    • Seven Lions & Jason Ross Release Collaborative EP ‘See You Again’ seven-lions-jason-ross

Seven Lions and Jason Ross reunite on their second collaborative EP ‘See You Again’. The EP acts as the spiritual successor to the hugely successful ‘Ocean’ EP from 2018, which also consisted of an emotive vocal melodic dubstep lead single with a trancier B-side. Frequent collaborator and fan-favorite singer Fiora brings her enchanting voice and melodies once again to Seven Lions and Jason Ross’ masterful melodic bass production on “See You Again” while the peak time, festival-ready track “Orpheus” sees a release after years of being teased at festivals. Producer Seven Lions has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Catching his break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca Records, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past eight years. After years of floating around from labels, Seven Lions compiled his own label in 2018 called Ophelia Records. Since its emergence, the melodic bass label has made its imprint being voted the Best Label of 2019 by r/edm, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers across the country. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (New York and Las Vegas), Electric Forest, Electric Zoo, South by Southwest, and HARD. Jason Ross’ footprint as a diversified electronic music artist continues to grow deeper. He’s produced with Seven Lions on their anthems ‘Higher Love’ and ‘Ocean,’ collaborated with Above & Beyond on remixes, and played some of the world’s most renowned venues like Red Rocks, The Gorge and The Hollywood Palladium. His tracks have received support from prominent producers including Armin Van Buuren, Slander, Kaskade, Avicii and many more. Continuing on an active 2020 that saw Jason release an album, as well as multiple livestream projects, 2021 has been no less busy. Jason released a 4 track EP in May titled Convergence, featuring the standout singles “One More Day” with Blanke and Chandler Leighton, and “Wild Ones” with Nevve. In 2020 he released his debut artist album, 1000 Faces, that features prominent bass music collaborators such as Seven Lions and Dabin, and vocal collaborators and writers like Melanie Fontana, RUNN, and Dia Frampton. To date, the record has amassed over 16 million streams on Spotify. Jason also hosted his own weekly Twitch mix show in partnership with the biggest music channel on the platform – Insomniac.

    • Kill The Noise Drops Single “Don’t Look Back” & Announces New Album kill-the-noise-2021-oz-edm

Bass music innovator Kill The Noise announces his first album in 6 years and first major body of work on Ophelia Records. “Don’t Look Back” marks his first single on the label in over 2 years and is his first non-collab release since his debut album in 2015. It acts as vocalist MOELLE’s first release and mixes expertly designed bass sounds with complex melodies and exciting rhythms from start to finish. • Wooli & Trivecta Team Up Creed Singer Scott Stapp On “Light Up the Sky” wooli-trivecta-scott-stapp-oz-edm-2021-feature

“Light Up The Sky” is the unexpected collaboration between dance music DJs and producers Wooli and Trivecta and Scott Stapp, the Grammy winning songwriter, solo artist, and voice of multi-platinum rock band Creed. Stapp’s fluid vocals soar over euphoric walls of synths and head-banging bass to create a track that leaves nothing on the table. The track is a breath of fresh air into the melodic dance music scene, bridging genres and fanbases and providing a collaboration that feels both nostalgic and modern at once. Wooli (Adam Puleo) is an East Coast producer who has quickly taken the electronic music scene by storm. He has received immediate support from the legends of dubstep including Excision, Seven Lions, KAYZO, Slander, Snails, as well as others. • Hydraulix Releases Debut LP ‘Imposter Syndrome’ hydraulix-oz-edm-2021-feature

Forward-thinking Australian DJ and producer Hydraulix is pleased to present his innovative debut album Imposter Syndrome, a versatile mélange of freeform bass hybrids, drum and bass, dubstep, rap, hip-hop, pop, and trap. The 20-track LP arrives after a string of highly-regarded lead singles: “Waratah” with Nitti Gritti, “Another Minute” ft. Muchi, “Concrete” ft. Jasiah, “Wish I’d Never Met You” with Veronica Bravo, and “Wrench” with Doctor P. A product of lockdown-induced insecurity and feelings of self-doubt, Imposter Syndrome sees Hydraulix tackle his inner demons by creating his most sonically captivating body of work yet. Imposter Syndrome is available to stream now via WAKAAN. Hydraulix is no stranger to WAKAAN, Liquid Stranger’s esteemed label. Following the release of his 2019 Space Cadet EP – his official label debut –  he became a fixture on the beloved imprint, churning out groundbreaking singles such as “Let Em Drip,” and landing top billing spots on numerous WAKAAN festival stage takeovers. In early 2020, he was riding the momentum of his debut U.S. tour before being stopped in his tracks by the onset of the global pandemic. Forced to return home to his native city of Melbourne and into a strict lockdown, the distraction and adrenaline that came from his fast-paced lifestyle quickly slipped into a slow-burning comedown. “One thing that I’ve always struggled with is the feeling of not knowing what I was doing most of the time or not deserving my success and accomplishments,” Hydraulix explains. With newfound time to reflect on his career, he was met with an emotional epiphany that doubled as the main inspiration behind his debut album. “When COVID hit last year, everything changed for me; my US tour got cut short and I go back home [to Australia] and straight into lockdown. After facing the reality of things, I realised I had been dealing with a case of ‘imposter syndrome’ for quite some time,” Hydraulix notes. “It was a tricky time and I wanted to push myself to create something that truly tested me and my production skills. The concept of ‘Imposter Syndrome’ really hit home for me, and I knew it would be a fitting title for the album.” Imposter Syndrome packs in everything that Hydraulix is known for – hard-hitting bass, uncompromising drops, euphoric highs, and pulsating dubs – together with new sounds and collaborations that see him step out of his comfort zone. The familiarity of high-octane dubstep and bass cuts “Waratah,” a high-profile collaboration with Nitti Gritti, “System Malfunction,” “Take Control,” and “Break Em Down” is complemented by his raw, stripped-back take on bedroom hip-hop, radio-primed EDM, bass-metal, alternative rap, and drum and bass. Perhaps most impressive of all, however, is how Hydraulix recruited 16 co-collaborators and featured artists, each one a leader in their respective sonic spaces, to help refine and elevate his creative vision. Ohio-based genre-bending up-and-comer Jasiah lends his unfiltered grungy vocals on the bass-metal “Concrete”; longtime collaborator and friend DJ Afterthought injects his hip/hop bass twinge into “Dream”; singer-songwriter and fellow Aussie Veronica Bravo helps him transform “Wish I’d Never Met You” into a slice of dreamy pop/dance perfection; alternative trap breakout star Trippythakid merges his liquid flow with the slick bass production in “Mind Over Matter.” Aiming to push his boundaries as far as possible, he even called upon legendary Australian musician and didgeridoo player Charlie McMahon to add a unique instrumental touch to “Ridgy.” A truly diverse listening experience that holds power as the constant, Imposter Syndrome eases into its conclusion with the hazy, hip-hop-drenched “Another Minute” ft. Muchi, which begs listeners to stay and spin the record once more. It’s hard to believe that Imposter Syndrome is Hydraulix’s debut album given its impeccable structure. His most well-rounded and complete work to date, Imposter Syndrome positions Hydraulix as a leader that is no longer confined to the bass music space, but one that is ready to take over all facets of musical subgenres with an optimistic demeanor and an added dose of self-assurance. TRACKLIST: 1. Syndrome 2. Concrete ft. Jasiah 3. Smokin’ 4. Power Up ft. Wavehi & Edris Ali 5. Ridgy ft. Charlie McMahon 6. Waratah w/ Nitti Gritti 7. 4REAL ft. IndySauce 8. Dream w/ Afterthought ft. It’s definitely one of the most banging tracks on the record—we referenced some of our favorite club music for the drum programming and had fun envisioning the time when we could finally play this live. It had an amazing reaction at our Red Rocks shows last month which was really special for us.” – RÜFÜS DU SOL Arriving via the Aussie trio’s own Rose Avenue Records, as well as Reprise/Warner Records, “On My Knees” finds RÜFÜS DU SOL leaning into the darker sounds that have so frequently conferred a contemplative character to their back catalog, from the song’s lyrical narrative to its technical framework. It’s “definitely one of the most banging tracks” on the forthcoming record, according to James Hunt. • Kult Kyss’ Release Euphoric New Single ‘So Alive’ kult-kyss-so-alive-oz-edm-feature

Melbourne electronic duo Kult Kyss are back with a captivating new track, ‘So Alive’, produced alongside acclaimed Australian producer LUCIANBLOMKAMP. Created in the depths of lockdown, vocalist Rromarin and producer Haxx have conjured pure magic with ‘So Alive’, creating a hypnotic track that yearns to uplift the spirits of everyone it comes across. ‘So Alive’ is lifted from Kult Kyss’ upcoming debut EP Ultra Sound, set for release in November and also featuring collaborations with the likes of BRUX and Motez.  Kult Kyss explains, “‘So Alive’ was born in the midst of the pandemic, at a time when things felt incredibly limited and uncertain. The experience of being in lockdown forced us to shift our perspectives from constantly looking towards the future to living fully in the present. ‘So Alive’ is inspired by this, and explores the magic and beauty that can be found in living in the moment, day by day. In creating the track we wanted to pay homage to early ‘90s dance music, incorporating dusty sampled breaks with euphoric synths and a simple, mantra-like vocal hook. We were also fortunate enough to work with our friend LUCIANBLOMKAMP (who has produced for Khalid & US-rapper 6LACK) on additional production, who brought his signature gritty 2-step sound to the track.” ‘So Alive’ is an extension of the Kult Kyss sound that we’ve come to know and love over the last few years. The pair’s recent releases ‘Kill That Beat’ and ‘God Is A Bassline’ saw high rotation on triple j Unearthed, earning support from Spotify with editorial placements in New Music Friday, New Dance Beats and Top Shelf Electronic. This past year, Kult Kyss also had the opportunity to invite fans into their universe while supporting Running Touch at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, performing live at Meadow Music Festival and joining Motez on triple j’s Mix Up. Kult Kyss know how to elicit feelings within their audience, and ‘So Alive’ is no different.

    • PNAU Team Up With Budjerah For Uplifting New Track ‘Stranger Love’ pnau-budjerah-oz-edm-feature

Having reunited with Ladyhawke for their recent single ‘River’, acclaimed dance music trio PNAU now team up with Australian singer-songwriter prodigy Budjerah for their new single ‘Stranger Love’. A powerful and uplifting house track based on the French novella The Little Prince, ‘Stranger Love’ brings together Budjerah’s soulful voice with the dancefloor sensibilities that PNAU have become renowned for over their stellar career. Recorded in Byron Bay in early 2021, ‘Stranger Love’ magically marries the best of both artists into an interstellar banger. PNAU’s Nick Littlemore describes the experience of working with breakthrough artist Budjerah: “Meeting a young, spirited artist like Budjerah is beautiful and challenging. To encounter someone so young who already has a great handle on creativity and kindness confronts one’s own insecurities. He comes across as a natural; not something one sees a lot of in this business. Whilst we come from vastly different experiences, the supernatural power of music brought us together. We wrote from the perspective of psychedelic adventuring, and wistfully met somewhere in the middle. What came together was a true PNAU happening – an interstellar banger to be enjoyed by the trippy dreamer in all of us.” Budjerah adds, “Joel Quartermain [from ARIA and APRA Award winning band Eskimo Joe] and I originally wrote Stranger Love as an acoustic ballad. The song was written based on the book The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and describes the relationship between the young boy (the little Prince) and a rose that lands on his home planet. The boy cares for her, he gives her his love and attention, but the rose doesn’t really appreciate the boy, so he leaves the planet. It was really fun to make the track with PNAU. I recorded the vocals with Nick Littlemore when we met in Byron in February of 2021. The performance element of a dance record is quite different to what I’m used to, but it was really fun. It sounds really great.” PNAU is the multi-platinum-selling, ARIA award-winning electronic act of Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun, Vlossom, Teenager), Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore, famed for their extensive career born out of the underground clubs and festival dancefloors of Australia. PNAU also hold the acclaimed title of giving Elton John his first UK No.1 album in 22 years when they collaborated with the legendary Rocketman on the 2012 album ‘Good Morning To The Night’. Rumour has it PNAU are currently working with Elton John once again… With a catalogue of their own hits and multiple albums behind them, PNAU have enjoyed a powerful renaissance over the past few years, with multi-platinum hits ‘Go Bang’ and ‘Chameleon’ becoming inescapable on the airwaves in their home country of Australia and climbing the Billboard Dance charts in the U.S. 2019 singles ‘Solid Gold’ and ‘All Of Us’, embedded PNAU as the most cutting edge electronic act to watch on a global scale, finding a loyal fan base amongst the most influential decision makers at BBC Radio 1, triple j and streaming services across the globe. In late 2020 PNAU reunited with New Zealand’s Ladyhawke for ‘River’, which harked back to their classic track and fan-favourite, ‘Embrace’. Last year Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes also launched their own label, Lab78, delivering a brand new project in the form of breakthrough indie act Vlossom (who also collaborated with PNAU on their single ‘Lucky’), with subsequent signings Ivy Rose out of Houston and the Tasmanian duo Sumner, who recently hit the top 5 of the Spotify Viral chart in Australia. For Budjerah Slabb, making music was an inevitability. Raised in a home full of instruments and playing in family bands, the 19-year-old savant has crafted a sound that melds the formative elements of gospel and soul, with contemporary pop and R’n’B references. Budjerah found kinship with ARIA and J Award-winning artist Matt Corby, who produced his 2021 debut self-titled EP. Corby’s studio is located close to Budjerah’s home in Fingal Head – traditionally the land of Bundjalung people, from which Budjerah is descended – and the two clocked countless hours comparing notes and crafting the sound that would introduce the world to what Budjerah can do. Armed with his runaway hit single ‘Higher,’ Budjerah recently took the stage for a breathtaking performance at Music From The Home front, alongside special guest appearances for Jack River, Lime Cordiale and Thelma Plum.  He will also support The Avalanches in Sydney this weekend and is touring nationally now. PNAU now take Budjerah’s incredible voice to new heights, with ‘Stranger Love’ delivering a powerful and passionate message, whilst also calling fans to the dancefloor in signature PNAU fashion.
