Hermitude, the esteemed artists known for their incredible musical talent, joins the expanding roster of Dim Mak. Together, they unveil the duo’s uplifting drum and bass summer anthem titled “Celebrate.”
The meticulous production effortlessly shines through as the track unfolds, unveiling a mesmerizing array of drums, intricate basslines, and melodies that harmoniously create a sonic tapestry that’s both uplifting and irresistible.This first release is just a taste of what’s to come from Hermitude on Dim Mak.
The duo is also kicking off their biggest US DJ tour in years this week with 15+ dates across the country. One of the final show dates will be a special one in Los Angeles at The Echoplex on Thursday, July 27, as the duo and Dim Mak are teaming up for that show to celebrate their signing with Dim Mak and the coming of new music through a special DJ set and guest performances. Gusto and Luke Dubs, the Blue Mountains-based duo, who have been experimenting with electronic and hip-hop sounds for over two decades. Their unique musical approach, which blends hip-hop roots with electronic soundscapes, has earned them critical acclaim. This tour and showcase will highlight all aspects of their brand and sound from their inception to date, while toasting to how far they’ve come.
Across the last two decades, Hermitude – consisting of Elgusto and Luke Dubs, both from the Blue Mountains – have consistently kept evolution and experimentation at the forefront of their craft, paving new directions amongst the electronic, hip-hop and pop spaces that have kept them not just ahead of the curve, but defining the curve’s every move.
Award-winning multi-instrumentalists, Hermitude have moved from strength to strength since meeting in their early teens. First signing to Elefant Traks in 2002, the pair have marked out a sonic footprint that is defined by their hip-hop roots and electronic soundscapes. Their 2012 album, Hyperparadise won the Australian Music Prize and would see its title track reach #38 on the ARIA Charts and its Flume remix hit speakers everywhere, with singles going Gold and double platinum. Their follow-up album, Dark Night Sweet Light debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts, with single “The Buzz” firmly placing them on the world map. Their 6th album Pollyanarchy again reflected the duo’s development as they became a global force doing headline tours and festivals across Europe, Asia and North America, from Governors Ball to Reading to Splendour in the Grass.
Releasing up and coming drum n bass track ‘Celebrate’ along with their US tour (June/July 2023) is their first step in their never-ending search for the new sound.
