World Renowned Festival Lollapalooza Secures At Least 10 More Years In Chicago.

Lollapalooza’s future had been in doubt since it was operating on a one-year extension after the deal signed in 2012 expired last year. However that has now been extended with the city of Chicago and they will keep their Grant Park home for at least 10 more years.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has announced that the city’s long-running music festival, held annually in Grant Park, will take place for at least another 10 years and publicly called Lollapalooza “not only a significant economic driver for our city, but a truly iconic Chicago summer festival.”

The Chicago Tribune reports a contract between C3 Presents and the city of Chicago calls for the Chicago Park District to receive a share of all C3 revenue streams ranging from 5% to 20%, including admission, goods and services, licensing sales, sponsorships and streaming. The deal also states that the maximum number of attendees can’t exceed 115,000 at any time.

Michael Jacobson, President and CEO of Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association added, “With Lollapalooza serving as Chicago hotels’ busiest weekend of the year, IHLA and its members are excited to welcome Lolla back to our city for the next ten years. Lollapalooza also supports quality livelihoods for our valued employees, who live in every corner of Chicago. We congratulate our partners at both City Hall and C3, the producer of this event, for getting this extension across the finish line.”

Lollapalooza will be returning to the city of Chicago from August 3-6, 2023 and Hotel experience packages with GA, GA+ or VIP tickets are already on sale here.
