Brisbane is set to host a thrilling one-day dance party this spring with the introduction of Sweet Relief!
The event, presented by QLD Music Trails, will take place at Brisbane’s Maritime Green, Northshore on September 16, 2023. Sweet Relief! is a world-first live music tourism event series, in collaboration with Untitled Group, a leading Australian music and events company, as well as Brisbane Festival and Brisbane City.
The festival boasts an impressive lineup, featuring exclusive appearances from UK legends Groove Armada and Aussie icons The Avalanches. Groove Armada, known for their influential dance music, will deliver an electrifying DJ set that blends decades of non-stop hits. The Avalanches, renowned for their dynamic live performances and sampled dance music, will treat the audience to a showcase of their award-winning repertoire.
Sweet Relief! offers more than just music, with a variety of entertainment options including carnival rides and market stalls. Joel Edmondson, CEO of QLD Music Trails, expresses excitement about the festival, hoping that it will become a platform for showcasing Brisbane’s local flavor and global appeal. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner emphasizes Brisbane’s reputation as a vibrant city for lifestyle and entertainment events, inviting visitors to extend their stay and explore the city’s shopping, dining, and tourism offerings.
Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe highlights Sweet Relief! as a significant addition to Queensland’s tourism roadmap, providing visitors with unique experiences in the state. The festival marks the debut of QLD Music Trails in Brisbane, following successful events in Outback Queensland. Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch emphasizes the inclusivity and cultural significance of Sweet Relief!, showcasing local music talent alongside national and international acts.
QLD Music Trails, known for organizing music tourism events in picturesque locations, presents Between The Tides, an intimate beach performance by Busby Marou on Yuwibara Country in Cape Hillsborough. This event serves as a preview of their upcoming album, Blood Red, and builds anticipation for the upcoming Tropics Trail announcement.
