The release of early bird ticket for Ultra Music Festival’s 17th anniversary is just around the corner, but news has dropped earlier today that will certainly have mixed reactions.
The Miami, Florida based festival not only plays host to many of the world’s biggest acts in electronic dance music, but caters to crowds who fly from across the globe to attend the Miami Music week.
Next year’s festival will usher in a new change to one of the event’s longstanding policies. While past years allowed people of all ages to attend, next year’s festival will implement an 18+ restriction.
Ultra is yet to officially announce the new policy, but fliers distributed this weekend during Electric Zoo reveal the age limit along with a disclaimer stating the following:
“The safety and security of our attendees, artists/performers, and personnel are out utmost priority and concern.”
Many of the premier EDM festivals have enforced age restrictions in the past few years, including Insomniac Events’ Electric Daisy Carnival and Australia’s own Stereosonic.
