Australian-born, LA-based artist George Maple delivers her infectious new single ‘Superhuman’. Referencing elements of Jersey House and Miami Bass, Maple’s vocal leads the way, gliding through punchy production with a self-realised, no-f*cks-given attitude.
‘Superhuman’ is a floor filler, weekend starter, sing-out-loud kind of song which showcases Maple’s enduring ability to present powerful messaging at all BPMs. ‘Superhuman’ also sees Maple on production duties, alongside US producer 1-900 (Joey Bada$$). Maple wrote the original chorus hook over a demo by her old friends What So Not and Motez.
Drawing inspiration from real-life experience, George Maple opens up about her personal connection with ‘Superhuman’, “This song is basically a reflection of where I’m at in my life at the moment… It’s about new romance and being open to new opportunities. Let your super-freak flag fly.”
Launching her uncompromising live show, UTOPIA, in Melbourne earlier this year, Maple developed the concept to represent her passion and drive to change the world through art. Maple explains, “At heart I am a Utopian. I believe art can change the world. By celebrating unique and meaningful artistry we can contribute to this powerful change.”
As an artist, writer and producer, George Maple’s resume features over 400 million Spotify streams (with over 47.5 million streams alone for her DJ Snake collaboration ‘Talk’), 350,000 Shazam followers, US number #1 records, sell out shows from Paris to Sydney and over 20 million YouTube views.
George Maple released her debut LP, ‘Lover’, in October 2017 to glowing reviews from critics and fans alike. The record established Maple’s position in the musical landscape, debuting at #2 on the Australian iTunes Charts and receiving millions of streams globally. Supporting the release of her record, Maple toured with global superstar Lorde, R&B powerhouse 6LACK and embarked upon her own sold-out Australian headline tour.
Maple has written and produced hits for global superstars such as DJ Snake, Hayden James, Flume, What So Not and more, making her one of the most in-demand and successful Australian exports to be recognised on the international music scene. Last year Maple was invited to join the Recording Academy, the prestigious society of music professionals behind the GRAMMYs, and attended the esteemed event in Los Angeles.
