The Presets, Cut Copy, Bag Raiders, Ladyhawke, Bang Gang DJs and FUKHED Announce Foreverafter.
Australia’s electro and indie-dance history will be celebrated in full colour this January, with Foreverafter set to bring a carefully curated lineup of era-defining artists and new-generation energy to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Conceived and curated by The Presets, who will also co-headline the tour, Foreverafter brings together a collection of artists whose music helped shape one of the most exciting chapters in Australian electronic music. Joining them are fellow trailblazers Cut Copy and Ladyhawke, alongside classic DJ sets from Bag Raiders and Bang Gang DJs, plus fast-rising talent FUKHED.
The tour will take place across three major outdoor and cultural venues, beginning at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Sunday, 17 January, before heading to Carriageworks in Sydney on Saturday, 23 January and Riverstage in Brisbane on Saturday, 30 January.
More than a standard nostalgia bill, Foreverafter feels like a celebration of a sound, a scene and a creative community that helped push Australian dance music onto the global stage. The Presets, Cut Copy, Bag Raiders, Ladyhawke and Bang Gang DJs each played a defining role in a period where live electronic acts, indie clubs and festival dance tents collided with genuine cultural force.
Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes of The Presets summed up the spirit of the event best: “We’ve made a racket alongside most of these artists for years, onstage and off. This is our idea of the ultimate party. We’ve all talked about it forever – so it’s about time.”
For Cut Copy, the announcement is also a chance to recognise the shared history behind the lineup. “We came up playing shows with most of these artists. And looking back it was a pretty unique scene, so it will be great to celebrate the spirit of that era with some killer shows!” – Dan Whitford, Cut Copy
Ladyhawke added: “Getting the crew back together with some fresh faces too. It’s gonna be awesome – don’t miss this one”
Promoted by Frontier Touring, Foreverafter is also closely connected to the history of Australian festival culture. The tour is led by Sahara Herald, who worked behind the scenes on the legendary Big Day Out, where many of these artists first found a wider audience through the iconic Boiler Room.
“I loved this concept and the intrinsic sense of camaraderie from the moment Kim and Jules first floated their ideal lineup to us”, Sahara explains. “These artists all create sounds which have made – and continue to make – waves that will last forever.”
With its blend of landmark artists, trusted selectors and a rising new voice in FUKHED, Foreverafter is built as both a reunion and a reminder. These are artists whose music still fills dancefloors, still cuts through festival fields and still carries the feeling of a night that should never quite end.
