Splendour In The Grass has officially lost one international act for its 2018 festival.
Canadian dance headliners Chromeo have cancelled all upcoming Australian shows due to health concerns.
Splendour In The Grass organisers have quickly announced a suitable replacement with Australian electronic legends The Presets stepping in to take their place.
“We are truly sorry to announce that our upcoming July shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Splendour In The Grass have been cancelled,” the duo wrote in a statement. “It’s been so long since we’ve visited you last and we were so excited to play for you. Unfortunately, the rigours of our touring schedule have caught up with us and we need to prioritise our health and well being.
“We’re being told that this period would be best served as a time to rest. This was not an easy call to make. We hope you understand. Please know that we’re doing everything we can to reschedule our time in Australia. We will see you all soon.”
Touring agency Frontier has notified fans who purchased tickets for Chromeo’s headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne that they will receive refunds — head to Frontier Touring for more details.
Splendour in the Grass is set to take place at North Byron Parklands from Friday July 20 – Sunday July 22.
