Heralded Australian producers Anna Lunoe and Nina Las Vegas join forces on the gritty, club slammer “One Thirty,” out now on Mad Decent / NLV Records.
Longtime friends who came up on similar paths from Australia’s booming dance music scene, it’s no wonder that the first collab from the two curation queens is an absolute smash. Both artists boast impressive careers, playing Coachella, touring the world, and each hosting national radio shows on triple j and Beats1.
Earlier this summer, Anna Lunoe dropped the electric and eclectic EP Right Party on Mad Decent, her first full body of work in a few years, which reached a soaring 2 million streams, earned her a Zane Lowe premiere for the first single, and landed the esteemed cover of Spotify’s Mint playlist. Featuring the festival bop “303,” Right Party displayed Anna’s penchant for party tunes, and she played her hits out all summer long at festival performances at Digital Dreams in Toronto, Good Vibes Festival in Malaysia, Northcoast Music Festival in Chicago, Fuji Rock in Japan, HARD Summer in Los Angeles, Mysteryland in the Netherlands and at her own Las Vegas residency at Encore Beach Club.
Last year, Nina Las Vegas showed off her songwriting and production prowess with her Lucky Girl EP, featuring fellow NLV Records artists Swick and Ninajirachi. The four-track work was home to a myriad of genres and sounds, all while being true to Nina’s distinguished signature style. On top of her original productions, Nina has been consistently dedicated to promoting and celebrating the sounds of underground dance music from both Australia and abroad. In 2015, Nina started her own label, NLV Records, which has since released music by Kota Banks, Swick, Strict Face, Air Max’97, Lewis Cancut, Uniiqu3, HiTom and herself.
“It only took 15 years of friendship and collab-ing in every other aspect of our life to finally build the courage to work on a song together. With so much shared between us already, it might have been the easiest day in the studio for each of us. When you know so much about someone and their careers (plus what they love and hate in music) the outcome is super cool. Extra proud of this one!” – Nina Las Vegas
