When its come to creatively streaming their way through lockdown, Cosmic Gate have known few bounds. From New York City’s rooftops to initiating Miami’s balcony raves, where there’s been a Cosmic will, there’s been a Cosmic way.

In October though, Nic & Bossi will go beyond the simply groundbreaking to take premium-livestreaming to its zenith. Cosmic Gate will perform two concerts from Miami’s The Temple House dream-factory – a place where the only real limitation is the artist’s imagination. Globally recognised and award winning for its 360-degree projection mapping, the venue will host the concerts in their digital environment, delivering shows the exact likes of which have never been seen before.

On Saturday October 3rd, Cosmic Gate will perform For Your Mind – a two-hour concert, backed – or more accurately mapped – by retina wowing, purpose-created visuals. Featuring a wealth of new and exclusive CG-composed music, each track will be accompanied by its own thematic take-you-there graphics. Music featured will include new Cosmic Gate & Andrew Bayer collab ‘The Launch’, as well as the CG remixes of Andrew Rayel’s new single ‘Everything Everything’ and their exceptional take on Joe Smooth’s endlessly hope-filled ‘Promised Land’. Also playing their part will be recent Cosmic Gate releases ‘Universal Love’ & ‘Your Mind’, and the desk-hot latest & greatest from trance music’s highest-achievers. Two weeks later on Saturday October 17th Nic & Bossi will be back with their second concert The Classics (more details of which will follow). You can check out this amazing teaser video and catch a glimpse of what’s in store here!

Living in different cities and unable to meet during lockdown has been a surreal experience for two artists accustomed to spending 50 weeks a year together. The concerts will be the first time Nic & Bossi have spun together in six months, doubtless adding an extra expectation to the performance.

Nic says: “naturally we hold out hope that the current situation doesn’t rule out every event for the rest of 2020. Like many though, we don’t like the way it’s looking”. Bossi continues: “we live to play for our fans and if we have to be creative to do that, that’s what we’re gonna do. So we’re doing two unique events that’ll allow us all to club ‘apart-but-together’ in the absolute mask-free safety, and with the added thrill that we’re going to be able to take you hundreds of ‘places’ we otherwise couldn’t!” Talking about the venue, Nic continues: “The Temple House is a place where – digitally – our wildest ‘wanna-play-there’ dreams come true. So for two Saturdays in early autumn, push back your couch, zoom up the brightness (& volume!) and join us for some shows that’ll bring us together for an experience we’ll never forget!”

Tickets for Cosmic Gate In Concert are $9.99 USD (~$13.70 AUD) for each show or $15.99 USD (~$23.93 AUD) for both events, with limited early bird tickets (at a 20% discount rate) available now through cosmicgate.tixr.com. You can find regional streaming times for the show below, which will also be available to watch/re-watch video-on-demand-style two hours after their first broadcast.

    • Giuseppe Ottaviani Announces New Album Horizons [Part 1] horizons-part-1-giuseppe-ottaviani-oz-edm-feature

In the eyes of fans, Giuseppe Ottaviani has remained the most steadfast producer in the genre. Famed for his resolutely exacting productions, there’s been a long-held perception of him as a ‘known-quantity’. For those prepared to look deeper though, there’s always been another side to the composer, performer, and most recently – through his Masterclass production series. Giuseppe’s been a deft and artful innovator – balancing out that dependability with hidden-in-plain-sight advancements. That characteristic has now been channelled into his ‘Horizons’ project. Giuseppe’s Live 2.0 & 3.0 performances essentially turned clubs into recording studios, in turn beginning the production processes for 2019’s ‘Evolver’ album. Earlier than that even, with 2016’s ‘Alma’, his ‘Slow Emotion’ tracks had already begun playing with the idea of what Giuseppe ‘was’. In tandem, they were essentially laying the foundation blocks for ‘Horizons’. Commenting on this “modification” (as Giuseppe terms it), he observes that “change seems to have become our ‘constant’ of late. As such, I imagine that something of this nature was always going to be reflected in the ‘Horizons’ albums”. What that modification means in real terms is “music produced with less of a clubfloor focus to it. Adaptable, certainly, he suggests, but at this moment in time, not reliant upon.” Ottaviani’s most predominant shift in concentration has been in tone and song. Specifically, that’s meant utilising sounds from outside of his usual remit and a greatly increased emphasis on deeply meaningful and relatable lyrics. Indeed, ‘Horizons’ and ‘Evolver’ hold their own unique symbiosis: ‘Evolver’ being purely instrumental, while ‘Horizons [Part 1]’ is vocal-detailed near enough throughout. That, to no small degree, was due to the prevailing circumstances. Clubs were closed, but singers and songwriters were anything but. This allowed Giuseppe all the time necessary to pinpoint the voices that would work best with the music he was producing and rally them to its cause. With the artistic taps wide-open, ‘Horizons’ productions became an outpour. To such a degree in fact, that it quickly spilled the banks of the conventional album and was divided, naturally enough, into two. Through its advance-word singles, ‘Horizons [Part 1]’ has already outlined a cooler, deeper, more mindful tone to fans. That – often for the first time – has brought voices well known in other electronic music quarters to trance’s door. Among them have been songstresses like Monika Santucci, April Bender, Mila Josef and Natalie Shay. Giuseppe also draws on deeper tones from vocalists like Jan Burton and Dan Soleil, all of who collectively shape the unique sound of ‘Horizons [Part 1]’. At every opportunity, Giuseppe gently underscores that the two volumes of ‘Horizons’ don’t necessarily represent a permanent change. It’s a vocal yin to ‘Evolver’s instrumental yang, a sonic amendment that chimes more with our current times and an reflection of an artist more adept at adapting than conventional wisdom suggests. Turning to face summer 2022, the first part of ‘Horizons’ – Giuseppe Ottaviani’s new album project, is released on May 20. You can pre-order or save it via this link from today. • MaRLo & Achilles Join Forces For ‘Nothing Is Left’ marlo-nothing-is-left-feature-oz-edm

After being premiered together on stage at MaRLo’s Melbourne Altitude show – ‘Nothing Is Left’ has arrived. Hot off the heels of chart topping hits including ‘This Way’ and ‘This Way,’ MaRLo join forces with Achilles a banging new record with elements of trance and techno that create a stellar production that is sure to stand out in both acts’ discographies. Played by Armin van Buuren in his A State Of Trance radio show, fans noted the track as a stand out of the show. ‘Nothing Is Left’ should be a blueprint for what a tech trance record should sound like. With massive drops, engaging melodies and vibrant sounds – the track is pretty much perfect. The record also showcases sounds and elements from each collaborator, as MaRLo’s signature trance sound is felt during the drop and Achilles’ hard hitting production is a constant throughout the track. Achilles’ is a new talent coming out of Melbourne and has quickly seen support from the likes of Tiesto, W&W, MORTEN, Will Sparks and plenty of other heavyweights. Joining forces with MaRLo for a track of this magnitude is only going to propel the gifted producer even further. • Above & Beyond’s Hit ‘Almost Home’ Gets Remix Treatment From MitiS and Ashibah above-and-beyond-abgt350-stream-feature

Chart topping hit ‘Almost Home’, Above & Beyond and long-term collaborator Justine Suissa receives official remixes from MitiS and Ashibah. Jono, Tony, Paavo, and Justine have been working together since 2000 when they formed the group OceanLab. In 2008, they released their first and only album ‘Sirens Of The Sea’, a record that has gained near-mythical status among trance fans. More recently, Above & Beyond and Justine have collaborated on club hits like ‘Alright Now’, ‘Cold Feet’ and ‘Another Chance’, and emotive, downtempo records like ‘Little Something’. In 2016, Justine joined Above & Beyond during their sell-out ‘Acoustic II’ tour, which stopped at iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall in London and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. ‘Almost Home’ was released in September 2021, arriving just in time for their Group Therapy 450 milestone show at The Drumsheds London. ‘Almost Home’ has been on frequent rotation across SiriusXM BPM and iHeart Evolution and has been supported by the likes of The Chainsmokers, Armin van Buuren, and Oliver Heldens. This latest package combines A&B’s original and deep mixes of ‘Almost Home’ with new reworks from MitiS and Ashibah. Trained as a classical pianist from a young age, MitiS has been releasing electronic music since 2012. He’s a mainstay on Ophelia Records, releasing two acclaimed studio albums on the label and collaborating with Seven Lions, Crystal Skies, RBBTS, and more. His bass-driven rework of ‘Almost Home’ is his first remix on Anjunabeats. Danish/Egyptian DJ, producer, and vocalist Ashibah also makes her debut on the label. Ashibah resides in South America, where’s she’s grown a dedicated following through releases on Defected Records, Spinnin’ Records, Get Physical, and more. Her 2020 release ‘Devotion’ on Defected was a high flyer on Beatport, charting in the Top 10. “I really couldn’t believe it when Above & Beyond asked me to do a remix. I’ve always loved their music since I started listening to dance music, so this is a full-circle moment for sure. So thankful for them and their whole team for this opportunity, and I hope everyone enjoys it.” – MitiS “This remix was a super fun project and a great pleasure because I have been a fan of Above & Beyond for years and when heard the vocal and the original it was a real nostalgic feeling of those good old rave days. Made about 5 different versions cause a million ideas popped into my head but I am super happy with the end result. I took a melodic house approach with lots of drama on the drops but still lots of space for the beautiful vocal to shine and it does.” – Ashibah Above & Beyond and Justine Suissa ‘Almost Home’ (The Remixes) is out now on Anjunabeats.
