On the back of their sold-out Group Therapy 150 concert with Ilan Bluestone, Lane 8 and Grum in Sydney at the Allphones Arena, Above & Beyond have some big news for their fans heading into 2016. The London-based electronic music trio are rebooting their Acoustic concept spawned in 2013, but with even more legs. Paavo Siljamäki, Tony McGuinness and Jono Grant have announced Acoustic II, which will include an album and tour of “the world’s most iconic venues.”
Kicking off on May 5, the global tour will span three continents and include performances at storied venues like the Hollywood Bowl, Sydney Opera House, and London’s Royal Albert Hall. Check out the promo video below:
Above & Beyond say they were inspired to continue the acoustic project following its 2013 tour, which included a two-night sold out run at L.A.’s Greek Theatre and featured a 15-piece band alongside vocalists Zoë Johnston, Annie Drury and Alex Vargas.
“We had so much fun doing the first run of acoustic shows and it was really the reaction from our fans that convinced us to tour it more extensively,” they say.
Acoustic II will feature acoustic arrangements of selections from the outfit’s latest studio album We Are All We Need (peaked at No. 1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Albums) as well as past hits like “Alchemy” and “No One On Earth.” Like its 2014 predecessor, Acoustic II will also be produced in collaboration with Bob Bradley.
Fans can pre-order the Acoustic II CD from anjunastore.com now, and tickets can be purchased at AboveandBeyond.nu/acoustic.
