    • Subtronics Confirms Sophomore Album “TESSERACT” subtronics-tesseract-oz-edm

The spiritual successor to “FRACTALS” arrives on February 16th, 2024. Subtronics, the maestro of bass music, has once again embarked on a journey into the realm of unstable particles with the announcement of his highly-anticipated sophomore album, “TESSERACT.” Following the success of his debut album, “FRACTALS,” released just over two years ago, Subtronics is gearing up to unveil the next chapter in his musical odyssey. Scheduled to drop on Friday, February 16th, “TESSERACT” not only shares its name with the bass music superstar’s current tour but also promises to redefine the boundaries of his sonic universe. The year 2024 has already proven to be a whirlwind for Subtronics, who recently announced his fourth Red Rocks takeover, “Cyclops Rocks,” and unleashed his second collaboration with Rezz, titled “Black Ice.” Reflecting on “TESSERACT,” Subtronics expressed his vision for the album as a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution. “I hope [TESSERACT] leaves a long-lasting impact on the listener and the dance music community as a whole. It is truly something I can look back on in 30 years and still be proud of because I know that this is the sound I am truly passionate about, and I really gave it my everything. This album is my second child, more than two years in the making, and I poured everything I could into it.” In conjunction with the album, the team behind Cyclops Recordings has meticulously crafted a bespoke audiovisual experience, perfectly complementing the otherworldly essence of “TESSERACT.” Commenting on the album’s sonic landscape, Subtronics elaborated, “Sonically speaking, I believe this wholly represents my personality and sound as best as I can thus far, with the things I have learned over the years, in conjunction with what I have recently been inspired by. ‘TESSERACT’ is a proper sequel to my first album ‘FRACTALS,’ and in the same sense, I once again aimed to demonstrate my range in style, sound, and emotion. Some songs are meant for the dancefloor, some are meant for the car, and some are meant to serenade you to sleep. I am trying as best I can to create an immersive alternative reality with a magical yet sci-fi-esque world of energy and feeling across the entire spectrum.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Subtronics (@subtronics)

REZZ Unveils ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE’ EP, Showcasing a Captivating Blend of Goth-Inspired Rocktronic Sounds. Renowned Canadian producer REZZ has unleashed her latest musical project, ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE’ EP, a mesmerizing exploration of goth-inspired rocktronic compositions that pay homage to her early musical influences. Released under her own label HypnoVizion, the EP ventures beyond the confines of mid-tempo bass music, featuring collaborations with rock and alternative heavyweights such as Silverstein, Grabbitz, Tim Henson of Polyphia, and Johnny Goth. The focus track of the EP, “Dreamstate,” transports listeners to the realm of massive emo hits from the 2000s, infused with a strikingly modern and heavy bassline that only REZZ could conceive. This project signifies the evolution of REZZ as she confidently steps into her “goth era,” pushing creative boundaries and expanding her sonic palette. Reflecting on the inspiration behind ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE,’ REZZ shares, “With this goth EP, I’ve really encapsulated some of my early inspiration musically before I even got into dance music. I grew up listening to bands exclusively, and over time developed an understanding of what it was about those songs that I loved. Lots of use of guitar, eerie melodies, and distorted basses – this is a blend between sounds I’m known for while also expanding on my range with using new vocal styles & instruments.” Having garnered tremendous success throughout her career, REZZ has amassed tens of millions of streams to date and achieved sold-out performances at legendary venues worldwide. She has headlined renowned festivals including Coachella, Austin City Limits, EDC, Electric Forest, Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, and more. Notably, her collaboration with Grabbitz, “Someone Else,” released via RCA Records in 2020, amassed over 50 million streams, reached #15 on the Alternative Radio Chart in the US, and secured the #1 position in Canada. REZZ’s remarkable live performances have enthralled audiences worldwide, with her five consecutive sold-out shows at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, including two nights scheduled for August 2023. With over 300 performances to her name, REZZ has consistently sold out venues ranging from 3,500 to 10,000 capacity, while also captivating festival crowds of over 50,000 attendees. The ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE’ EP follows the success of previous releases including ‘Blue In The Face,’ ‘Signals,’ and the recent single ‘Embers.’ Through this latest offering, REZZ continues to cement her position as an innovative and genre-defying artist.

Maya Jane Coles releases the next project under her Nocturnal Sunshine alias, joining forces with mysterious rapper CHA$EY JON£S on brand-new EP ‘LDN’, out now. Growing up in west London in the mid-00s, much of Maya’s influences were within the rap and hip-hop worlds, something reflected in this latest EP, ‘LDN’ which offers fans a rarely-seen glimpse into what Maya might sound like if she hadn’t pursued a career in electronic music. Under the Nocturnal Sunshine moniker, Maya explores grittier musical themes and on ‘LDN’ has teamed up with rapper, actor (Top Boy, I May Destroy You), and childhood friend CHA$EY JON£S, to redress the balance. Years later, to be making music again with one of my best mates feels like magic. ‘LDN’ is a collection of the first tracks we made when we started working together again. We’ve been working on so much material and this is only the beginning of what’s to come.” It’s been more than ten years since British-Japanese artist Maya Jane Coles unleashed the modern house classic ‘What They Say’. • Carnage’s Final Shows To Be Held at Australia’s Lunar Electric carnage-thank-you-farewell-tour-scaled-feature-oz-edm

After a whirlwind fourteen years in the dance music industry, famed Festival Trap founder Carnage has announced his retirement at the age of 31. Carnage’s groundbreaking work in the early 2010s helped usher in a new genre called “festival trap,” a thunderous, 808-heavy twist on the saturated electro music that dominated festivals at the time. Buoyed by a thriving SoundCloud community, festival trap quickly became a movement—and Carnage was its vanguard. While dance music was his primary focus, Carnage’s brushstroke painted a far more colorful mosaic in the music community. He operated as a prolific hip-hop producer, collaborating with a myriad of the world’s top rappers, such as Mac Miller, Migos, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug and Meek Mill, among many others. Lunar Electric is set to host the final two performances from Carnage after he announced his farewell to the dance music community earlier this month. • Moss Has Heart-Melting Bass On ‘Speed Dial’ In Latest Release With BRIA moss-speed-dial-oz-edm-feature-2021

Australia’s rising star Moss returns with a heavy-hitting follow up to ‘SABRE TEETH’, releasing ‘SPEED DIAL (feat. BRIA)’ via October Records. After making a splash with his triple j Unearthed DIY Supergroup winning track, Moss picks up where ‘SABRE TEETH (feat. Genesis Owusu)’ left off, introducing the single with subtle didgeridoo vibrations before the foot is pressed down on the sonic gas pedal. The Indigenous producer’s aptitude for utilising dynamic drums and powerful bass to evoke atmospheric and emotive narratives is on full display. He teams with Brisbane-based up-and-coming singer/songwriter BRIA who’s pertinent vocals centred around the uncertainty and instability of online dating, provide the perfect hook. Moss discusses the single and the direction of his sound saying, “I’ve teamed up on this record with powerhouse singer/ songwriter BRIA and we’ve built something very special. SPEED DIAL is the sonic infusion of the ups and downs of online dating – especially when they don’t text back. This single represents a development of my sound and I can’t wait for you to hear it. All gas, no brakes.” On the narrative behind the record, BRIA said, “The idea for SPEED DIAL came out of the 2020 Brisbane COVID lockdown. After everyone was exclusively online dating, I found hookup culture was more present than ever. Moss’ dramatic production was the perfect accompaniment for my narrator’s situationship.” Brisbane talent BRIA, who amassed a sizable online following across TikTok and Instagram, recently released her debut single ‘Taking It Off’. The track has seen airplay on triple j and acclaim from Declan Byrne, Tommy Faith, Abby Butler, and Dave Ruby Howe on triple j Unearthed. Embracing femininity and sensuality within her craft, she takes influences from the likes of Charli XCX, Lorde, and Caroline Polachek. Sydney-based producer, Moss rose to prominence earlier this year after taking out the triple j Unearthed DIY Supergroup competition, with his release ‘SABRE TEETH’, before announcing his signing to October Records. Sampling the likes of Alison Wonderland, Touch Sensitive, San Cisco, Vallis Alps, and Genesis Owusu, the latter of which jumped on as a feature artist, Moss crafted a very Australian moment, yet it was his iconic didgeridoo bass drop that impressed triple j presenters and listeners alike. The track went on to become one of the most played on the station, with Moss appearing on triple j’s Friday Mix, and Mix Up as part of NAIDOC week, while the single’s momentum carried it to the top of the Australian Shazam Chart. While ‘SABRE TEETH’ showcased Moss’ talent to a wider audience, the bass producer has been honing his craft with singles such as ‘From The Start’ and ‘Shimmer’ both of which premiered on triple j and rose the triple j Unearthed Electronic charts. Having already played alongside some of the heaviest hitters in the industry – Skrillex, RL Grime, Flosstradamus, Marshmello, just to name a few – Moss has positioned himself as a producer capable of rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s best.

Initially, I was working around a vocal sample, but teaming up with RayRay, we lifted the track to a new level. Tested during ADE – the track went off!! I can’t wait to play this out more and see the crowd respond. Having Steve and Dim Mak’s confidence in pushing this as the first of a new collaboration between myself and Dim Mak makes for an exciting start to 2024!” – Dyro RayRay adds, “It was fun to work with Dyro. He reached out to me with the floor-hitting production a few months ago, and we puzzled the ideas together and came up with the banger! I can’t wait to kick off my 2024 with ‘To The Beat’ collaboration with Dim Mak! Much appreciated for the support from Steve and the label!” Dyro’s journey to the upper ranks of the global electronic music scene has been fast and swift, marking him out amongst his peers as one of the most talented DJ/producers to emerge from what was an explosive new generation of artists. Starting out tipped by the likes of Hardwell, Laidback Luke, and Pete Tong, he soon garnered the attention of Diplo, Knife Party, and Martin Garrix, among others. Fast forward just a few short years & Dyro exploded as an entity in his own right, marking his steps in history by becoming the youngest ever highest entry in the acclaimed DJ Mag Top 100 poll, remaining in the top 30 echelons of this prestigious list for three consecutive years. Starting Out on an upward trajectory ever since his inaugural releases on Revealed Recordings, as a producer, Dyro continuously crafted and developed his sound and personal tastes via darker and more experimental strains of electronic music. The launch of his solo imprint WOLV saw Dyro further hone his original take on driving bass lines and grittier sounds. Come 2024, Dyro has collaborated with the greatest–ranging from Hardwell to Martin Garrix, Tiesto, and David Guetta–and lived up to remix duties for the likes of Martin Garrix, Benny Benassi and John Legend, Rihanna, David Guetta, and John K. With countless releases on industry-leading imprints to his name, he continues to elevate his strong, stable output. Recent years have seen him as a welcomed guest as part of the STMPD RCRDS family, Monstercat, and HEXAGON. Dropping fan favorite ‘Memory Bank’ in collaboration with Conro and landing a massive feature in Rocket League, as well as a summer-infused remix together with David Guetta of LF System’s ‘Afraid To Feel’ serve as just a few of his more recent highlights.
