Consistently pushing boundaries with their sound, Melbourne duo Kult Kyss today unveil their latest electronic anthem, ‘God Is A Bassline’. An ode to the power of dance music, ‘God Is A Bassline’ sees Kult Kyss explore darker tech house sounds, melding Haxx’s pulsing beats with Rromarin’s unique vocals.
“’God Is A Bassline’ pays homage to the power of music and the ways in which it connects us to our higher selves,” explain Kult Kyss. “In creating the track we wanted to strike a balance between simplicity and intensity, taking listeners on a journey through the lighter realms of electronic pop, to the darker spheres of tech-house. There is something so transcendental and immersive about electronic dance music; we wanted to capture that feeling.”
Carving their own niche in the electronic space in Australia, Kult Kyss first captured the attention of The Presets with their ode to ‘This Boy’s In Love’ in late 2016. The duo were then invited to join The Presets on their HI VIZ National Tour, as well as join them on the ABC TV show ‘The Set’, where they debuted their single ‘EKKO’ with a scene-stealing live performance. This quickly followed with Kult Kyss showcasing at BIGSOUND and signing to indie label Risqué Music. Since then, the pair have released a string of cutting-edge singles including ‘Be Cool’ and ‘Rituals’, all garnering attention from the likes of triple j and Unearthed to Popjustice, plus being named finalists in triple j Unearthed’s RÜFÜS DU SOL remix competition.
With a burgeoning fan base and mesmerising live show, Kult Kyss went on to debut their headline show in Melbourne in August of last year, followed by a showcase at EMC Live in Sydney in November.
‘God Is A Bassline’ further cements Kult Kyss’ distinctive sound and style in the world of electronic music coming out of Australia. Bow down to ‘God Is A Bassline’ from out today, get your first listen below!
