Inspired by the discovery of the ruins of Atlantis at Bimini in the Bahamas, Moon Boots’ sophomore album Bimini Road is a joyous listen that combines elements of soulful & melodic house, disco, and R&B. The album includes the new single ‘Clear’ as well as recent summer anthems ‘Tied Up’ and ‘Juanita’, which have received airplay on SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1, triple j, KCRW, as well as DJ support from Claptone, Above & Beyond, The Black Madonna, Diplo and many more. ‘Juanita’ was premiered by Mixmag (who called the song ‘a show-stopper’), and the new video for ‘Clear’ is a retro-fantastic delight, check it out here.

“Bimini Road is about discovering something new, and escaping from the everyday.  It’s a journey without a fixed destination, a road that could lead to a mythical paradise that’s ancient and yet futuristic. Or it might not! But that mystery is worth exploring. I experimented with lots of new styles and sounds but kept it grounded in what I do best. It’s an album with lots of dancefloor moments and a lot of heart.” – Moon Boots

Moon Boots’ debut album First Landing was a rare slow burn in today’s disposable music culture, steadily amassing a broad international following and an impressive 35 million streams since its release in August 2017. Praised by Mixmag for its ‘deep textures and funky melodies,’ First Landing has become a contemporary electronic masterpiece with support from Jason Bentley (KCRW) and Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1).

With Bimini Road, Moon Boots has brought back collaborators from both his debut album and his ambitious 7-person live show. Black Gatsby (“Power”), Nic Hanson (‘Keep The Faith’), and KONA (‘Fortune Teller’) all make appearances that help to make Bimini Road Moon Boots’ most compelling musical statement to date. Ross Clark (St Lucia) contributes guitar to three of the album’s hookiest and most affecting tracks. Moon Boots’ eagerness to bring melody and songcraft to unpredictable-but-accessible club grooves makes him stand out in a crowded field of beatmakers and careerists.

The album also features new collaborators, including Little Boots, whose song ‘You Won’t See Me Cry’ carries echoes of Blondie, ABBA and Giorgio Moroder. LA-based pop chanteuse Niia, next-generation house diva Kaleena Zanders, and Gary Saxby of the Harlem Gospel Choir round out the list of guest vocalists.

Born in Brooklyn, Moon Boots gravitated toward music at an early age, spending many years playing piano, keyboards, and synthesizers before he ever made a beat. Inspired by legends like Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, and Paul Johnson, he moved to the home of house music, Chicago, where he played synth in an indie band and worked as a local DJ before aligning with the legendary French Express label for his earliest releases. Eventually signed to taste-making UK label Anjunadeep, Moon Boots has always stayed true to his mission of making infectious music that transcends genre. Songs not just for DJs and dance-floors, but for everyone.

    • Sultan + Shepard release new studio album ‘Forever, Now’ Sultan + Shepard release new studio album ‘Forever, Now’ - OZ EDM

Sultan + Shepard release new studio album ‘Forever, Now’ on Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint. Sultan + Shepard are pleased to present their new studio album, ‘Forever, Now,’ available to stream today from Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint. “When we began working on ‘Forever, Now,’ the world had started to open up from the pandemic, we had begun touring again, and it felt like the great thawing of pent-up feelings and emotions were being released from us, and also all over the world. Some of these feelings were beautiful and emotional, others darker and messier. Most of this album was written during breaks between shows when we’re back in our studio but we still had this sense of energy moving, flowing, and being allowed to trickle into new places with new feelings.  Not surprisingly, a lot of the music leaned towards more joyful energy, bursting with positive emotions while most of the lyrics and vocals we had recorded with our collaborators were asking deeper questions about longing, separation, and time passing. It was a time of growth and positivity amidst general change and often chaos for the world but also for us personally. The concept of “Forever, Now” grew out of this familiar feeling of being grounded in a place of creativity despite being in new places sonically or physically. We realized that wherever we went, there we were. Things were always moving and changing, as we ourselves were too. But through the act of being sincere in expressing our emotions, a sense of being in just the right place or hitting just the right note would often arise.” – Sultan + Shepard After a chance meeting at an after-hours club in Montreal in 2002, Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard quickly discovered they had a natural musical chemistry. They began collaborating on original songs and remixes, signing their first song to John Digweed’s Bedrock label. From collaborations with revered EDM artists such as Dillon Francis and Tiësto to remixes for major pop acts like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, and Madonna, the duo established themselves as one of dance music’s leading partnerships. The next decade saw them tour around the world including stops at major festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra, and EDC. During this time they were recognized by their peers for major accolades including a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording for their remix of Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out Of Heaven”; the SOCAN Music award for International Song of the Year for “Bad” (the multi-platinum single which they co-wrote and produced alongside David Guetta); and two Juno Award nominations for Best Dance Recording. Most recently the duo have returned to their melodic house and progressive roots, signing with Lane 8 and his label This Never Happened and launching a radio show Dialekt Radio. They have released multiple singles and EPs, collaborating with Jon Hopkins Angela McCluskey, Shallou, Le Youth, and others. In 2021 they released their second album “Something, Everything” to critical acclaim. Their new album “Forever, Now” is available now on This Never Happened.. ‘Forever, Now’ Tracklist 1. • Arky Waters Releases New Single “Back To You” arky-waters-feature-oz-edm

Arky Waters caps the year off with his new single ‘Back To You’ featuring the vocals of Jade Alice. This marks Arky’s first collaboration with another vocalist – Jade’s dream pop roots and catchy hooks move with the emotional depths of the track, capturing us through the tender and darker moments. “We made this track around COVID times, I sent her a DM and I honestly didn’t expect a reply, she ended up being open to working with me even though I had nothing out at the time. I sent over an idea that she vibed with and she sent back the hook that’s currently on the track. Once I heard that hook I basically ended up crafting the song around the vocal. For our first time working together it went super smooth; she’s talented as hell. I’d been a fan of her stuff for a while so it was cool to finally make something together.” The track is paired with a four part visualiser made by upcoming Sydney artist Don Kaiyote; the collaboration explores themes of young love, heartbreak and loneliness. “The most important part of this project was to make something that felt close to us – we wanted to capture beauty in something that was quite real and ordinary, something we’ve all felt before.” The video takes us through the journey of young love as a person of colour growing up in western society, diving into the complexities of the modern-day “situationship” and the feelings that revolve around that behind closed doors. Arky Waters is a Sydney based artist exploring his early love for indie/folk with the electronic textures of rave music. Starting in 2020,it began as an outlet from his usual work with alt-rock band ‘Silvers’, and soon blossomed into its own project as he found his feet in production. The songs act as a soundtrack to his life growing up in the suburbs of Australia, bridging the gap between indie/folk songwriting and the pulse of electronic music.

    • Flight Facilities release two-track EP, Lost Forever flight-facilities-2022-feature-oz-edm

Today, iconic Sydney duo Flight Facilities return to share a two-track EP, Lost Forever available now via Future Classic. As a pseudo-epilogue to their sophomore album FOREVER, both tracks represent the duo’s journey 12 months since its release. Having eclipsed the nation with their headline tour, alongside executing their own mammoth festival juggernaut, Airfields, that saw some of the brightest local and international acts perform to an open-air crowd, Hugo Gruzman and Jimmy Lyell now reveal and celebrate some of their favourite unreleased moments from the FOREVER era. First debuted during the duo’s pre-album NEVER FOREVER livestream, “Feel It” is a historic house heater starring a ceremonious arrangement of Flight Facilities synths that are warm, airy and arresting in unity. The coolly transposed beat and sampled vocals direct a clubbier mood before Owl Eyes delivers a melody of haunting beauty. The accompanying visualiser from Babekuhl pastiches a transfixing array of grainy 70s film footage of a child and his family. Flight Facilities fans will recognise that second track, “Planet Claire” has become a mainstay in the duo’s dynamic live shows. A dedication to an electronic great in their eyes, Booka Shade, the journeyed song is punctuated by evolving jabs of modular synths and analog rhythms. Layered with delicate and infectious complexity, the track receives a fitting visualiser from Babekuhl. Laced with neon green FF logos, a fast-moving rotation of shapes in kaleidoscopic form becomes hypnotic. Flight Facilities say on Lost Forever: “It’s already been 12 months since we released our last album. Several tracks were left on the cutting room floor of FOREVER, but it felt wrong to leave them unreleased. ‘Planet Claire’ has formed an integral part of our live show in the past 6-12 months, and it’s our little homage to a favourite artist, Booka Shade. ‘Feel It’ was one of the first demo’s we wrote after Down To Earth. We’ve sat on it for years, constantly updating and picking at it, eventually adding vocals from Owl Eyes. There’s a certain magic in this tune that captures the nostalgia of us messing around in the studio together.” Flight Facilities’ second studio album, FOREVER is the culminating result of many years of experimentation between the Sydney pair. Starring a string of 2021 releases, including “Lights Up” feat. Channel Tres, “Move” feat. DRAMA, club-ready cut “The Ghost”, and “Forever” feat. Broods, the record received praise and recognition from GQ, Rolling Stone, 10 Magazine, before being named Spotlight Album by triple j. The pair soon after hit the road for their FOREVER national tour, showcasing the record in the Australian live arena before travelling to America for an epic run of dates. Never to slow down, the pair next made their way to Europe for a series of dates and appearances across the summer season. Having come a long way from their 2010 singles “Crave You” feat. Giselle Rosselli and “Foreign Language”, Flight Facilities have sold more than 150,000 tickets and accumulated over a billion streams globally, and scored three ARIA nominations and gold certification for their debut album Down To Earth in 2014. The pair have seen eight Hottest 100 placings, an ARIA-Award for their 2015 live album Live With The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and enduring appreciation for consistently defying sonic trends in their feel-good, dance floor beckoning tunes that have seen them collaborate with superstars and blazing up-and-comers alike, including Aloe Blacc, Kylie Minogue and Reggie Watts. Consistently smashing goals, the pair featured in Apple’s iPhone 13 announcement advertisement with “Lights Up”. On the live stage, Flight Facilities have gained notoriety for bringing together the crowds of Coachella, Japan’s Fuji Rock, the UK’s Bestival, Sydney’s Field Day, and 2019’s Australian Open among many more. • Get Set To ‘Fly Away’ With Dave Winnel’s Latest Dance Anthem dave-winnel-fly-away-2022-oz-edm-feature

Sydney’s own Dave Winnel has been going from strength to strength this year. With a string of singles under his belt, a scene-stealing triple j Like A Version, plus touring for Listen Out, there’s no slowing down for the DJ/producer. Now Dave Winnel releases his new single ‘Fly Away’. Co-written with KLP, ‘Fly Away’ combines super catchy vocals (from KLP also) with tribal rhythms, knocking drums and a prominent live trombone – all jammed with Dave’s signature production style. “KLP has always been on top of my ‘Artists I Want To Collab With list’,” explains Dave. “But I was always scared to actually hit her up to make it happen. Luckily though, she Shazamed one of my tunes off the radio and she hit me up instead. I sent her a very rough instrumental idea which featured the big synth horns and strings backed to the big tribal drums. She came back pretty fast with an epic vocal, adding a monster gang vocal chant over the groove and adding a huge thick layer of harmonies to the breaks. Because the vocal is so large and full of layers, I didn’t need to add many more instruments. I did however want to give the track a more organic and natural sound to it, so I had a trombone player, by the name of ’Trombonhero’, to re-record the trombone part. There’s something special about the articulation between each note when played by a real musician that you just can’t get out of a synth.” ‘Fly Away’ is not the first time Dave Winnel and KLP have worked together. KLP featured on Dave’s Like A Version earlier this year when he took on Toto’s undeniable classic ‘Africa’ and KLP also sang on Dave’s mash up of his original tracks ‘CEO’ & ‘Jungle Juice’. Dave and KLP also went head-to-head in helping Hobba & Hing create their own DOY Supergroup entries in May of this year – but for ‘Fly Away’ they have combined their strengths and are on the same team! Dave Winnel has been making waves over the past two years with a string of singles, ‘Real Life’, ‘Method’, ‘CEO’, ‘Jungle Juice’ ft. Alst3n and ‘Freaking Out’, plus ‘Hallucinations’ on Deadmau5’s Hau5trap imprint. If that weren’t enough, he recently smashed out epic sets at Listen Out Festival and supported the Sunset Bros at their sold-out Hordern Pavilion show. Over his career Dave has collaborated with the legendary Armin Van Buuren on ´The Race´, and produced official remixes for Twenty One Pilots, David Guetta, Bastille, Anne-Marie, Clean Bandit, Hardwell, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Adam Lambert and Galantis, proving himself to be one of Australia’s most prolific electronic acts, racking up over 65 million streams on Spotify alone. Known for his infectious and fun personality that manages to shines through his music, Dave Winnel manages to blend future/tech house with organic quirky instruments. Be sure to catch Dave at one of his upcoming shows this summer. • Kevin Silvester releases new single ‘Be The One’ KEVIN-SILVESTER-oz-edm-2023-feature

Kevin Silvester and JVCQUI Come Together For Their Huge Pop Release ‘Be The One’. Melbourne-based dance-pop artist Kevin Silvester returns with a new heart-wrenching single ‘Be The One’. The fourth single from Silvester’s upcoming debut album “Sleepwalker” is a collaboration with fellow Melbourne-based Pop and R&B singer/songwriter JVCQUI. The song is accompanied by a laceratingly emotional music video that tells the story of a toxic relationship through dramatic neon-metropolitan visuals. This song integrates multiple genres to express the core emotions of hatred and longing. Silvester enchants and lures you into a forest of melodies, only to cast you into an electric confrontation of vocals matched with a punchy bass line and a triplet-swing drum beat. The ethereal vocal performance by JVCQUI displays her longing and highlights the back and forth between Silvester and herself, painting the picture of a couple fighting, leaving listeners with empathy for JVCQUI as she pleads for validation. In July 2021, the song was born from a conversation between the two: they became friends after chatting about kinks at a local RSL. Written right before Melbourne’s lockdown, the finishing touches were completed over a phone call. Listeners are treated to an explosive chorus of gang vocals by the pair imitating signature celebrity voices – Britney Spears, Olivia Rodrigo and Momo from TWICE.

As Flight Facilities reflect on an incredible past 12 months, dive into the finale of their sophomore album with the duo’s Lost Forever EP, out now via Future Classic. • Elderbrook Drops Single From Forthcoming Album + Announces 2023 Tour Dates

Grammy Award winning musician Elderbrook has today unveiled details of his forthcoming album “Little Love”, as well as sharing his new single “Beautiful Morning”. Combining flickering synths, poignant breakdowns and powerful lyrics that capture the feeling of love in its purest form, “Beautiful Morning” evokes the kind of awe-inspiring sunsets that the track title alludes to. It follows on from “Howl”, a euphoric recent single in collaboration with fellow Grammy winner Tourist. Elderbrook will also be embarking on a mammoth headline tour next year, including Australian tour dates in Sydney and Melbourne in January. “Beautiful Morning” is simply about two people spending time together,” Elderbrook explains. “A day where nothing matters other than each other. When I first wrote the song I had pictured it being two people in love. Between now and then the song has definitely taken on multiple meanings for me. It now reminds me of early mornings with my children. The quiet of 4am wake ups and the calmness of knowing we are the only ones in (what feels like) the world.” A live phenomenon, self-taught multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter, Elderbrook is known for his collaborations with some of the biggest names in dance music, including Diplo, Camelphat, Black Coffee, Bob Moses, The Martinez Brothers and Carnage. Meanwhile his acclaimed debut album “Why Do We Shake In The Cold?” included sleeper hits “Numb” and “Something About You”, and his most recent EP “Innerlight” included a collaboration with Bob Moses and the resultant tour saw him sell out shows all over the world.  With over 1 billion streams to date, and tours alongside the likes of Friendly Fires, Jungle, Rufus Du Sol and Odesza, Elderbrook is only just getting started. • Hayden James returns with new single “Good Life” featuring Emie hayden-james-2022-oz-edm

Today, triple-platinum Sydney-born, now LA-based producer Hayden James shares his newest single, “Good Life” featuring Emie out via Future Classic. A piano house record purpose-built to elevate, “Good Life” is a prescription for chasing away bad moods. Written alongside Nathan Nicholson (Kygo, Gryffin, Calum Scott, Claptone), the track also features a standout vocal performance from London-based single Emie. Soft claps dab between synth jabs and a driving kick in pure harmony. A heightened pre-chorus starring Emie’s ethereal vocals builds to a euphoric breakdown of irresistible house, ready to melt down your worries. Hayden says of the release: “It’s all about being present in the moment and allowing that positive force in your life to lift you up when you’re feeling down. Nathan, Emie and I wrote this record in the summer this year over a couple of zoom sessions from Nashville to London then finished the track off in Ibiza for the summer vibes. I hope you love it. This one feels special.” “Good Life” lands in the wake of Hayden James’ Australian tour, a six-date run celebrating the arrival of his applauded sophomore album LIFTED earlier this year. Supported by Boo Seeka and Memphis LK, Hayden performed to illustrious arena and auditorium-sized venues across the country throughout August and September, delivering his high energy, high emotion live show. After delivering on some of his largest performances to dates, including a packed-out bucket list Coachella set, Hayden James now continues his career legacy by relocating to the US. He spends the next few months meeting his new neighbours at packed shows across America throughout October and November, before a brief return to Australia for a tour with Spilt Milk festival. Hayden’s sophomore album, LIFTED infused the same emotion of his applauded live shows into every moment, fueled by a desire to create an energetic and uplifting collection that could help bring people together, and deliver a slice of joy to his fans after much time spent apart over the past few years. The record enlisted a slew of special guests including Elderbrook, Boo Seeka, Jem Cooke, SIDEPIECE, YAEGER and Cassian, as Hayden expended rippling energy via lush production, vocal textures and consistently addictive dance cuts. Representing hours of collaboration, emotion, and an expansion of his enduring legacy in dance music, LIFTED received national praise from tastemakers and community radio, alongside being awarded triple j’s Feature Album on release, with tracks from the album accumulating over 36 million streams since release. His production mastery on tracks like “Waves of Gold” feat. Azteck as well as “Right Time” with Icona Pop has also landed in the international spotlight, receiving love from Zane Lowe on Beats 1, triple j, as well as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME and many more. In the live arena, Hayden has enjoyed success touring across the globe, hitting major venues including NY’s Webster Hall, LA’s Fonda Theatre, Amsterdam’s Paradiso, as well as lighting up national tours and festivals, including Melbourne’s Beyond The City and Sydney’s 2022 Field Day.  From one of Australia’s dance heavyweights, sink into the soul warming groove of “Good Life” from Hayden James today, as he continues to lift us all with his unique brand of emotion-fuelled house.
