    • Above & Beyond Launch New Label Anjunachill above-beyond-brisbane-2023-oz-edm-feature

Above & Beyond announces the rebranding of their third frontline label, Anjunachill (formerly Reflections). The dawn of a new year brings change and much to celebrate at Anjuna HQ. To kick things off, Anjunachill (rebranded from Reflections) is now the third frontline label under the Anjuna umbrella, housing the group’s ambient, downtempo, and chillout catalog. In celebration of its 25th anniversary and the launch of Anjunachill, the Anjuna label family is unveiling a brand refresh for 2025. With the design of its own bespoke typeface, ‘Decima Sans,’ and the iconic ‘Anjuna A’ at its core, the refreshed identity honors Anjuna’s rich heritage while establishing a versatile design foundation for the label’s future growth. Alongside longstanding flagship imprints Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep—two of the world’s most respected imprints in dance music—Anjunachill is keeping the brand’s signature ethos with emotive and melodic music at its core. While the Anjuna brand is historically synonymous with quality dancefloor-dominating club records, ranging from trance and progressive to deep house, Above & Beyond’s newest imprint, Anjunachill lives in the worlds of ambient, downtempo, and chillout – genres with a rich, intertwined history with dance music and the Anjuna brand itself. Anjunachill is the latest chapter of a journey that began with Above & Beyond at Burning Man in 2014. Following a spontaneous sunset yoga set on the iconic Robot Heart stage, this transformative experience sparked the creation of their dedicated yoga and meditation album, ‘Flow State.’ Following the success of ‘Flow State,’ in 2020, the first EP in a new chillout series, ‘Reflections Vol. 1,’ was released on Anjunadeep. This marked a pivotal moment in establishing a dedicated home for Anjuna’s chillout catalog. Officially launched in May 2022 as Reflections, the label flourished as a standalone space for ambient and downtempo music. Over the past three years, the Reflections label has released over 250 recordings from 70+ artists, amassing over 150 million streams. The label has released critically acclaimed albums from Mark Barrott, Cephas Azariah, Yotto, and Croquet Club, receiving glowing coverage from Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, and BBC Radio 6 Music. With standout live showcases at Glastonbury and sold-out events at ADE, Reflections has established its reputation as a credible tastemaker in the chillout space. Now, Anjunachill proudly carries the torch, continuing to champion, discover, and nurture some of the finest talents in ambient, downtempo, and neo-classical music. To long-time fans of Anjuna and Above & Beyond, the Anjunachill rebrand will come as no surprise; quieter moments have always been essential components of the band’s chart-topping electronic albums. The chillout genre is one the Anjuna family of labels have a long history in – from catalog classics on Above & Beyond albums like their debut LP title track ’Tri-State’ and ’Sun In Your Eyes’ from Group Therapy, to much-loved fan-favorite moments from Andrew Bayer, Cubicolor and Croquet Club, to the RIAA-certified Gold ‘Don’t Leave’ (a single from the ‘Flow State’ album) in 2019. Artist priorities for 2025 include Cephas Azariah, Mark Barrott, and newcomers Planet of Souls. Planet of Souls is the exciting new downtempo alias of prolific producer Paul Rogers (NERD, Gorillaz, and Pete Tong) and close friend Tom Barlow, a sound design master.  Anjunachill also welcomes new additions to the label, including Anjunadeep’s Luttrell, Steven Weston, BAILE, and Cornelius SA, Anjunabeats’ PROFF, as well as new faces in the form of South African neo-classical duo Ad Harmonium and British producer Toutounji. Anjunachill’s first release comes on January 14 by way of Above & Beyond’s new single, ‘Shall We Begin.’ Debuting as the intro for Above & Beyond’s guest mix on the 500th episode of the Anjunadeep Edition last summer, ’Shall We Begin’ is a moving downtempo electronic piece that takes listeners on a three-minute emotional journey. Echoing the sweeping soundscapes of their iconic ‘Flow State’ album, the track is poignant, reflective, sentimental, and captivating. In October 2024, 15,000 fans got a sneak preview of ‘Shall We Begin’ as it served as the soundtrack to the mysterious ‘Anjuna 25’ teaser video played right before Above & Beyond’s headline set at Above & Beyond’s 600th Group Therapy Radio Show (ABGT600) in Mexico City. This aptly named tune not only kicks off the Anjunachill label but ushers in an exciting era for Above & Beyond, who are set to play at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, this April. ‘Shall We Begin’ is now available worldwide via Anjunachill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VcXDdBXvyQ

    • Above & Beyond and PROFF Collab on ‘Palermo / Fractals’ EP above-and-beyond-2021-oz-edm-feature

This EP sees label bosses Above & Beyond release an original mix on their own Anjunadeep imprint for the first time. Tapping into their deeper side ahead of their rare headlining appearance at Anjunadeep Open Air London, GRAMMY-nominated trio Above & Beyond showcase their diversity with a marked departure from the high-tempo trance bangers that they’ve become known for. PROFF saw his first Anjunadeep release back in 2008 and has been releasing on Monstercat, Melody Of The Soul, and SkyTop recently. His sets at the annual Anjunadeep Explorations festival in Albania have become fan favorite attractions, with the Russian producer consistently taking crowds on a hypnotic journey. The opening track, ‘Palermo,’ is a summery and euphoric melodic house anthem, while ‘Fractals’ showcases PROFF’s mastery of organic house sounds and Above & Beyond’s melodic sensibility. Founders of the iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels and hosts of a weekly radio show that reaches millions of dance lovers every Friday (Group Therapy), Above & Beyond have earned two GRAMMY™️nominations for anthems ‘Northern Soul’ feat. Richard Bedford and We’re All We Need feat. Zoë Johnston. In 2018, the band’s fourth electronic album, Common Ground, debuted at number three on the Official Billboard Album Chart. Described by UK music bible Q Magazine as “the world’s biggest cult band,” Above & Beyond’s enviable list of sold-out shows includes headline performances at historic venues like Madison Square Garden, NYC, The Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall London, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and record-breaking turnouts for their own festival events on LA’s Huntington Beach and at The Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State. Songwriters first, producers second, Above & Beyond’s unwavering commitment to their craft has fuelled a career that many electronic artists today might only dream of: four acclaimed studio albums, 14 compilation albums, two ‘acoustic’ albums, and a stand-alone album for yoga and meditation – not to mention innumerable club cuts and dance remixes.

    • Luttrell announces his highly-anticipated album ‘Life at Full Speed’ luttrell-2024-feature-oz-edm

San Francisco native Eric Luttrell announces his highly-anticipated third studio album ‘Life at Full Speed’, released on October 11 on Anjunadeep. The album announcement is paired with the release of lead single ‘Make U Happy’. First breaking into electronic music as part of the OWSLA-affiliated trio The M Machine, Eric embarked on his solo journey in 2016 with the acclaimed ‘Need You EP’. This was followed by Anjunadeep favourites such as the ‘Generate EP’ and ‘Intergalactic Plastic’, the latter of which was named Hottest Record In The World by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1. His musical progression continued with the launch of two studio albums, ‘Intro Clouds’ and ‘Lucky Ones’, as well as the captivating trilogy EP series ‘Music For My Memories’. Luttrell’s body of work has amassed over 100 million streams to date. Written over the past two years, ‘Life at Full Speed’ represents a new chapter for Eric. Becoming a father last year profoundly shifted his perspective on life and its purpose; and the album represents the ethos of embracing life to its fullest and seizing every moment. Three of the album’s 13 tracks, ‘Sunshine’, ‘Space’ and ‘Sunshine Song’ have already been released and supported by BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM Chill, and they, alongside the bouncy new single ‘Make U Happy’, set the tone for this warm and uplifting album. A standout feature of ‘Life At Full Speed’ is the way in which Eric weaves his own voice into his productions, as well as vocals from Canadian artist Molly Moonwater on single ‘Something Right’. In marrying the melodic productions for which he’s become known with more overtly vocal moments that aren’t as commonplace in his catalogue, Luttrell promises to delight and surprise any listener of this album. ‘Life at Full Speed’ is set for release on October 11 on Anjunadeep.

    • Spencer Brown Announces New Album ‘Equanimity’ + World Tour Dates spencer-brown-2023-oz-edm-feature

Progressive mastermind Spencer Brown to return with new studio album ‘Equanimity.’ Spencer Brown is a leader in the new progressive house and techno generation. Whether it be his releases on world-class imprints such as Anjunadeep, Bedrock, Last Night on Earth, Factory93, and his burgeoning diviine imprint, through to his legendary DJ sets, Spencer Brown is an artist who’s going the extra mile to deliver an uncompromised sound and experience to his fans. The next step on Spencer’s meteoric journey is ‘Equanimity,’ Spencer Brown’s third artist album, set for release on September 29 via diviine. Following his previous albums, 2018’s ‘Illusion of Perfection’ and 2020’s ‘Stream of Consciousness,’ ‘Equanimity’ is mixed into one continuous piece and features heavyweight collaborations to be revealed soon. ‘Equanimity’ was built on the back of a difficult period for Spencer, which included the global pandemic (which canceled the majority of his 2nd album tour and income), his first breakup, the death of his grandmother, publicly coming out as gay, and grappling with his out-of-control OCD (which is a mental disease fueled by uncertainty.) “When I wasn’t thinking about these things, life looked even worse through my phone,” he says “Every day I saw a rapid-fire stream of contradictions: sugar-coated highlight reels balanced by extremism and negativity from the news, designed to game our emotions for attention. After enough nights driven by pain and uncertainty, I realized that all I can control is how I let external stimuli affect my being. At first, I tried to eliminate the things causing my day to get worse; then I realized I had to be OK with them. I had to accept difficulties and let them pass through me. During this period, a friend introduced me to the concept of equanimity, describing it as “calmness and composure, especially in a difficult situation.” This was the exact skill I had unknowingly been trying to find. But like a muscle, it takes time to engrain deep strength in the core. In reality, peace exists around us if we can stay unaffected by the noise. Written between 2019 and 2023, ‘Equanimity’ describes how I learned to be OK when external stimuli are out of my control. All we can do is work on how we react to the world around us.” He continues, “‘Equanimity’ represents the biggest period of internal growth for my psyche and maturity. Like my last albums, I mixed this album into one continuous piece. The holistic form challenged me to add an extra layer of depth and creativity to my process, ensuring that everything flows into a cohesive body. In a world driven by short-form viral content, I’ve focused my last 4 years slightly shying away from the spotlight, making sure this body of work represents my authenticity. This album takes a slow-shutter snapshot of ongoing time: from pre-pandemic, to pandemic, to post-pandemic, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.” Spencer Brown will support the release of ‘Equanimity’ with his most ambitious world tour to date. Kicking off in August, Spencer will hit the road for a jaunt through Asia before returning to the States for an extensive run of North American dates through early 2024. It’s important to note that a Spencer Brown DJ set is an entirely spontaneous and authentic music experience – no two sets will ever be the same. This is the result of Spencer living and breathing music to the point where he knows every facet of every track in his arsenal inside and out and knows how to program his sets following his audience. The tension, the ebb, and the flow to the point of dance floor explosion is a true art pained by Spencer. Select dates on the tour will feature a unique “Divine Inspirations” live show that will present the ultimate Spencer Brown experience. “It’s always been a dream to build a live production show from the ground up. I’ve worked with an army of brilliant artists to design the stage, the lights, the visuals, and the atmosphere to create a flow aligned with my music,” Brown says. “The show will truly be “live,” in that, I do not have a setlist (as usual), and the visual artists won’t either. We’ll feed off each other to create audiovisual moments unique to each night. After debuting the prototype of this show in San Francisco last year, we can’t wait to tour the revamped version in Austin, Los Angeles, and Denver to celebrate my new album, ‘Equanimity.’” We’ll close with one final thought from Spencer about the project… “In extremely difficult periods, we may not find the silver linings until time has passed. Only then can we zoom out and reflect on what the universe was trying to convey. For me, this album represents the beautiful state of tranquility I discovered after weathering the storm when the music was written. Tying it together as one piece closed this chapter of finding strength from inside, my path to Equanimity.” ‘Equanimity’ is available September 29 on diviine. Be on the lookout for the full tracklist reveal, coming soon. • Above & Beyond’s Paavo Siljamäki releases debut solo album as P.O.S, ‘Deeper Tales’ Paavo-Siljamaki-oz-edm

The culmination of a personal journey, ‘Deeper Tales’ sees Paavo reconnect with club culture, and rediscover himself, for his debut solo album as P.O.S. A celebrated musician and DJ, Paavo Siljamäki is one-third of the legendary British dance institution Above & Beyond, founders of the London-based label Anjunabeats. Double GRAMMY-nominated, RIAA Gold Certified artists, the trio have taken iconic festival stages and legendary live venues by storm, from Glastonbury, EDC, and Creamfields, to the Royal Albert Hall and Madison Square Garden. But over the past five years, Paavo grappled with a number of personal and health-related difficulties, including several battles with Covid. “Basically, I had a burnout. I just couldn’t see what I wanted to do. And after my burnout, I was like: what is dance music to me? I don’t really know even if I like it. I’ve heard – I’ve written – too many build-ups! So I thought: that’s me done,” Paavo says. Nature gave Paavo a sense of renewed purpose. It first inspired his work on Above & Beyond’s ambient album ‘Flow State’, and later drew him back onto the dance floor. “There’s no feeling of freedom like being at sea,” he adds. “When I’m sailing, I synchronize with the sunrise and sunset – we almost always get up at sunrise. So this is like being really aligned with nature. I found that, after my burnout, and Covid, I really found myself in nature. There’s something about being closer with nature that is really healing – and very inspiring.” After spending years behind the decks on stage, Paavo reflected on his experiences as a teenage rave kid, and felt compelled to dance in the heart of the crowd at the desert raves of Burning Man and clubs in Ibiza. His ‘Deeper Tales’ album embodies these recent experiences; uplifting, emotive club records with many debuted during Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 500 and Anjunadeep Open Air L.A. celebrations last autumn. Paavo Siljamäki has already amassed over 1.5M streams on his ‘Deeper Tales’ album singles to date, with ‘Polar Bears’ peaking at #6 in the Beatport Progressive House Chart. Born in a studio jam in Los Angeles in late 2021, ‘Polar Bears’ is a collaboration with DJ, producer, and Paavo’s close friend, Spencer Brown. Paavo and Spencer’s friendship stretches back to 2014, when the budding producer caught the ear of Above & Beyond with his debut release ‘Chalice’ on Avicii’s imprint LE7ELS. The lead single from ‘Deeper Tales’ pairs P.O.S with anamē for an adaptation of ‘Lonely River’ by Kyan. UK-based Kyan Kuatois’ chart-topping discography includes collaborations with Duke Dumont on ‘Need You (100%)’ and Madeon on his 2015 hit track ‘You’re On’. Paavo recently completed his ‘Deeper Tales’ tour across North America to celebrate his latest releases as P.O.S. Shows in Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more gave fans a unique insight into Paavo’s creative identity outside of Above & Beyond.
