Australia’s Listen Out festival won’t go ahead this year, promises 2022 return.

While music festivals a starting to make a global comeback amid the concerns of COVID-19, Australia’s Listen Out festival has confirmed they will postponing this year’s event to 2022.

The festival has hosted some of the most exciting and dynamic lineups in recent years, hosting acts like Flume, Skrillex, Rufus, Dusky, Childish Gambino, Alison Wonderland, Claptone and many more.

“Given the glacial pace of Australia’s COVID vaccination rollout and the likelihood of more lockdowns and border closures, it isn’t realistically going to be possible to give you the proper Listen Out / Listen In shows you deserve this year,” organisers wrote in a statement today. They continue:

“And we do not want to sell you tickets for a festival that’s very likely to be postponed, cancelled or modified.”
Event promoters Fuzzy (the same brains behind Field Day, Harbourlife and Sydney’s current Winter In The Domain series) assures that they’re aiming for Listen Out to be back, bigger and better than ever, next year.

“From today we’ll be working harder than ever to create a truly epic Listen Out 2022. It’s a bitter pill for us all to swallow yet again, but hang in there and we’ll reward you with a festival we’ve worked on heart and soul for 3 years!”
