With a residency at the infamous Space Ibiza spanning 15 years, and nearly 30 years experience DJing, Carl Cox is set to make his Australian debut at bringing his own show down under.
The legendary DJ has brought a taste of his favourite talents to Australia before with the Carl Cox and Friends arena making appearances at Stereosonic and in 2016, Cox will be bringing a new festival to Australia titled ‘Pure.’
“I am looking to build my own bespoke Carl Cox festival in Australia,” he told inthemix earlier this week. “It’s going to be called Pure and all I’m going to be concentrating on is underground DJs who have a vibe for house and techno.”
According to Carl Cox, Pure will hit Sydney and Melbourne in April of next year and while the full lineup is yet to be confirmed, Cox mentioned that the lineup will boast a ton of International acts.
“We haven’t decided exactly where we’re going to do them or who’s coming to the table,” Cox said. “But when we last spoke to all of the international DJs who are interested in being involved in our festival, they’ve all said, yep, we’d like to do it. A lot of it will just be down to availability and timing, but primarily you’re going to have the best DJs playing the best music. Hopefully we can build it into something annually for Australia.”
