Seven Lions teams up with SLANDER for their highly anticipated collaboration “First Time,” which melds heavy bass and euphoric melodies for a masterful representation of both artists’ sounds. Also featuring producer Dabin and artist Dylan Matthew, “First Time” delivers blissful melodies, dreamy basslines and colorful emotions, making for a cathartic listening journey. The record comes at a very exciting moment for both artists; Seven Lions recently launched his massive “The Journey 2” tour, while SLANDER kicked off their “The Headbangers Ball” tour and are experiencing huge success with their Gud Vibrations brand. The collaboration is out now on Seven Lions’s imprint Ophelia Records.

SLANDER are known for their massive collaboration with NGHTMRE dubbed “Gud Vibrations” – a name that the producers have also used for their recently launched co-owned record label. The LA-based duo has recently released two notable tracks with vastly different sounds: “Kneel Before Me” with Crankdat featuring heavy metal band Asking Alexandria and “You Don’t Even Know Me” with RIOT. SLANDER is in the midst of headlining their “The Headbangers Ball” North American tour, hitting major cities like Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Miami, Houston, and Chicago and taking over festivals like Ultra Mexico and Holy Ship 12.0. Check out the full tour and grab tickets here.

Seven Lions recently released his four-track “Start Again” EP featuring vocals by Fiora and a collaboration with Blastoyz, which was widely regarded as one of his most emotionally intensive and poignant works yet. Seven Lions has become known for his combination of meaningful lyrics, lush soundscapes and dance floor-friendly basslines, and both the “Start Again” EP and “First Time” are prime exhibits of his unique sound. Seven Lions fans have more to look forward to within the rest of this year while he is continuing “The Journey 2” with support from Jason Ross, Au5, and MitiS. Tickets for “The Journey 2” are available now and can be purchased here.

Dabin is no stranger to working with Seven Lions, as he’s previously released material on Ophelia Records and remixed the anthemic “Freesol”. The Toronto native also just released a new single called “Altitude” with Fytch. Dabin has been working to incorporate live instruments into his shows and has performed live alongside Illenium and Said The Sky.

    • Cosmic Gate Announce Livestream From Mexico + World Premiere of New Single cosmic-gate-live-stream-oz-edm-feature

The front end of 2022 sees GRAMMY-nominated duo Cosmic Gate up their livestream game once again. With EDM.com hailing them amongst their 10 Best DJ Sets of 2021 (alongside Illenium, Skrillex, Amelie Lens, Porter Robinson & others), the impression CG left on the livestream landscape couldn’t have been bigger. “MOSAIIK showcased, said the outlet, a darker, more techno-influenced sound and their Miami Open Skies DJ set in March moonlighted as their opening act”. Jan 19 is the date and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is the place for their next throw-down, where – on the impossibly picturesque Playa Del Caballo and its Casitas Maraika venue, Nic & Bossi will deliver another astonishing 2hr livestream. Casting all winter chills aside, the set promises much in terms of ’22-hot material, not least of which will be their killer new single ‘We Got The Fire’. Following the new artistic path blazed by releases like ‘Blame’ and ‘Nothing To Hide’, Cosmic Gate have gone all-guns to create the first anthem of 2022. The track features the voice of Italian-English singer Olivia Sebastianelli, who Nic & Bossi first encountered whilst remixing Andrew Rayel’s ‘Everything Everything’. Olivia’s (per The Guardian newspaper) “rich, huskily emotive voice” lends ‘Fire’ a complex balance, that’s caught between regret and hope. Building that fire under it, Nic & Bossi construct a production that balances early smoulder with later-stage flame. Turning that Cosmic Gate heat up again, ‘We Got The Fire’ is out Friday Jan 21. The single is the first music to come from ‘MOSAIIK Chapter Two’, which – after the fan-embrace first act, must surely rank as Cosmic Gate’s most anticipated LP to date. With further precursor singles arriving ahead of its release, the full album sees the light at the end of May.

    • Seven Lions & Jason Ross Release Collaborative EP ‘See You Again’ seven-lions-jason-ross

Seven Lions and Jason Ross reunite on their second collaborative EP ‘See You Again’. The EP acts as the spiritual successor to the hugely successful ‘Ocean’ EP from 2018, which also consisted of an emotive vocal melodic dubstep lead single with a trancier B-side. Frequent collaborator and fan-favorite singer Fiora brings her enchanting voice and melodies once again to Seven Lions and Jason Ross’ masterful melodic bass production on “See You Again” while the peak time, festival-ready track “Orpheus” sees a release after years of being teased at festivals. Producer Seven Lions has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Catching his break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca Records, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past eight years. After years of floating around from labels, Seven Lions compiled his own label in 2018 called Ophelia Records. Since its emergence, the melodic bass label has made its imprint being voted the Best Label of 2019 by r/edm, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers across the country. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (New York and Las Vegas), Electric Forest, Electric Zoo, South by Southwest, and HARD. Jason Ross’ footprint as a diversified electronic music artist continues to grow deeper. He’s produced with Seven Lions on their anthems ‘Higher Love’ and ‘Ocean,’ collaborated with Above & Beyond on remixes, and played some of the world’s most renowned venues like Red Rocks, The Gorge and The Hollywood Palladium. His tracks have received support from prominent producers including Armin Van Buuren, Slander, Kaskade, Avicii and many more. Continuing on an active 2020 that saw Jason release an album, as well as multiple livestream projects, 2021 has been no less busy. Jason released a 4 track EP in May titled Convergence, featuring the standout singles “One More Day” with Blanke and Chandler Leighton, and “Wild Ones” with Nevve. In 2020 he released his debut artist album, 1000 Faces, that features prominent bass music collaborators such as Seven Lions and Dabin, and vocal collaborators and writers like Melanie Fontana, RUNN, and Dia Frampton. To date, the record has amassed over 16 million streams on Spotify. Jason also hosted his own weekly Twitch mix show in partnership with the biggest music channel on the platform – Insomniac.

    • Giuseppe Ottaviani Unleashes New Single ‘The Wind in Your Face’ giuseppe-ottaviani-oz-edm-2021-the-wind-in-your-face

Italian master of trance Giuseppe Ottaviani returns with progressive new trance hit. We ask in all seriousness, is there any producer in the trance realm as all-out dependable as Giuseppe Ottaviani? Having just last month notched a new vocal high with his and Monika Santucci’s heart-stealing ‘With You’, the Italian now expands that envelope again with another stylistically-open-world single. Following ‘With You’s suit, ‘The Wind In Your Face’ marks a subtle but unmistakable modification to Giuseppe’s sound. Whilst still speaking in the most powerful of production manners, it sees him cool the 138 pace and click over into the solo & instrumental space. Backed by a raft of ear-catching FX, attention-to-production-detail and astute studio sleight of hand, he hooks ‘The Wind In Your Face’ around one elemental, yet devastating effective superstring. Hovering inside a stylistic connexion, the track plays with trance, progressive and techno themes, never though tipping its balance fully one way or the other. Elaborate in production, it has a wide-open-space feel to it, which – going into 2022 – is precisely where Giuseppe Ottaviani wants to be. Change is in ‘The Wind’ for Giuseppe; the track touches down on streaming and sales sites this week .

    • Above & Beyond Reunite With Justine Suissa On ‘Almost Home’ above-and-beyond-flying-by-candlelight-oz-edm-feature

UK trance group Above & Beyond have teamed up with Justine Suissa for new single “Almost Home.” Arriving as Above & Beyond’s first club track of the year, ‘Almost Home’ sees the British trance trio join forces with iconic vocalist Justine Suissa. Suissa is no stranger to Above & Beyond as she’s collaborated with the group for close to twenty years. From the joint project of Oceanlab and releasing the chart topping album The Sirens Of The Sea, to becoming a mainstay collaborator on hits such as “Alright Now,” “On A Good Day,” and “Little Something” the return of Justine Suissa has been welcomed by fans worldwide. An emotional release for both the artists and fans alike, ‘Almost Home’ is set to be one of the most special releases of this year, and it also coincides with their massive upcoming ABGT450 event in London this September. Releasing their first track together in over four years, both parties have created a sense of unity and power within this track and it has come just at the right time. Driving synths carry Justine Suissa’s unique, powerful vocals forward, creating a strong foundation to build upon. Uplifting and energetic yet filled with passion and emotion at the same time, this is the beauty of an Above & Beyond and Justine Suissa collaboration. “This is a track that we originally wrote with Justine some years ago. Like many musicians during the lockdown, we buried ourselves in the studio and had plenty of time to pick through old ideas. ‘Almost Home’, with its ’80s production influences, caught our ear. We sent it across to Justine again, and she rewrote the second verse to reflect her feelings on it today – we won’t tell you what it’s about though, we’ll leave that for you to decide. This track started in quite a different form, so we’ve also done a Club Mix to bring it a bit more up-to-date. It’s quite emotional to think that we’ll be able to play this one live for you all very soon. Take care for now!” – Above & Beyond Out now on Beatport and all popular streaming platforms, get your first listen of “Almost Home” below!

Bass music innovator Kill The Noise announces his first album in 6 years and first major body of work on Ophelia Records. “Don’t Look Back” marks his first single on the label in over 2 years and is his first non-collab release since his debut album in 2015. • Hydraulix Releases Debut LP ‘Imposter Syndrome’ hydraulix-oz-edm-2021-feature

Forward-thinking Australian DJ and producer Hydraulix is pleased to present his innovative debut album Imposter Syndrome, a versatile mélange of freeform bass hybrids, drum and bass, dubstep, rap, hip-hop, pop, and trap. The 20-track LP arrives after a string of highly-regarded lead singles: “Waratah” with Nitti Gritti, “Another Minute” ft. Muchi, “Concrete” ft. Jasiah, “Wish I’d Never Met You” with Veronica Bravo, and “Wrench” with Doctor P. A product of lockdown-induced insecurity and feelings of self-doubt, Imposter Syndrome sees Hydraulix tackle his inner demons by creating his most sonically captivating body of work yet. Imposter Syndrome is available to stream now via WAKAAN. Hydraulix is no stranger to WAKAAN, Liquid Stranger’s esteemed label. Following the release of his 2019 Space Cadet EP – his official label debut –  he became a fixture on the beloved imprint, churning out groundbreaking singles such as “Let Em Drip,” and landing top billing spots on numerous WAKAAN festival stage takeovers. In early 2020, he was riding the momentum of his debut U.S. tour before being stopped in his tracks by the onset of the global pandemic. Forced to return home to his native city of Melbourne and into a strict lockdown, the distraction and adrenaline that came from his fast-paced lifestyle quickly slipped into a slow-burning comedown. “One thing that I’ve always struggled with is the feeling of not knowing what I was doing most of the time or not deserving my success and accomplishments,” Hydraulix explains. With newfound time to reflect on his career, he was met with an emotional epiphany that doubled as the main inspiration behind his debut album. “When COVID hit last year, everything changed for me; my US tour got cut short and I go back home [to Australia] and straight into lockdown. After facing the reality of things, I realised I had been dealing with a case of ‘imposter syndrome’ for quite some time,” Hydraulix notes. “It was a tricky time and I wanted to push myself to create something that truly tested me and my production skills. The concept of ‘Imposter Syndrome’ really hit home for me, and I knew it would be a fitting title for the album.” Imposter Syndrome packs in everything that Hydraulix is known for – hard-hitting bass, uncompromising drops, euphoric highs, and pulsating dubs – together with new sounds and collaborations that see him step out of his comfort zone. The familiarity of high-octane dubstep and bass cuts “Waratah,” a high-profile collaboration with Nitti Gritti, “System Malfunction,” “Take Control,” and “Break Em Down” is complemented by his raw, stripped-back take on bedroom hip-hop, radio-primed EDM, bass-metal, alternative rap, and drum and bass. Perhaps most impressive of all, however, is how Hydraulix recruited 16 co-collaborators and featured artists, each one a leader in their respective sonic spaces, to help refine and elevate his creative vision. Ohio-based genre-bending up-and-comer Jasiah lends his unfiltered grungy vocals on the bass-metal “Concrete”; longtime collaborator and friend DJ Afterthought injects his hip/hop bass twinge into “Dream”; singer-songwriter and fellow Aussie Veronica Bravo helps him transform “Wish I’d Never Met You” into a slice of dreamy pop/dance perfection; alternative trap breakout star Trippythakid merges his liquid flow with the slick bass production in “Mind Over Matter.” Aiming to push his boundaries as far as possible, he even called upon legendary Australian musician and didgeridoo player Charlie McMahon to add a unique instrumental touch to “Ridgy.” A truly diverse listening experience that holds power as the constant, Imposter Syndrome eases into its conclusion with the hazy, hip-hop-drenched “Another Minute” ft. Muchi, which begs listeners to stay and spin the record once more. It’s hard to believe that Imposter Syndrome is Hydraulix’s debut album given its impeccable structure. His most well-rounded and complete work to date, Imposter Syndrome positions Hydraulix as a leader that is no longer confined to the bass music space, but one that is ready to take over all facets of musical subgenres with an optimistic demeanor and an added dose of self-assurance. TRACKLIST: 1. Syndrome 2. Concrete ft. Jasiah 3. Smokin’ 4. Power Up ft. Wavehi & Edris Ali 5. Ridgy ft. Charlie McMahon 6. Waratah w/ Nitti Gritti 7. 4REAL ft. IndySauce 8. Dream w/ Afterthought ft. • Teddy Cream Team Up With Atlanta’s Benji Reyes & Truent For ‘Dancer’ teddy-cream-dancer-oz-edm-2021

Australian duo Teddy Cream are back in full force with a hip hop flavoured dance track that screams party. ‘Dancer’ is a collab with Atlanta’s Benji Reyes; the renowned producer who has made a name for himself flipping tunes and going viral with millions of hits across YouTube and TikTok. Lending his vocals to ‘Dancer’ is artist, rapper, and singer-songwriter Truent, whose style is inspired by chart-topping rappers such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Eminem and many more. “Dancer is one of our favourite records and collaborations with artists living over 15,000 kms away,” explain Teddy Cream. “We all have a little dancer in us and we hope this song we loved making can help people get up and get dancing, especially as it comes into spring/summer in Australia.” “I always wanted to make a dance song with some hip hop elements sprinkled in,” says Benji Reyes. “My favourite part is definitely the drop. When the hook comes in and you hear the catchy line, added with the groovy bass line, it’s hard not to want to bob your head or get up and dance.” Vocalist Truent adds, “Me and Benji have worked on previous records together and I loved how those came out, so I knew it would be easy to make another hit. Teddy Cream added their sauce and gave us that extra push to turn our demo into a hit record!” Teddy Cream is Brandon Mangion and Vincent Calderone, two lifelong friends who began producing together at 13, touring at 18, and dominating dance music not long after. In 2017, their reworks of Sonia Dada’s ‘Lover’ and Daryl Braithwaite’s hit ‘Horses’ climbed the ARIA Club Charts and Spotify Viral Chart and amassed over 4.5 million combined streams. Their 2019 release ‘Summer Jam’ has over 5 million streams and charted across Europe, with follow up singles ‘Home’ and ‘Better Now’ proving them a force to be reckoned with in the dance music landscape. Known for their high energy DJ sets, their live videos have already amassed over 6 million likes on TikTok and tens of millions more views on Facebook. Benji Reyes is a music producer/DJ from Atlanta, Georgia. He started his music career a few years ago by doing unofficial remixes of popular songs namely Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’ and Post Malone’s ‘Congratulations’ which went viral on Vine and TikTok alike amassing millions of streams. Following on from his successful remixes he began releasing original music independently in 2018 and his first song, ‘Double Tap’ gained millions of views on YouTube. Truent is a recording artist, rapper, and singer-songwriter from Cartersville, Georgia. He started writing raps at the age of 15 and recording original songs at 18. Truent is known for his versatility, melodic style, catchy hooks, and intricate flows which culminate to the qualities of a true hit maker. A dance pop tune sprinkled with dark hip-hop elements like ‘Dancer’ is bound to make crowds go wild, and with Teddy Cream returning to the touring circuit in early 2022, dancefloors won’t know what hit them.

    • Illenium & Thirty Seconds To Mars Drop “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” Collaboration illenium-wouldnt-change-a-thing-thirty-seconds-to-mars-fearture-oz-edm

Multiplatinum cross-genre phenomenon, artist, producer, and DJ ILLENIUM unveils his latest single entitled “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” featuring Thirty Seconds To Mars. The song notably marks the first new music from legendary, record breaking band Thirty Seconds To Mars in three years. “Wouldn’t Change A Thing” sets the stage for the Deluxe Edition of ILLENIUM’s fourth full-length album, FALLEN EMBERS, on October 22, 2021. It will be the inaugural release under his newly minted deal with Warner Records. The single fuses ILLENIUM’s immersive and cinematic production with a heavenly and hypnotic vocal melody from Thirty Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto. Backed by Shannon Leto’s powerful drums, icy synths pulsate in the background before a shuddering dancefloor-ready groove takes hold. Meanwhile, Jared Leto projects the hook loud and clear, “No matter what happens, she’s a fatal attraction to me. I wouldn’t change a thing.” In the accompanying Visualizer, images of flames, rain, and sparks underline the track’s emotional intensity, bringing the words to life. For the Deluxe Edition, ILLENIUM notably reupped, reloaded, and recharged this opus with five new songs. Among the new material, Virtual Riot expands “Blame Myself” featuring Tori Kelly with a new Remix, heightening the tension and release with an unpredictable glitchy breakdown. From the frenetic bounce of “Hurt Like This” to the guitar-laden crunch of “Superhero,” ILLENIUM presents the most complete and comprehensive vision of Fallen Embers now. Now, he illuminates electronic music brighter than ever with Fallen Embers Deluxe Edition and much more to come.

    • Afrojack Unveils Fresh Remix of Nicky Romero’s “Okay” nicky-romero-afrojack-remix

Nicky Romero, MARF and Wulf’s summertime hit “Okay” receives a dancefloor-friendly remix from none other than dance music veteran Afrojack. Taking the original’s emotive vocals and gentle melodies, Afrojack turns the track on its head with a goosebump-inducing buildup and driving, rhythmic bassline that will drive crowds into a frenzy at the next festival or club night. The addition of classic big-room sounds and deep, growling bass is a testament to what has made Afrojack a fan favorite for over a decade. His sound fuses perfectly with fellow Dutch veteran Nicky Romero, making the remix of “Okay” a real treat for any dance music fan. More great remixes of “Okay” will be released on Protocol soon. It’s also worth mentioning that 2 months ago Nicky Romero remixed Afrojack & David Guetta’s hit “Hero.” After taking the world by storm with early hits such as “Legacy” with Krewella and #1 single “I Could Be The One” with Avicii, Nicky Romero quickly proved that his talent is ever-evolving and here to stay. After launching his Protocol Recordings imprint in 2012, the renowned performer, producer, and label head continued his personal successes with a string of high-profile releases, ranging from collaborations with Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Mike Williams & Amba Shepherd, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, W&W, DallasK & XYLØ, Timmy Trumpet and Steve Aoki & Kiiara to remixes for the likes of Robin Schulz, Kygo, Rita Ora, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Jess Glynne and more. While showcasing his label’s roster via his weekly Protocol Radio show, Nicky Romero continues to innovate and evolve during these unprecedented times in the music industry. In 2020 he launched his alter ego Monocule, which is dedicated to Nicky’s never-ending passion for darker and underground vibes. Nicky Romero keeps proving his ability to turn into gold everything he touches. Since he exploded onto the scene with his hit single “Take Over Control” with Eva Simons over a decade ago, Afrojack has become one of the most influential music names in electronic dance music today. Over the last twelve years, the world-renowned Australian duo landed platinum records, topped the charts and toured the world with some of the biggest names in dance music.  With Tommy going solo, ‘Bombs Away’ shows no signs of slowing down. “I’m really excited to show our fans what’s next for Bombs Away,” states Tommy. “I’ve got so many projects, singles, videos and ideas everywhere and I just can’t wait to start this next chapter.” Tommy starts off this new solo chapter with a bang as he delivers the heavy hitting: ‘Don’t You Dare.’ The track blends the heavy electro and slap house sound Bombs Away is known for, with an emotional and infectious hook delivered by Tommy. “The creative process behind this project was over a year long and hit after the ending of a very serious relationship.  The lyrics basically wrote themselves, but it took multiple experimentations in the studio, to find the right energy and really give the song a feeling of empowerment, which was found through the driving bassline.” – Tommy Shades Supported by an upcoming music video entirely shot by Tommy, ‘Don’t You Dare’ shows a new side to the Bombs Away sound and perfectly follows up their 2021 singles ‘Love Magic’ and ‘In My Head.’ Bombs Away have had a stellar career to date, since their 2010 break-out hit and certified Gold record: ‘Big Booty Bitches.’ They quickly followed up with the Platinum records: ‘Party Bass’ and ‘Super Soaker’ and the Billboard charting ‘Better Luck Next Time.’ They have over 350 Million plays on their videos and music across all socials, streaming platforms and they hold down five concurrent Top 10 tracks on ARIA, Billboard, iTunes and Beatport charts.  Over the years the duo collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business, including Mr. Worldwide himself – Pitbull and the likes of: Krafty Kuts, The Potbelleez and Luciana. Most recently they released a remix of Maddox Jones’ ‘Can’t Wait for the Summer’ and the reimagined take on Des’ree’s 90’s hit: ‘You Gotta Be’ the latter of which broke onto the Billboard Dance charts.  Tommy Shades also recently joined the American / Australian production group RIP Youth, working on their recent hit single ‘Fake’ (feat. Ranger).  Tommy has a lot of music and collaborations in the works, as he takes over Bombs Away as a solo project.  Be sure to follow him on social media and get ready for the next bomb to drop.
