    • “Without You” Sees Kill The Noise & Seven Lions Reunite For Massive New Single kill-the-noise-seven-lions-without-you-oz-edm-feature

US dance music headliners Kill The Noise and Seven Lions reunite on “Without You”, the third lead single off Kill The Noise’s first album in 6 years, ‘EMBRACE’. This is the power duo’s third collaboration after releasing “Horizon” in 2018 with Tritonal and HALIENE and the dubstep-psytrance fan favorite “The Blood” in 2019. Singer Julia Ross, who’s achieved two Billboard #1 records as a co-writer for BTS, provides the perfect vocal performance over the groovy, driving house beat that switches to a huge melodic festival Ophelia Records 2021 banger in the second act. “Without You” continues the string of high performing collabs between the two producers and blends the best of their sound design, styles and melodic sensibility for another unforgettable, genre-blending track. The music of Jake Stanczak, better known as American producer and DJ, Kill the Noise, was born out of an era where Ridley Scott imagined utopian futures on the silver screen, and artists like NIN and Aphex Twin rocked MTV. After channeling the influences of his youth through over a decades’ worth of forward driven electronic releases (Roots, Kill Kill Kill, Black Magic, Occult Classic), and charismatic live shows (Coachella, EDC Lollapalooza, Hardfest), the name “Kill the Noise” has become synonymous with some of the leading acts in dance music — getting creative in the studio with the likes of Dillon Francis, Deadmau5, AWOLNATION and Skrillex — and as 2020 unfolds, he’ll be unveiling even more material. Producer Seven Lions has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Catching his break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca Records, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past eight years. After years of floating around from labels, Seven Lions compiled his own label in 2018 called Ophelia Records. Since its emergence, the melodic bass label has made its imprint being voted the Best Label of 2019 by r/edm, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers across the country. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (New York and Las Vegas), Electric Forest, Electric Zoo, South by Southwest, and HARD.

After a whirlwind fourteen years in the dance music industry, famed Festival Trap founder Carnage has announced his retirement at the age of 31. Carnage’s groundbreaking work in the early 2010s helped usher in a new genre called “festival trap,” a thunderous, 808-heavy twist on the saturated electro music that dominated festivals at the time. Buoyed by a thriving SoundCloud community, festival trap quickly became a movement—and Carnage was its vanguard. While dance music was his primary focus, Carnage’s brushstroke painted a far more colorful mosaic in the music community. He operated as a prolific hip-hop producer, collaborating with a myriad of the world’s top rappers, such as Mac Miller, Migos, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug and Meek Mill, among many others. • Moss Has Heart-Melting Bass On ‘Speed Dial’ In Latest Release With BRIA moss-speed-dial-oz-edm-feature-2021

Australia’s rising star Moss returns with a heavy-hitting follow up to ‘SABRE TEETH’, releasing ‘SPEED DIAL (feat. BRIA)’ via October Records. After making a splash with his triple j Unearthed DIY Supergroup winning track, Moss picks up where ‘SABRE TEETH (feat. Genesis Owusu)’ left off, introducing the single with subtle didgeridoo vibrations before the foot is pressed down on the sonic gas pedal. The Indigenous producer’s aptitude for utilising dynamic drums and powerful bass to evoke atmospheric and emotive narratives is on full display. He teams with Brisbane-based up-and-coming singer/songwriter BRIA who’s pertinent vocals centred around the uncertainty and instability of online dating, provide the perfect hook. Moss discusses the single and the direction of his sound saying, “I’ve teamed up on this record with powerhouse singer/ songwriter BRIA and we’ve built something very special. SPEED DIAL is the sonic infusion of the ups and downs of online dating – especially when they don’t text back. This single represents a development of my sound and I can’t wait for you to hear it. All gas, no brakes.” On the narrative behind the record, BRIA said, “The idea for SPEED DIAL came out of the 2020 Brisbane COVID lockdown. After everyone was exclusively online dating, I found hookup culture was more present than ever. Moss’ dramatic production was the perfect accompaniment for my narrator’s situationship.” Brisbane talent BRIA, who amassed a sizable online following across TikTok and Instagram, recently released her debut single ‘Taking It Off’. The track has seen airplay on triple j and acclaim from Declan Byrne, Tommy Faith, Abby Butler, and Dave Ruby Howe on triple j Unearthed. Embracing femininity and sensuality within her craft, she takes influences from the likes of Charli XCX, Lorde, and Caroline Polachek. Sydney-based producer, Moss rose to prominence earlier this year after taking out the triple j Unearthed DIY Supergroup competition, with his release ‘SABRE TEETH’, before announcing his signing to October Records. Sampling the likes of Alison Wonderland, Touch Sensitive, San Cisco, Vallis Alps, and Genesis Owusu, the latter of which jumped on as a feature artist, Moss crafted a very Australian moment, yet it was his iconic didgeridoo bass drop that impressed triple j presenters and listeners alike. The track went on to become one of the most played on the station, with Moss appearing on triple j’s Friday Mix, and Mix Up as part of NAIDOC week, while the single’s momentum carried it to the top of the Australian Shazam Chart. While ‘SABRE TEETH’ showcased Moss’ talent to a wider audience, the bass producer has been honing his craft with singles such as ‘From The Start’ and ‘Shimmer’ both of which premiered on triple j and rose the triple j Unearthed Electronic charts. Having already played alongside some of the heaviest hitters in the industry – Skrillex, RL Grime, Flosstradamus, Marshmello, just to name a few – Moss has positioned himself as a producer capable of rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s best.

Genesis Owusu)’ and announces his signing to October Records. Impressing peers alike, the highly anticipated release captured the attention of the triple j audience from the first listen, with Genesis Owusu coming on board as an official feature artist. The bass-heavy single utilises samples from Touch Sensitive, San Cisco, Vallis Alps, Alison Wonderland, and the hard-hitting intensive vocals of Genesis Owusu, combining them with intensive breakdowns and a distinctive didgeridoo-infused bass drop. Moss elevates the defiant raps of Genesis Owusu, leaning into his Indigenous heritage for a dramatic production that finds its home on October Records. On the response to ‘SABRE TEETH’, Moss said, “The response to SABRE TEETH so far has been mind blowing. From the triple j text line to Instagram comments, everyone has shown such love for the track. Genesis Owusu’s vocals hit with such a powerful message and I wanted to connect that with my Indigenous heritage. I’m so glad everyone who’s listening is also connecting with that too.” Moss has combined his flair for emotive production and his passion for storytelling with the release of ‘SABRE TEETH’’, which received critical acclaim among many in the industry. triple j Breakfast presenter Ebony Boadu said, “This is easily the sickest drop I’ve heard this year.” While the upload on Unearthed received high praise from the likes of Lucy Smith, Dave Ruby Howe, Declan Byrne, and many more. The track has quickly become one of the most played on the station, while also receiving online support from the likes of NME and The Music Network. Moss releases ‘SABRE TEETH (feat. Genesis Owusu)’ via October Records.

Already showcasing the light and shade across their 2021 releases as the forthcoming album title ‘Dichotomy’ so aptly suggests, Perth duo SLUMBERJACK share their latest blend of dark pop ‘Not For You’. For the release, the pair have teamed up Sydney’s own Nicole Millar – the talented singer-songwriter who has become one of the most sought after topliners after breaking through on Peking Duk’s record ‘High’, before going on to have an incredible solo career, with her debut LP ‘Excuse Me’ featuring a string of hit singles including ‘Tremble’, ‘Blindfolded’, and ‘Signals’. The new single perfectly complements each of the artist’s individual styles, whilst coming together to create a  seamless and magnetic component of the wider debut album due later this year. Detailing the contrast in their own style, the duo share, “For us, this song is all about that moment, right at the start of the chorus, where it feels like you’ve just executed the perfect double bounce on a trampoline and you’re absolutely floating. Definitely our bounciest record to date – which fits perfectly in the Dichotomy of the album, we wanted to explore both ends of the spectrum and you can’t have the darker stuff without the fun and playful records. Nicole also was incredible on this one, we went back and forth on so many amazing versions of the song but we felt like we nailed the one that made the final recording!”  Speaking on the opportunity to finally collaborate, Nicole shares “The boys and I have been friends for years and I’ve always been a big fan of their music. I had written a rough idea in LA a while ago and it had just been sitting on my laptop. I sent the idea to the boys and they fell in love, after working back and forth together they just really turned this song into something special. I’m so excited for everyone to hear ‘Not For You’.” Carving out their own unique space in the dance music scene in Australia, SLUMBERJACK have continued to prove themselves as innovators amongst their peers. • Golden Features Returns With News Single ‘Touch’ golden-features-touch-2022-oz-edm

The wait is over! Acclaimed Australian electronic producer Golden Features today makes his highly anticipated return with his rousing new single “Touch” featuring Rromarin. Golden Features has turned out to be an apt name for the artist born Tom Stell, a nod to the gold mask he wears while performing. “Touch” marks the first taste of new music from Stell’s Golden Features, after a literal golden run since bursting onto the scene in 2014. Since his 2018 debut album SECT and the launch of 2020’s collaborative project BRONSON (with ODESZA), Stell felt creatively spent and needed time to recoup. Instead of opting for the traditional R&R approach, Stell emersed himself deep into clubbing mecca of the world, Berlin. There, he lost himself in the city’s renowned techno bunkers and hedonistic clubs, dancing with strangers, stripped of phones and returning to the apartment in the early hours to hunt for the tracks he’d heard the night before. Four nights a week spent raving only came to an end when COVID closed the clubs down. But Stell returned to Australia revitalised and most importantly, inspired. “Touch” encapsulates everything Stell took away from his invigorating stint in Berlin. A track that’s both moody and light, layered with pulsating rhythm, hypnotic beats and the duelling deep and wispy vocals of Rromarin. “Touch was born from that synth riff. I fought it for so long, feeling it was too happy and upbeat. After giving it some space I reharmonized everything under the riff and it instantly made me feel something. Claire (Rromarin) had actually recorded these vocals for another song on the record, but the lyrics just felt right for Touch” says Stell on the new single. “To me it encapsulates that feeling after the rave… At the kick-on laying with your head in somebody’s lap, smoking a cigarette while they play with your hair.” Now with two platinum and six gold ARIA certifications for his tracks, 275+ million global streams, an acclaimed and beloved debut album in 2018’s SECT (#1 ARIA Dance Albums Chart, #1 iTunes, Triple J’s Feature Album), selling out two shows in 4 hours at the Sydney opera House, headline slots at major festivals both at home and abroad as well as forming the BRONSON project and releasing their self-titled album with stadium-conquering US electronic duo ODESZA under his belt, Golden Features has cemented himself as Australian electronic music royalty, returning now as an artist at the top of their game. Stay tuned for more to come from Golden Features, in the meantime listen to the new single “Touch” below!

He was a finalist in the Unearthed DIY Supergroup competition and also made his triple j Like A Version debut, delivering a stellar rework of Toto’s ‘Africa’, alongside a mashup of ‘CEO’ and ‘Jungle Juice’ with the help of KLP. Dave was also handpicked to remix Darude’s ubiquitous classic ‘Sandstorm’ for a major Christmas TV campaign. Over his career Dave has collaborated with the legendary Armin Van Buuren on ´The Race´, and produced official remixes for Twenty One Pilots, David Guetta, Bastille, Anne-Marie, Clean Bandit, Hardwell, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Adam Lambert, and Galantis, proving himself to be one of Australia’s most prolific electronic acts, racking up over 65 million streams on Spotify alone. • Wongo Unleashes New Hit ‘The Preacher’ the-preacher-wongo-oz-edm

Wongo Helps Us See The Light With ‘The Preacher’ Featuring The Legendary Chuck Roberts. DJ, producer, former professional breakdancer and full-time funny man Wongo is ready to show us the light with his new single ‘The Preacher’. Featuring the legendary ‘voice of house music’ Chuck Roberts delivering a sermon-like vocal, ‘The Preacher’ encourages everyone to harness the power of love over adversity, delivered in a heater of a house track, with a sample from jazz artist Bob James. “Bob James is probably my favourite composer of all time by a long shot,” explains Wongo. “His ‘Shamboozie’ record had a huge effect on me from my b-boy days, so being able to sample one of his hits is a big deal for me! On top of that, having the lord Chuck Roberts on vocals… I’m done haha. Proper nostalgia vibes!” With a monthly radio show on Insomniac Radio in the US, numerous ARIA Club Chart #1s, sold-out tours, support from Mixmag, Billboard, Complex, Don Diablo, Claptone and Zeds Dead, amongst many more, Wongo is a force to be reckoned with. His most recent single ‘Apple’ hit #1 on the ARIA Club Chart, reached the top 20 of both the Shazam and Spotify Viral chart in Australia, and hit the most played spot on triple j, becoming the biggest club record in the country. Added to this, in 2020 Wongo launched his Need2Freak parties alongside Little Fritter, selling 3,000 tickets and calling on his mate FISHER to do a surprise B2B set. Need2Freek also hosted a stage at Grass Is Greener festival in Cairns in late 2021. In a scene dominated by DJs and producers, it is hard to believe that the most definitive moment in the birth of house music came not from beats, chords or vocals, but a sermon. The House Music Gospel or The Preacher’s Anthem are just a few of the descriptions anyone with even a passing interest in the genre will no doubt have heard in the impassioned intonation of “In The Beginning There was Jack, and Jack had a groove”, the opening line of Chuck Roberts’ soul stirring speech, a performance that was first heard in Rhythm Controll’s seminal 1987 track ‘My House’. Later resampled by Larry Heard, AKA Mr Fingers for ‘Can You Feel It’, often cited as the first deep house record ever released. As well as sampled on well over 120 various recordings. Roberts’ new sermon in ‘The Preacher’ once again delivers a soul-stirring message, letting people know that even in the face of adversity “what you need to know and understand and what you need to be able to stand on is this… there is a way out.” Wongo’s ‘The Preacher’ is primed for all b-boys and girls to get back on the dancefloor and know “the thing inside of us that can conquer any obstacle that’s placed in our way… this my friend is love.” Wongo’s latest hit, ‘The Preacher’ featuring Chuck Roberts is out now, get your first listen below!

We wanted to make a song that really showcased the power of her voice. The song is about the battles people go through being in love. We combined the simple beauty of pop with the power of breaks/drum and bass. I want to make dance music that has honesty and emotion – I think this song is that.” Rita Ora adds; ‘It’s been amazing to work with Netsky on ‘Barricades’. It’s an honour to get to work with such a talented producer, especially on a track like this. • ShockOne Announces Dark Machine Records 2022 Warehouse Tour Dates + Releases New Single shockone-dark-machine-records-oz-edm-2020-feature

Shockone & Lee Mvtthews team up on uplifting new dnb heavy hitter ‘thinkin about’ + announce AU/NZ Dark Machine Records warehouse tour . Perth based DnB master ShockOne has returned following recent hit ‘Follow Me’ which saw the artist continue to push the boundaries for the bass music scene. On this new track ‘Thinkin About’, ShockOne has teamed up with NZ music legends Lee Mvtthews to deliver an inspiring uptempo dance track with a fiery DnB bed. The track combines an ethereal vocal topline with classic club music elements including a huge bass line and textural drum beat that pushes the song into the mainstream with an infectious energy that is bursting at the seams. This collaboration sees both artists use their impressive experience and ability in creating dynamic bass focused music to deliver an instant classic in ‘Thinkin About’. Both being signed to the ShockOne founded Dark Machine Records, this collaboration is meant to be and the song speaks for itself in terms of musical synchronicity and likeminded artistry. On the collaboration ShockOne shares, “‘Thinkin About’ was a really fun track to work on with Lee Mvtthews. It’s our first collaborative effort and I’m stoked with how it came out. I feel like this song really captures that feeling of hedonism and reckless abandon when you’re out at a rave with mates. I hope the audience feels the same way!” Graham and Tom from Lee Mvtthews further share, “when Karl (ShockOne) sent us over the idea, there was nothing to think about, this was a no-brainer. It had all the elements of a great track, so we came in and connected the dots. With production reminiscent of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Kanine, and Flume, it’s the perfect blend of rave and radio. ‘The vocals were initially written for another track, so to us, it kind of felt like a remix, and sometimes there’s a magic in remixes seldom found in an original piece of work. This was a unique experience for us writing it and we hope it feels the same when listening to it.” ShockOne has been making waves in the dance and electronic music scene for the past decade with his 2013 debut album ‘Universus’ charting in the UK and New Zealand as well as landing at #1 in the ARIA album charts. After this success and touring extensively across Europe as well as remixing singles for iconic artists such as DJ Snake, Dillon Francis, NGHTMRE & What So Not, the talented producer has gone on to start his own label Dark Machine Records. This label was formed to help promote the extensive bass music scene across the region. In late 2020, ShockOne dropped hit single ‘Follow Me’ which was added to rotation on triple j, clocked over 6 million streams across platforms and appeared in the top 20 on the Shazam chart here in Australia. Lee Mvtthews are one of the biggest dance/electronic acts out of New Zealand / Aotearoa currently with a reputation for infectious, energetic drum and bass music. The pair have gone from strength to strength winning ‘Best Artist’ 3 years running at the George FM awards as well as ‘Best Electronic Artist’ at the Aotearoa Music Awards in 2020.  Across their discography the duo have amassed over 25 million streams with tracks like ‘Takeover’ reaching #17 on the Apple Music charts and #77 on Spotify Global charts. With all these past successes, Lee Mvtthews are looking to continue their exponential rise to the top of the electronic music heavens.
