The UK-based veteran constructs a pair of nostalgia-laced techno weapons for his label debut on Factory 93.

Southampton’s venerated producer Alan Fitzpatrick washes over with nostalgia on his new double-sided single ‘Stronger / Chant,’ serving as his label debut on the burgeoning Factory 93 imprint.

A universally respected and in-demand producer, Alan Fitzpatrick has succeeded in carving out his own musical niche within the ever-expanding genre of techno, earning him the reputation of a seemingly unstoppable source of hit music. This ability is on full display on his debut appearance with Factory 93 Records, ‘Stronger / Chant.’

“Stronger” kicks off with hard and crispy drums before a well-timed backspin effect gives way to a piano-and breaks-combo that will transport clubbers back to 1992. As the kick comes barreling back in, chopped-up diva vocals soar through the mix before everything cuts out to unleash a flurry of rave stabs. The track absorbs all the best elements of classic rave into a peak-time techno mind-melter.

“This track was born during the early lockdown stages of covid,” says Alan Fitzpatrick. “I was just reminiscing on the good old days and memories of early rave culture.” says Alan Fitzpatrick. “Nostalgia crept in a lot during this time, and I wanted to express that through the frustration of uncertainty around touring.”

“Chant” is a more straight-ahead warehouse workout with its relentless beats and chunky low-end. Ethereal vocals and pads give the track an eerie tinge as it develops, with skittering hats and claps twisting through the mix to add to its driving intensity.

“A nod to the tribal techno vibes of the ‘90s and early noughties; I really love the energy in this track, and I think it’s a great pairing with ‘Stronger’ due to the fact they are very different,” he adds. “Both are packed with energy and I’m excited to share them with the world.”

Alan Fitzpatrick has been pushing the underground culture ever-forward for more than a decade and counting, and his debut release on Factory 93 honors his roots in the best way imaginable.

Alan Fitzpatrick’s new release ‘Stronger / Chant’ is available on all platforms via Factory 93 Records.

    • Armin van Buuren and HI-LO collab on ‘Now Love Will Begin’ armin-van-buuren-hilo-feature-oz-edm

Trance icon Armin van Buuren and techno virtuoso HI-LO join forces on one of 2024’s most exciting collaborationss. Introducing ‘Now Love Will Begin,’ the genre-bending collaboration between trance icon Armin van Buuren and techno virtuoso HI-LO. Premiered on “A State of Trance” and a standout track included in Armin van Buuren and HI-LO’s much-talked-about B2B set at A State of Trance Rotterdam,  ’Now Love Will Begin’ is a groundbreaking fusion of techno’s pulsating rhythms and trance’s euphoric melodies. The song takes listeners on an exhilarating journey through the realms of both genres, igniting dance floors and hearts alike. “HI-LO (Oliver Heldens) and I just click so well. It was apparent during our back-to-back live set at A State of Trance in Rotterdam, and many others were able to see it as well when we connected on stage again in Miami during the Ultra Music Festival. I’m so happy that this natural flow between us extends to our studio work as well. We’re both so passionate about dance music, and I’m having such a great time being producer-nerdy in the studio with him. ‘Now Love Will Begin’ is what came out of it, and I’m so excited for the world to hear what we cooked up together!,” Van Buuren says. “In the last half a year, it’s been awesome working with Armin on several collabs and preparing for our b2b sets. Probably the highlight so far was when all of that came together during our b2b at A State of Trance Rotterdam, and even though the b2b set at A State of Trance Miami didn’t happen in the end due to severe weather conditions, we still had a lot of fun preparing for that set, and in general, it’s been lovely to connect on a deeper level. Our first collab, ‘Now Love Will Begin,’ definitely captures that spirit; I think it’s a meaningful banger of a tune that crosses boundaries, uniting the worlds of techno, uplifting trance, and psy-trance. Enjoy! :),” HI-LO adds. Get ready to experience the ultimate union of techno and trance, where love and music intertwine to create pure sonic ecstasy.

    • ARTBAT Release ‘Take Off’ Debut Collab With Armin van Buuren armin-artbat

Electronic Powerhouse ARTBAT Enlist Trance Pioneer Armin van Buuren for Debut Collaboration ‘Take Off.’ Sparked by a chat backstage at Armin van Buuren’s flagship trance festival, A State of Trance, back in 2023, electronic music powerhouse duo ARTBAT have teamed up with the trance pioneer for a trance-meets-techno collaboration: ‘Take Off,’ released today on Armada Music. Merging the pulsating bassline and rolling rhythm, characteristic of an ARTBAT production, with Armin van Buuren’s signature trance builds, melodic chords, and driving bass, ‘Take Off’ skillfully infuses the Ukrainian pair’s distinctive output with the Dutchman’s expertise, resulting in a fresh and dynamic cross-genre debut linkup. “Collaborating with Armin van Buuren, who is such a legend in the dance game, has been really special,” ARTBAT says. “We can’t believe this collaboration hasn’t happened before now, and we’re very happy that Armin asked us to do a collaboration, which has brought something so special to our sound. It’s been enjoyable to explore and push the boundaries of both our sounds. It’s an honor to have worked alongside such a groundbreaker in his lane.” “ARTBAT’s exceptional performance at last year’s ‘A State of Trance’ festival sparked immense inspiration in me,” Armin van Buuren adds. “Even though I was deep into album mode and immersed in a sound that is quite different from ‘Take Off,’ their music prompted a lot of ideas. I thought of the ‘Space Case’ concept and how its theme, spoken word, and trancey stabs would chime in with the unique ARTBAT sound. This collaboration feels like it’s been a long time coming, and I’m thrilled it’s now seeing the light of day.”  ‘Take Off’ is available now via Armada Music.
