    • Seven Lions & Blastoyz Join Forces On New Single ‘Reason For Fighting’ seven-lions-blastoyz-reason-for-fighting-feature-oz-edm

      Seven Lions and Blastoyz reunite for their second collab “Reason For Fighting”. Since its live debut in 2020, the track has become one of the most highly anticipated releases on the label and follows their latest collab “After Dark” off Seven Lions’ Start Again EP. Featuring three powerful drops, “Reason For Fighting” weaves through psytrance and melodic bass to blur the lines between a mainstage anthem and underground heavy-hitter with triumphant vocals from ERV ELLO. From Ultra Music Festival to EDC Mexico, the track has marked showstopping moments at festivals around the country over the past few months. Most recently, Seven Lions and Blastoyz reunited on Beyond Wonderland’s mainstage to showcase the track one last time before its release. Washington-based producer Seven Lions has never had an issue pushing the boundaries of electronic music to fulfill his creative vision. Catching a break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past ten years. After releasing on a plethora of labels, Seven Lions founded Ophelia Records in 2018 which has since become a leading independent label in the melodic bass subgenre. Since its emergence only four years ago, the label has already made an imprint in the dance music scene having been voted Dancing Astronaut’s Label Of The Year in 2021, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers and showcases around the country. Seven Lions’ productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and HARD. Later this year, he’ll be playing shows at Forbidden Kingdom, Escapade Music Festival, Project Glow and more. Israeli DJ, musician and producer Kobi Nigreker, better known as Blastoyz, has cemented himself as one of the leading artists in the psytrance scene over the past few years.       Abraxis, Seven Lions’ psytrance alter alias with the duo Dimibo, is releasing their first single in over a year and their fourth ever release with the single “Black Rainbow”. The track is a fan favorite, known for its cryptic dialogue and multiple high energy, show-stopping drops. “Black Rainbow” releases the day before the third installment of Seven Lions’ festival Chronicles at the Gorge Amphitheatre, where they’ll be playing a special costumed set with new show visuals to over 10,000 fans in attendance. Abraxis is a conceptual psytrance project formed by melodic bass powerhouse Seven Lions (Jeff Montalvo) and Washington based psytrance duo Dimibo (Filip Pankovcin & Loch Stimpson). They first worked together in 2017 on their remix of Excision’s dubstep hit The Paradox, and over the next two years they performed numerous back to back sets at festivals and clubs across the country. In mid 2019 the trio announced they would officially be combining forces with the creation of Abraxis, the project set to debut at Insomniac’s Dreamstate festival that November. Abraxis has released three singles so far; Old Gods, Night Rider, and Half of It. While their sound is firmly rooted in psytrance, the three producers incorporate a wide range of production techniques and musical genres, giving their music a unique hybrid feel. Abraxis’ set was one of the highlights of Dreamstate SoCal 2019, with a festival closing set to a fully packed tent on the second night.
