Daft Punk Announces Surprise Release, 2 Years After Breaking Up.
Daft Punk, the iconic electronic music duo, have revealed plans for a commemorative re-release of their album Random Access Memories to mark its 10th anniversary. The LP, set to be released on May 12th via Columbia, will contain nine tracks with 35 minutes of previously unheard music. These tracks comprise of unreleased demos and outtakes that originated from the “intimate creative process” behind Daft Punk‘s final studio album, Random Access Memories, which was released in 2013.

The announcement about the new music comes exactly two years after Daft Punk broke up. This will be the first music released by the iconic duo since the breakup, but unfortunately, it won’t be a reunion.
One half of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter, has announced his first solo album since the split. The album is called “Mythologies” and was made in collaboration with the Opéra National de Bordeaux. It’s the first time Bangalter has created music for a symphony orchestra. “Mythologies” will be released on April 7th through Erato/Warner.
