hardwell, David Guetta and closing act DJ Snake, BT’s comfortable 2.10pm time slot will be hard to miss. Expect a fresh energetic set from the legend, as well as some timeless hits and singalongs.

06. Adam Beyer

The Drum Code boss himself will be returning to Ultra Miami and is just as powerful as ever. Adam Beyer has rightfully claimed his stake as one of techno’s reigning kings. The Swedish DJ not only boasts an undeniable ear for picking big records, but also happens to be one of the more seasoned performers in an increasingly more competitive underground space. His DJ sets are always highly anticipated and with the Resistance sound system at his disposal, Beyer’s set from Ultra is not to be missed.

05. NWYR

WHERE: A State of Trance
WHEN: 08:00pm

Earlier this year W&W announced their new side project, NWYR (pronounced New Year) explaining that this project will be their return to trance after several years of big room production under the W&W moniker. While little else is known about the project at this time, the duo have collaborated with fellow Dutchman Armin Van Buuren on a self titled single as well as their remix of Ed Sheeran’s “Castle on the Hill.” The duo will be gracing the megastructure on Sunday with an 8pm time slot for A State of Trance. While there’s been mixed feelings about the duos return to trance, a big turnout will be anticipated for NWYR’s debut world performance.

04. Malaa

Malaa first saw worldwide attention during during Ultra’s live stream in 2016. The balaclava-clad affiliate of the Pardon My French collective, is known for his energetic G-house productions and mixes. While jokes have been made, comparing him to Skrillex or DJ Snake, the important fact remains that he is a force to be reckoned with, and one that certainly shouldn’t be missed at Ultra 2017. After a stellar year with performances at some of the worlds biggest clubs and festivals, Malaa will be bringing his A-Game to the Worldwide stage this Sunday, expect a big crowd!

03. Underworld

For longtime electronic music fans, Underworld needs no introduction.

But for the readers that are new to the EDM scene, here goes: The British duo – consisting of charismatic singer and frontman Karl Hyde and producer Rick Smith – has blessed us with some of the greatest anthems of all time over the past 23 years, including “Dark & Long,” “Bird 1,” “Pearl’s Girl,” “Jumbo,” “Scribble,” “Two Months Off” and, of course, “Born Slippy,” which provided the soundtrack to one of the more memorable moments of the groundbreaking 1996 film “Trainspotting.”

With their last appearance at Ultra in 2007, a Sasha & John Digweed reunion certainly saw fans across the globe smiling when the news broke they would be playing together at Ultra 2017. The legendary duo have finally reunited after a decade absence and with the expansion of Ultra’s Resistance concept. For any progressive house fan, Sasha & Digweed’s two hour set at 8:00pm on Saturday under the Megastructure will be a memory that will last a lifetime.

01. Justice

One of the most iconic acts in dance music, Justice are embarking on their “Live! Woman World Tour” in support of their newest album Woman. The French duo are making one of their only United States appearances at Ultra Miami and what better way than to close out the Live Stage on the final day. With their last Ultra performance back in 2012, fans worldwide rejoiced when the news broke that they will be returning with their all-new live show. The opportunity to see Justice is rare and because of this, it is sure to draw one of the biggest crowds at Ultra this year.
