    • Kevin Silvester releases new single ‘Be The One’ KEVIN-SILVESTER-oz-edm-2023-feature

Kevin Silvester and JVCQUI Come Together For Their Huge Pop Release ‘Be The One’. Melbourne-based dance-pop artist Kevin Silvester returns with a new heart-wrenching single ‘Be The One’. The fourth single from Silvester’s upcoming debut album “Sleepwalker” is a collaboration with fellow Melbourne-based Pop and R&B singer/songwriter JVCQUI. The song is accompanied by a laceratingly emotional music video that tells the story of a toxic relationship through dramatic neon-metropolitan visuals. This song integrates multiple genres to express the core emotions of hatred and longing. Silvester enchants and lures you into a forest of melodies, only to cast you into an electric confrontation of vocals matched with a punchy bass line and a triplet-swing drum beat. The ethereal vocal performance by JVCQUI displays her longing and highlights the back and forth between Silvester and herself, painting the picture of a couple fighting, leaving listeners with empathy for JVCQUI as she pleads for validation. In July 2021, the song was born from a conversation between the two: they became friends after chatting about kinks at a local RSL. Written right before Melbourne’s lockdown, the finishing touches were completed over a phone call. Listeners are treated to an explosive chorus of gang vocals by the pair imitating signature celebrity voices – Britney Spears, Olivia Rodrigo and Momo from TWICE.

    • Flight Facilities release two-track EP, Lost Forever flight-facilities-2022-feature-oz-edm

Today, iconic Sydney duo Flight Facilities return to share a two-track EP, Lost Forever available now via Future Classic. As a pseudo-epilogue to their sophomore album FOREVER, both tracks represent the duo’s journey 12 months since its release. Having eclipsed the nation with their headline tour, alongside executing their own mammoth festival juggernaut, Airfields, that saw some of the brightest local and international acts perform to an open-air crowd, Hugo Gruzman and Jimmy Lyell now reveal and celebrate some of their favourite unreleased moments from the FOREVER era. First debuted during the duo’s pre-album NEVER FOREVER livestream, “Feel It” is a historic house heater starring a ceremonious arrangement of Flight Facilities synths that are warm, airy and arresting in unity. The coolly transposed beat and sampled vocals direct a clubbier mood before Owl Eyes delivers a melody of haunting beauty. The accompanying visualiser from Babekuhl pastiches a transfixing array of grainy 70s film footage of a child and his family. Flight Facilities fans will recognise that second track, “Planet Claire” has become a mainstay in the duo’s dynamic live shows. A dedication to an electronic great in their eyes, Booka Shade, the journeyed song is punctuated by evolving jabs of modular synths and analog rhythms. Layered with delicate and infectious complexity, the track receives a fitting visualiser from Babekuhl. Laced with neon green FF logos, a fast-moving rotation of shapes in kaleidoscopic form becomes hypnotic. Flight Facilities say on Lost Forever: “It’s already been 12 months since we released our last album. Several tracks were left on the cutting room floor of FOREVER, but it felt wrong to leave them unreleased. ‘Planet Claire’ has formed an integral part of our live show in the past 6-12 months, and it’s our little homage to a favourite artist, Booka Shade. ‘Feel It’ was one of the first demo’s we wrote after Down To Earth. We’ve sat on it for years, constantly updating and picking at it, eventually adding vocals from Owl Eyes. There’s a certain magic in this tune that captures the nostalgia of us messing around in the studio together.” Flight Facilities’ second studio album, FOREVER is the culminating result of many years of experimentation between the Sydney pair. Starring a string of 2021 releases, including “Lights Up” feat. Channel Tres, “Move” feat. DRAMA, club-ready cut “The Ghost”, and “Forever” feat. Broods, the record received praise and recognition from GQ, Rolling Stone, 10 Magazine, before being named Spotlight Album by triple j. The pair soon after hit the road for their FOREVER national tour, showcasing the record in the Australian live arena before travelling to America for an epic run of dates. Never to slow down, the pair next made their way to Europe for a series of dates and appearances across the summer season. Having come a long way from their 2010 singles “Crave You” feat. Giselle Rosselli and “Foreign Language”, Flight Facilities have sold more than 150,000 tickets and accumulated over a billion streams globally, and scored three ARIA nominations and gold certification for their debut album Down To Earth in 2014. The pair have seen eight Hottest 100 placings, an ARIA-Award for their 2015 live album Live With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and enduring appreciation for consistently defying sonic trends in their feel-good, dance floor beckoning tunes that have seen them collaborate with superstars and blazing up-and-comers alike, including Aloe Blacc, Kylie Minogue and Reggie Watts. Consistently smashing goals, the pair featured in Apple’s iPhone 13 announcement advertisement with “Lights Up”. On the live stage, Flight Facilities have gained notoriety for bringing together the crowds of Coachella, Japan’s Fuji Rock, the UK’s Bestival, Sydney’s Field Day, and 2019’s Australian Open among many more. Today, triple-platinum Sydney-born, now LA-based producer Hayden James shares his newest single, “Good Life” featuring Emie out via Future Classic. A piano house record purpose-built to elevate, “Good Life” is a prescription for chasing away bad moods. Written alongside Nathan Nicholson (Kygo, Gryffin, Calum Scott, Claptone), the track also features a standout vocal performance from London-based single Emie. Soft claps dab between synth jabs and a driving kick in pure harmony. A heightened pre-chorus starring Emie’s ethereal vocals builds to a euphoric breakdown of irresistible house, ready to melt down your worries. Hayden says of the release: “It’s all about being present in the moment and allowing that positive force in your life to lift you up when you’re feeling down. Nathan, Emie and I wrote this record in the summer this year over a couple of zoom sessions from Nashville to London then finished the track off in Ibiza for the summer vibes. I hope you love it. This one feels special.” “Good Life” lands in the wake of Hayden James’ Australian tour, a six-date run celebrating the arrival of his applauded sophomore album LIFTED earlier this year. Supported by Boo Seeka and Memphis LK, Hayden performed to illustrious arena and auditorium-sized venues across the country throughout August and September, delivering his high energy, high emotion live show. After delivering on some of his largest performances to dates, including a packed-out bucket list Coachella set, Hayden James now continues his career legacy by relocating to the US. He spends the next few months meeting his new neighbours at packed shows across America throughout October and November, before a brief return to Australia for a tour with Spilt Milk festival. Hayden’s sophomore album, LIFTED infused the same emotion of his applauded live shows into every moment, fueled by a desire to create an energetic and uplifting collection that could help bring people together, and deliver a slice of joy to his fans after much time spent apart over the past few years. The record enlisted a slew of special guests including Elderbrook, Boo Seeka, Jem Cooke, SIDEPIECE, YAEGER and Cassian, as Hayden expended rippling energy via lush production, vocal textures and consistently addictive dance cuts. Representing hours of collaboration, emotion, and an expansion of his enduring legacy in dance music, LIFTED received national praise from tastemakers and community radio, alongside being awarded triple j’s Feature Album on release, with tracks from the album accumulating over 36 million streams since release. Since breaking out in 2013 with “Permission to Love” and going on to release revered platinum certified hits “Numb” feat. GRAACE, and “Just Friends”, the producer has continued to be at the forefront of the Australian house music scene, carrying on his run of hits with his ARIA-nominated debut album Between Us in 2019 which sits at over half a billion collective streams. His production mastery on tracks like “Waves of Gold” feat. Azteck as well as “Right Time” with Icona Pop has also landed in the international spotlight, receiving love from Zane Lowe on Beats 1, triple j, as well as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME and many more. In the live arena, Hayden has enjoyed success touring across the globe, hitting major venues including NY’s Webster Hall, LA’s Fonda Theatre, Amsterdam’s Paradiso, as well as lighting up national tours and festivals, including Melbourne’s Beyond The City and Sydney’s 2022 Field Day.  From one of Australia’s dance heavyweights, sink into the soul warming groove of “Good Life” from Hayden James today, as he continues to lift us all with his unique brand of emotion-fuelled house.

The song and its official music video are available to stream on all digital platforms today. With ‘Ultimate,’ Aoki shows off his masterful versatility as a global artist, giving his audience around the world a different sense of his musical dexterity. Carefully curating and maintaining the essence of all artists in this certified hit, Steve Aoki brought to life the ultimate banger. “On HiROQUEST: Genesis, I knew I wanted to highlight the global sounds that continue to inspire me – ’Ultimate’ is the perfect fusion of rap, cumbia and reggaeton rhythms. It’s become a staple in my shows this summer, lighting up clubs around the world. Santa Fe Klan and Snow Tha Product were both incredible to work with and made this a legendary one turning it into the Ultimate,” shared Steve Aoki.  “This is very different from the music my fans generally get to hear from me and I was really excited to tap into the electronic scene with none other than the best of the best, Steve Aoki. I had a great time creating the song and recording the video alongside Steve and Snow and I’m excited to finally share it with the world,” commented Santa Fe Klan. “Very excited to work with two legends, Steve Aoki and Santa Fe Klan, honored to be on such an awesome fusion of sounds,” said Snow Tha Product.  Uniting two of the strongest and most unique forces in this exhilarating anthem, the video effortlessly captures the energy and feel of the song. Entering the scene of a lively house party, ‘Ultimate’ sees Santa Fe Klan immediately indulge into his potent verses surrounded by vibrant socialites. Taking a turn and making his presence known, the video showcases Steve’s ability to be the life of the party as he joins the celebration while Snow Tha Product dominates the scene as she performs through her verses. The video was produced by Maliik Morales and directed by Mariah Morgenstern, New Royalty Films. ‘Ultimate’ follows in the footsteps of Aoki’s latest release ‘Kong 2.0’ alongside Natanael Cano. A follow up to their previous ‘Nataaoki’ off of Cano’s album NataKong, ‘Kong 2.0’ sees Steve fuse catchy rhymes with a mesmerizing melody that quickly kicks up the energy in this Latin dance hit. When mixed with Aoki’s musical acumen, Cano’s powerful yet effortless corridos vocals provide a new layer of excitement and nuance to the song. Last month, the visionary producer and artist also teamed up with English singer-songwriter HRVY for their song ‘Save Me,’ as well as the manically furious and guitar heavy track ‘KULT’ with grandson and Jasiah. Earlier this year, Aoki launched A0K1VERSE, a new ecosystem bridging real-world experiences with web 2.0 and web3, continuing to pave a path towards the future as one of the top leading innovators in the NFT space. Currently, Steve Aoki is putting the final touches on the highly anticipated release of his upcoming album, slated for release in the upcoming months.
