On the night of his latest album, Neon Future’s release, Steve Aoki sat down with Larry King to discuss everything from what EDM stands for, what DJs specifically do on a daily basis, Las Vegas and why he loves to throw cakes.
In the interview, Aoki mentions he was influence by Google’s Director of Engineering, Ray Kurzweil as he describes Kurzweil to “opening me up to the future in this way.”
When asked about his father, Steve credits Rocky Aoki, with his showmanship and his flare for entertaining others. Steve also mentions that more than anything, he wanted to prove to his father that he could become successful all on his own and be his own man.
