    • Giuseppe Ottaviani Announces New Album Horizons [Part 1] horizons-part-1-giuseppe-ottaviani-oz-edm-feature

In the eyes of fans, Giuseppe Ottaviani has remained the most steadfast producer in the genre. Famed for his resolutely exacting productions, there’s been a long-held perception of him as a ‘known-quantity’. For those prepared to look deeper though, there’s always been another side to the composer, performer, and most recently – through his Masterclass production series. Giuseppe’s been a deft and artful innovator – balancing out that dependability with hidden-in-plain-sight advancements. That characteristic has now been channelled into his ‘Horizons’ project. Giuseppe’s Live 2.0 & 3.0 performances essentially turned clubs into recording studios, in turn beginning the production processes for 2019’s ‘Evolver’ album. Earlier than that even, with 2016’s ‘Alma’, his ‘Slow Emotion’ tracks had already begun playing with the idea of what Giuseppe ‘was’. In tandem, they were essentially laying the foundation blocks for ‘Horizons’. Commenting on this “modification” (as Giuseppe terms it), he observes that “change seems to have become our ‘constant’ of late. As such, I imagine that something of this nature was always going to be reflected in the ‘Horizons’ albums”. What that modification means in real terms is “music produced with less of a clubfloor focus to it. Adaptable, certainly, he suggests, but at this moment in time, not reliant upon.” Ottaviani’s most predominant shift in concentration has been in tone and song. Specifically, that’s meant utilising sounds from outside of his usual remit and a greatly increased emphasis on deeply meaningful and relatable lyrics. Indeed, ‘Horizons’ and ‘Evolver’ hold their own unique symbiosis: ‘Evolver’ being purely instrumental, while ‘Horizons [Part 1]’ is vocal-detailed near enough throughout. That, to no small degree, was due to the prevailing circumstances. Clubs were closed, but singers and songwriters were anything but. This allowed Giuseppe all the time necessary to pinpoint the voices that would work best with the music he was producing and rally them to its cause. With the artistic taps wide-open, ‘Horizons’ productions became an outpour. To such a degree in fact, that it quickly spilled the banks of the conventional album and was divided, naturally enough, into two. Through its advance-word singles, ‘Horizons [Part 1]’ has already outlined a cooler, deeper, more mindful tone to fans. That – often for the first time – has brought voices well known in other electronic music quarters to trance’s door. Among them have been songstresses like Monika Santucci, April Bender, Mila Josef and Natalie Shay. Giuseppe also draws on deeper tones from vocalists like Jan Burton and Dan Soleil, all of who collectively shape the unique sound of ‘Horizons [Part 1]’. At every opportunity, Giuseppe gently underscores that the two volumes of ‘Horizons’ don’t necessarily represent a permanent change. It’s a vocal yin to ‘Evolver’s instrumental yang, a sonic amendment that chimes more with our current times and an reflection of an artist more adept at adapting than conventional wisdom suggests. Turning to face summer 2022, the first part of ‘Horizons’ – Giuseppe Ottaviani’s new album project, is released on May 20. You can pre-order or save it via this link from today. • MaRLo & Achilles Join Forces For ‘Nothing Is Left’ marlo-nothing-is-left-feature-oz-edm

Hot off the heels of chart topping hits including ‘This Way’ and ‘This Way,’ MaRLo join forces with Achilles a banging new record with elements of trance and techno that create a stellar production that is sure to stand out in both acts’ discographies. With massive drops, engaging melodies and vibrant sounds – the track is pretty much perfect. In 2016, Justine joined Above & Beyond during their sell-out ‘Acoustic II’ tour, which stopped at iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall in London and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. ‘Almost Home’ was released in September 2021, arriving just in time for their Group Therapy 450 milestone show at The Drumsheds London. ‘Almost Home’ has been on frequent rotation across SiriusXM BPM and iHeart Evolution and has been supported by the likes of The Chainsmokers, Armin van Buuren, and Oliver Heldens. He’s a mainstay on Ophelia Records, releasing two acclaimed studio albums on the label and collaborating with Seven Lions, Crystal Skies, RBBTS, and more. I’ve always loved their music since I started listening to dance music, so this is a full-circle moment for sure. So thankful for them and their whole team for this opportunity, and I hope everyone enjoys it.” – MitiS “This remix was a super fun project and a great pleasure because I have been a fan of Above & Beyond for years and when heard the vocal and the original it was a real nostalgic feeling of those good old rave days. Made about 5 different versions cause a million ideas popped into my head but I am super happy with the end result. I took a melodic house approach with lots of drama on the drops but still lots of space for the beautiful vocal to shine and it does.” – Ashibah Above & Beyond and Justine Suissa ‘Almost Home’ (The Remixes) is out now on Anjunabeats. • “Without You” Sees Kill The Noise & Seven Lions Reunite For Massive New Single kill-the-noise-seven-lions-without-you-oz-edm-feature

US dance music headliners Kill The Noise and Seven Lions reunite on “Without You”, the third lead single off Kill The Noise’s first album in 6 years, ‘EMBRACE’. This is the power duo’s third collaboration after releasing “Horizon” in 2018 with Tritonal and HALIENE and the dubstep-psytrance fan favorite “The Blood” in 2019. Singer Julia Ross, who’s achieved two Billboard #1 records as a co-writer for BTS, provides the perfect vocal performance over the groovy, driving house beat that switches to a huge melodic festival Ophelia Records 2021 banger in the second act. “Without You” continues the string of high performing collabs between the two producers and blends the best of their sound design, styles and melodic sensibility for another unforgettable, genre-blending track. The music of Jake Stanczak, better known as American producer and DJ, Kill the Noise, was born out of an era where Ridley Scott imagined utopian futures on the silver screen, and artists like NIN and Aphex Twin rocked MTV. After channeling the influences of his youth through over a decades’ worth of forward driven electronic releases (Roots, Kill Kill Kill, Black Magic, Occult Classic), and charismatic live shows (Coachella, EDC Lollapalooza, Hardfest), the name “Kill the Noise” has become synonymous with some of the leading acts in dance music — getting creative in the studio with the likes of Dillon Francis, Deadmau5, AWOLNATION and Skrillex — and as 2020 unfolds, he’ll be unveiling even more material. Producer Seven Lions has never had a problem breaking rules and transcending musical boundaries to satisfy his creative vision. Catching his break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca Records, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past eight years. After years of floating around from labels, Seven Lions compiled his own label in 2018 called Ophelia Records. Since its emergence, the melodic bass label has made its imprint being voted the Best Label of 2019 by r/edm, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers across the country. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (New York and Las Vegas), Electric Forest, Electric Zoo, South by Southwest, and HARD.

Perth based DnB master ShockOne has returned following recent hit ‘Follow Me’ which saw the artist continue to push the boundaries for the bass music scene. On this new track ‘Thinkin About’, ShockOne has teamed up with NZ music legends Lee Mvtthews to deliver an inspiring uptempo dance track with a fiery DnB bed. The track combines an ethereal vocal topline with classic club music elements including a huge bass line and textural drum beat that pushes the song into the mainstream with an infectious energy that is bursting at the seams. This collaboration sees both artists use their impressive experience and ability in creating dynamic bass focused music to deliver an instant classic in ‘Thinkin About’. Both being signed to the ShockOne founded Dark Machine Records, this collaboration is meant to be and the song speaks for itself in terms of musical synchronicity and likeminded artistry. On the collaboration ShockOne shares, “‘Thinkin About’ was a really fun track to work on with Lee Mvtthews. It’s our first collaborative effort and I’m stoked with how it came out. I feel like this song really captures that feeling of hedonism and reckless abandon when you’re out at a rave with mates. I hope the audience feels the same way!” Graham and Tom from Lee Mvtthews further share, “when Karl (ShockOne) sent us over the idea, there was nothing to think about, this was a no-brainer. It had all the elements of a great track, so we came in and connected the dots. With production reminiscent of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Kanine, and Flume, it’s the perfect blend of rave and radio. ‘The vocals were initially written for another track, so to us, it kind of felt like a remix, and sometimes there’s a magic in remixes seldom found in an original piece of work. This was a unique experience for us writing it and we hope it feels the same when listening to it.” ShockOne has been making waves in the dance and electronic music scene for the past decade with his 2013 debut album ‘Universus’ charting in the UK and New Zealand as well as landing at #1 in the ARIA album charts. • Koven Release New Single ‘Take It Away’ koven-take-it-away-oz-edm-feature

Koven’s rise just before the pandemic took hold a contemporary story of a duo’s dedication to their craft, which can be seen through both an electric live presence and also the sheer quality of their releases. These are elements which they never pulled the brakes on during lockdown; their work ethic is second to none, shown in the creation of their virtual reality club space as well as a number of phenomenal live sets which brought Katie Koven into fan’s living rooms. Although having re-kickstarted a jam packed touring schedule (including dates in Europe, New Zealand, Australia and North America), on top of dropping several releases in its lead up on UKF and NCS, now Koven have returned to Monstercat following the mammoth success of their album ‘Butterfly Effect’ which premiered on the label. It’s a move that sees them come full-circle, in a similar dynamic to their recent set at Belgium’s Rampage festival in March, the groundbreaking show which brought their beloved ‘Butterfly Effect’ to tens of thousands. “Take It Away” is the brand new single from Max and Katie, with Max sitting in the production booth and Katie lending her award-winning vocal prowess to the mix. Featuring the same depth which is notable within the entirety of Koven’s catalog, it’s heartbreak hidden in the high-energy drums, recounting what it’s like to let go of a relationship for fear of the void that follows. It takes its listener once more into their emotive landscapes which many have become familiar with. Something which is apparent at Koven’s shows, when Katie takes the mic and inspires crowds to follow their lyrics word for word. Adding to the record’s epicness, it also features the ‘Parallax Orchestra’, the same group behind the Eminem and Clean Bandit shows at Wembley Arena, as well as Bring Me The Horizon and Architects UK #1 albums. A fact adding to its musicality and already the pairs impressive profile. Max shares, “We started the EP at Middle Farm Studios in July 2021 and “Take It Away” was actually the first track we wrote, so it made sense to start here with the releases too. We then got a knock on the door of the studio and it was my old music theory tutor who was in recording with another band. He’s been doing all the string arrangements for Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, and others, so the strings you can hear on this record were arranged by him and recorded by the Parallax Orchestra!” Katie adds, “I’m so excited for this to be our first single back after not releasing anything since last year. I think it’s something quite different for us but really special. It’s such a pretty track, it’s heartbreaking but also hopeful. I hope people connect with it the way we have.” The softly spoken intro carried through by Katie, with its orchestral undertones, draws you into the record’s intense energy as the record kicks into play. It’s one more certified mainstage anthem from Koven, as the summer season begins. With a stacked list of headline shows and festival dates forthcoming for Koven, EDC (USA), Love Saves The Day (UK), Tomorrowland (BE), as well as a full package of music in the pipeline, the duo are staying true to what made them stand out, with their success a testament to their authenticity. 2022 is a new chapter for Koven, but they’re still following the same explosive ascent.
