    • Odd Mob Unveils Club Rompas EP Odd Mob Unveils Club Rompas EP - OZ EDM

Australian dance maestro Odd Mob continues his upward trajectory with the release of his latest EP, “Club Rompas,” following the success of the peak time anthem “XTC.” Having already wowed crowds at Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, and various clubs across Australia, New Zealand, and the US, Odd Mob draws inspiration from his global dance floor experience, crafting a collection of tracks perfectly suited for both intimate rave caves and massive festival stages. The EP opens with the already acclaimed single “XTC,” a club stomper that has received support from industry heavyweights such as Dom Dolla, Sarah Story, and Chris Lake. Throughout the EP, Odd Mob’s signature bass-heavy production shines as he takes listeners on a journey to the “Underground.” A collaboration with Chicago-based bass house duo Birthdayy Partyy, the track experiments with industrial elements, featuring sirens and intense metallic synthesis leading to a powerful drop. “Guest List,” another collaboration with Chicago natives Basura Boyz, mesmerizes listeners with its hypnotic basslines, dominating the dance floor. The EP concludes with “Blisters On My Feet feat. Basura Boyz,” featuring a rolling low end and captivating vocal hooks that keep listeners locked into the groove. Odd Mob shares his inspiration for the EP, stating, “‘Club Rompas’ does exactly what it says on the label. It’s meant to hit you hard in the club and make you dance! This EP came together after my first post-COVID tour in the US, spending 24 hours in Chicago where I collaborated with Birthdayy Partyy for the first version of ‘Underground.’ That same night, I met Basura Boyz, who later sent me some fantastic one-liners that ended up in ‘Blisters On My Feet’ and ‘Guest List.'” With an exceptional year in North America, including two successful tours and a Coachella debut, Odd Mob has established himself as a versatile artist behind the decks and in the studio. His expertly crafted tracks have earned praise from top DJs worldwide, including John Summit, Skrillex, Diplo, and Oliver Heldens. “LEFT TO RIGHT,” his iconic club hit, received monumental support before its official release, while “Been Dreaming” caught the attention of BBC Radio 1’s Sarah Story. Hayden James on “Do You Want Me”, says: “I’ve spent most of the year writing in the studio and I’m so excited to finally share my first release of the year with you all. Tom, Jimmy (Bob Moses) and I got together just a handful of times to write ‘Do You Want Me’. This record came together so quickly. We instantly had a vibe together and just had fun in the studio. The song feels like a great representation of both of us. It’s definitely a dream collab for me. I hope you love it.” Bob Moses on “Do You Want Me”, says: “We’ve known Hayden for a bit, and of course have been aware of his work since well before he gave us his killer mix of our track “Back Down” (which we still play all the time btw). We had thought about working together before but somehow never got around to it. But just like that, the window opened and this track quickly came to life out of a few sessions in LA. Hayden is a lovely guy, and we had fun with the process. Hope ya enjoy.” The arrival of “Do You Want Me” is Hayden James’ first for new music in 2023, and follows the release of last year’s album LIFTED. Hayden James previously added his re-work to Bob Moses’ track “Back Down” and now both artists gear up to celebrate their latest single with combined shows in Vancouver and New York next month, having recently road-tested the single at Michigan’s Electric Forest festival a few weekends go. Hayden will next appear at a string of US festivals including California’s Hard Summer, before returning to Australia for the national touring festival, Grapevine Gathering in October. Since breaking out in 2013 with “Permission to Love” and going on to release revered platinum certified hits “Numb” feat. GRAACE, and “Just Friends”, the producer has continued to be at the forefront of the Australian house music scene, carrying on his run of hits with his ARIA-nominated debut album Between Us in 2019, and 2022’s sophomore record LIFTED, which boasts over half a billion streams and was debuted at last year’s Coachella to a packed out stage, before he launched into a North American tour. He then toured across Europe, before landing back in Australia to play his largest headline shows here to date, gracing iconic venues such as Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall. His production mastery on tracks like “Waves of Gold” feat. Azteck as well as “Right Time” with Icona Pop has also landed in the international spotlight, receiving love from Zane Lowe on Beats 1, triple j, as well as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME and many more. • Arky Waters Releases New Single “Back To You” arky-waters-feature-oz-edm

Arky Waters caps the year off with his new single ‘Back To You’ featuring the vocals of Jade Alice. This marks Arky’s first collaboration with another vocalist – Jade’s dream pop roots and catchy hooks move with the emotional depths of the track, capturing us through the tender and darker moments. “We made this track around COVID times, I sent her a DM and I honestly didn’t expect a reply, she ended up being open to working with me even though I had nothing out at the time. I sent over an idea that she vibed with and she sent back the hook that’s currently on the track. Once I heard that hook I basically ended up crafting the song around the vocal. For our first time working together it went super smooth; she’s talented as hell. I’d been a fan of her stuff for a while so it was cool to finally make something together.” The track is paired with a four part visualiser made by upcoming Sydney artist Don Kaiyote; the collaboration explores themes of young love, heartbreak and loneliness. “The most important part of this project was to make something that felt close to us – we wanted to capture beauty in something that was quite real and ordinary, something we’ve all felt before.” The video takes us through the journey of young love as a person of colour growing up in western society, diving into the complexities of the modern-day “situationship” and the feelings that revolve around that behind closed doors. Arky Waters is a Sydney based artist exploring his early love for indie/folk with the electronic textures of rave music. Starting in 2020,it began as an outlet from his usual work with alt-rock band ‘Silvers’, and soon blossomed into its own project as he found his feet in production. The songs act as a soundtrack to his life growing up in the suburbs of Australia, bridging the gap between indie/folk songwriting and the pulse of electronic music.
