With a catalogue of multi-platinum hits behind them, Australian trio PNAU continue to push boundaries with their sound and take their fans on a journey with their diverse and colourful productions. Now PNAU unveil their new single ‘Lucky’, a voyage of positivity and emotional ecstasy and the perfect antidote during these times of uncertainty. The uplifting ‘Lucky’ features Alister Wright from Vlossom on vocals, giving the song an ethereal quality, but still stamped with PNAU’s unmistakable dancefloor sensibilities.

Nick Littlemore explains the meaning behind the song; “Lucky came at a time of deep reflection during winter in Sydney last year.  I was in limbo without a visa to return home in Los Angeles; moving from low rent hotels to expired motels, couches and the like. Alister and I were yet to release any Vlossom music, but we were in a place of imagineering our possible futures. ‘Lucky’ represents that most golden future, shimmering just in the distance like over a frosty hill, approaching. Like a summer of love is on its way to you, full up of emotional ecstasy.”

‘Lucky’ brings two of Nick Littlemore’s myriad of creative ventures together in harmony, with Vlossom the newly-launched super-duo of Littlemore and Cloud Control’s Alister Wright. Having offered the first glimpse into Vlossom’s world-bending with their debut single ‘Catch Your Breath’ in late 2019, Vlossom recently released their debut EP, My Friend and lead single ‘Missing You’ to great acclaim, with The Line Of Best Fit saying the EP “delivers a slew of opportunities for listeners to immerse themselves in…whether you’re deep in your self-isolation thoughts or ready to dance and forget your problems.”

PNAU is the multi-platinum-selling, ARIA award-winning electronic act of Nick Littlemore (Empire of the Sun), Peter Mayes and Sam Littlemore, famed for their extensive career born out of the underground clubs and festival dancefloors of Australia. PNAU also hold the acclaimed title of giving Elton John his first UK No.1 album in 22 years when they collaborated with the legendary Rocketman on the 2012 album ‘Good Morning To The Night’. Sir Elton John discovered PNAU’s music on an Australian tour and handed over his enormous back catalogue of music to them to rearrange and remix – a moment of serendipity in PNAU’s stellar career, with their relationship with Elton continuing to this day.

With a catalogue of their own hits and multiple albums behind them, PNAU have enjoyed a powerful renaissance over the past few years, with multi-platinum hits ‘Go Bang’ and ‘Chameleon’ becoming inescapable on the airwaves in their home country of Australia and climbing the Billboard Dance charts in the US. 2019 singles ‘Solid Gold’ and ‘All Of Us’, embedded PNAU as the most cutting edge electronic act to watch on a global scale, finding a loyal fan base amongst the most influential decision makers at BBC Radio 1, triple j and streaming services across the globe.

    • Chromeo Unveil Sixth Album ‘Adult Contemporary’ chromeo-adult-contemporary-feature-oz-edm

Renowned electrofunk duo Chromeo, consisting of Dave 1 (Dave Macklovitch) and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel), presents their latest musical masterpiece, ‘Adult Contemporary.’ True to its name, ‘Adult Contemporary’ delves into the nuances of navigating funkiness in one’s 30s and 40s, offering a polished and sophisticated rendition of Chromeo’s signature infectious grooves and witty wordplay. As the duo reflects on the vibrant era of the early 2000s that propelled them to indie superstardom, they approach this new chapter with their trademark groove firmly intact. Throughout their illustrious career spanning five critically acclaimed LPs, Dave 1 and P-Thugg have crafted an electrofunk sound that has become synonymous with pop music. While their previous two albums leaned towards collaboration, ‘Adult Contemporary’ marks a return to Chromeo’s original formula, with Dave and Pee taking the reins as writers, producers, performers, and arrangers for every track. This album delves into the intimacy of their enduring relationship, forged over three decades of daily communication. After dedicating time to producing for artists like Omar Apollo, Blu De Tiger, Ian Isiah, and Onyx Collective, Chromeo retreated to their studios in LA and Brooklyn, clad in their signature double-breasted suits, to craft their most expansive, lyrically focused, and sonically polished record yet. With their trademark blend of humor and sincerity, ‘Adult Contemporary’ showcases Chromeo at their most authentic. While the album remains distinctly Chromeo, its few collaborations pay homage to the duo’s roots. Mixed by New York house legend Morgan Geist (known for Storm Queen and Metro Area) and mastered by French Touch pioneer Alex Gopher (associated with Phoenix and Air), ‘Adult Contemporary’ features a standout collaboration with longtime friend La Roux, reflecting Chromeo’s evolution over 15 years in the music industry. After nearly two decades of dazzling audiences with their shiny synths and sharp lyrics, Chromeo solidifies their status as masters of the groove with ‘Adult Contemporary.’ Their musical and visual language, refined over years of global touring, remains instantly recognizable, setting them apart as unparalleled innovators in the realm of contemporary funk. • The Midnight Announce 2024 Australian Tour the-midnight-2023-australian-tour-feature-oz-edm

Secret Sounds are delighted to announce that American synthwave band The Midnight will make their return to Australia in February/March 2024, setting stages on fire with headline performances in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. From their synth-heavy beginnings to arena rock chords and infectious pop hooks, The Midnight’s musical journey is one fuelled by insatiable curiosity. The duo lives at the intersection of varying paths, driven by the friction that fires when Southern-born singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle’s all-American dreamer tales meld with Danish-bred drummer and producer Tim McEwan’s cinematic soundscapes. Together, they form something deeper than house, vibier than pop, and altogether more exciting than the sum of its parts. The fan favourite track “WeMoveForward” from their 2014 debut EP Days of Thunder, was created during their very first encounter. The single’s euphoric rhythms, bittersweet synths and Lyle’s romantic lyricism lay the foundation for The Midnight’s signature style, a theme that continued all the way into their latest album Heroes. Infused with dramatic nostalgic streaks, The Midnight’s catalogue weaves its way from their debut LP Endless Summer, with its retro-futuristic feel, to the introspective reflections found in their follow-up record Kids. As they delved deeper into their emotions with the release of their fourth album, Monsters in 2020, their sound expanded and became more vibrant, reaching the Top 30 on the Australian pop charts and No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Created during the isolation of the COVID quarantine, their most recent release Heroes tackled the issue of loneliness by inviting the whole world to dance under one roof, celebrating shared human connection. Infused with slivers of Springsteen, The Police, AC/DC and an electrifying arena rock spirit, Heroes weaves together a fusion of sexy-but-sensitive sing-alongs made to be belted by a room full of music lovers. With the new album, the duo has hit new heights on stage, moving on from club rooms to selling out iconic venues such as London’s Brixton Academy. They have also expanded their live performance by welcoming Lelia Broussard on bass, Royce Whittaker on guitar, and Justin Klunk on saxophone and synth. The Midnight are ready to unleash their live set for fans around Australia next February/March! Presale is available from 9am local time Thursday 21 September. Tickets go on sale to the general public from 9am local time Friday 22 September.
