Highlighting the ever-evolving sound of the label, Anjunabeats is proud to welcome Tinlicker for their first single outing.

Bringing a dance floor sensibility to the deeper end of the electronic spectrum, the Dutch duo Jordi van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer have courted the attention of global labels and tastemakers since breaking out in 2013. Prolific musicians with backgrounds in dubstep and pop production, their journey so far has seen them release on the likes of Mau5trap, Armada, Sotto Voce, and Anjunadeep – with an eclectic array of DJ support from Above & Beyond to Oliver Heldens, Tiësto to Yotto.

Able to turn their hand to deep house, techno and electro, the pair has reworked the likes of Lane 8 and Deadmau5; their stunning update of Reflekt ‘Need To Feel Loved’ becoming a sought after mix among fellow DJs over the last 12 months.

Having played every stop of the Anjunabeats 17 date North American tour this Spring, their first single on the label partners them with Run Rivers (Chris James) for ‘Lost’. With previous collaborations including DJ Shadow and Joe Ashworth, Chris adds a yearning quality to the rolling grooves of ‘Lost’.

Tinlicker explains how the collaboration came about, “The first track we tried to make with Chris just didn’t want to succeed and then suddenly out of the blue this gem appeared. The power of almost giving up, but persevering comes through in the song”.

With summer shows including festival sets at Creamfields, Tomorrowland, and CRSSD (CA), we look forward to discovering more about the Tinlicker universe in the coming months.

    • Above & Beyond Announce ‘Group Therapy Weekender’ Australia above-and-beyond-group-therapy-weekender-australia-2022-feature-oz-edm

Group Therapy Weekender Festival  Set To Make Its Australian Debut This December. Australian touring giants Symbiotic and Hardware are joininng  forces for the debut  Australian edition of Above & Beyond’s iconic ‘Group Therapy Weekender’ festival. Featuring a stellar, curated line-up of artists from their labels: Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep & Reflections.  The camping festival, Group Therapy Weekender Australia will be held at Yarra Valley Estate for the band’s first ever multi-day festival down under. Taking place between Friday 16 December and Sunday 18 December in Victoria’s breathtaking Yarra Valley, ‘Group Therapy Weekender Australia’ is an intimate camping getaway for Australia’s ‘Anjunafamily.’ There will also be a program of wellness activities and workshops to enhance the experience, surrounded by the picturesque landscape that surrounds the region.  There will also be an offering of the very best food and drink, from Yarra Valley and beyond. This is the first time the festival has been based in Australia and follows on from the success of ‘Group Therapy Weekender’ at The Gorge, Washington State, which welcomed 23,000 campers last July and ‘Group Therapy Weekender’ London at Dockyards. One of the world’s best-loved electronic groups, ‘Above & Beyond’ have headlined arenas around Australia over the last decade, bringing their anthemic dance songs to tens of thousands of fans. Update: Tuesday November 7, 2022 Anjuna, along with local partners Symbiotic and Hardware have made the difficult decision to relocate the inaugural ‘Group Therapy Weekender Australia’ from the Yarra Valley to central Melbourne.  Same amazing show, minus the camping. “With no reprieve from the rain in sight, it has been decided it’s too risky to proceed with a camping event this year.  The team was faced with two choices: proceed and cross our fingers that the rain will ease, and the land will dry out, or relocate to the city, where we can provide a comfortable experience rain or shine.  The ultimate goal is to deliver the greatest Anjuna event ever to visit Australia, and this can’t confidently be done in unfavourable weather conditions.  The comfort and safety of patrons is always the priority and sliding around a sodden farm for two days isn’t the experience anyone wants to have, particularly for an event’s debut year.  Although the weather has actually cleared up lately, and many were really looking forward to camping, if we’re to heed the word of Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology, the current La Niña event may very well continue on through the summer months.” say organisers. ‘Group Therapy Weekender Australia’ will take place under a big top tent at Melbourne Showgrounds in a beautiful, grassy arena that’s just ten minutes from central Melbourne.  Two days, one stage, same line-up (bar a few small tweaks, including the addition of a Deep Set from Anjuna on Sunday!). • Giuseppe Ottaviani & Christian Burns Join Forces On ‘Closer’ giuseppe-ottaviani-christian-burns-closer-oz-edm-feature

After August’s ‘Melody’ with Sarah de Warren, Giuseppe Ottaviani delivers ‘Horizon’s [Part 2]’ another single-worded spellbinder with ‘Closer’. One of the hallmarks of the Italian’s current album project has been pinpointing and spotlighting vocal talent from outside the trance & progressive lanes. ‘Closer’ however is its notable exception. It reteams Giuseppe with a singer-songwriter whose talents have made him one of the A-list’s most sought after. As such, it’s not the first time Giuseppe and Christian Burns’ paths have crossed (‘Brightheart’ from the ‘Alma’ album laying claim to that). In contrast to ‘Brightheart’, but in keeping with the textural sonics of ‘Horizons’ deeper dive, ‘Closer’ brings a collaboration more meditatively and transcendentally tipped in nature. Production-wise, Giuseppe prioritises atmosphere and vision over amp and elevation. His synths maintain a Moog-ish air throughout and Giuseppe weaves any number of other studio intricacies in, supplying it the richest of soundscapes. Working on the principle of less being more, Christian bakes ether and emotion into every syllable of his song. Wistful, while never despondent, yet not traditionally uplifting either, his words rest unitedly on the cusp of hopeful. Tracked every step by Giuseppe’s empathetic production, honest-to-goodness musical alchemy takes place. ‘Horizons [Part 2]’ moves another step closer, as Giuseppe Ottaviani & Christian Burns’ stunning ‘Closer’ collaboration touches down on all good streaming and sales platforms today.
