Paul Oakenfold is no stranger to the electronic music scene. At fifty five years of age, the legendary producer DJ has seen it all; and now the British master has designed an “Electronic Dance Music Academy” that is set to take place from September 24-28 at the Los Angeles Recording School (a division of the L.A. film school).
Looking to start his own breeding ground for the next superstar, the school will focus on the art of Mixing (DJ’ing 101), electronic music / in-studio production, publishing, licensing, marketing, social media, and radio.
Students of the class will be eligible to win spots in festival lineups and more – must be 18 years old to attend the camp. The studio is world-renowned, holding 20 studios and labs.
“This is a great opportunity for me to give back to the electronic music community and to take the time to teach and mentor students who have an interest in an industry that I’ve so proudly been a part of all these years,” Oakenfold said. “For me, the chance to make a difference in the careers of budding new artists is something I’ve always wanted to do, and providing this education is truly a dream for me.” – Paul Oakenfold
