In any one year approximately 1 million Australian adults have depression, over 2 million have anxiety and rates are even higher in the music industry, with musicians twice as likely to attempt suicide. Rave Reviewz founder Dr Kamran Ahmed is a psychiatrist who became aware of these high rates and realised music is a great way to raise awareness of mental health issues and money for charities working to address them.

Last year, the Music on my Mind campaign raised $18,750 for mental health charities and reached over 250,000 people through social media, raising awareness. This year with grants from City of Sydney and Way Ahead, Music on my Mind will be even bigger and better.

The Music on my Mind dress-up rave is on: Sat 21st Sept at Oxford Art Factory with all proceeds going to mental health charities Support Act and ReachOut, featuring Back 2 Back sets from some of Sydney’s best DJs.

Buy tickets to Music on my Mind: Rave for Mental Health HERE.

Keep an eye on the Rave Reviewz Facebook page for information on the upcoming panel discussion and daily posts raising awareness on mental health through music during October.

Mental health is an important issue so we would be grateful if you could circulate this info through your networks, cover the story in your publications and join us for the fundraising rave!
