EG2017-FB-banner-bgrd-06-1200x444-SYD-stages-cirezd

ELECTRIC GARDENS FESTIVAL is ecstatic to announce the final artist to the 2017 line up! In an Australian FIRST, joining the likes of Jamie Jones, &ME and Anna on the CODE stage will be none other than CIREZ D (the uber cool techno alias of the legendary ERIC PRYDZ).

Having never previously performed in Australia under his techno moniker of CIREZ D, this is truly a moment for electronic music lovers to get excited about! CIREZ D will perform just 2 shows in Australia – the first being one electrifying exclusive afterparty in Melbourne on January 26th for Electric Gardens ticket holders only and the second in SYDNEY on JANUARY 28th at Electric Gardens Festival in the stunning surrounds of Centennial Park.

ERIC PRYDZ has always been the man of many faces – he records as Eric Prydz, Pryda (melodic house) and CirezD (techno) but it’s his darker CirezD techno alias that has seen the emergence of Eric as an extremely unique artist and his legendary status skyrocket. This is a man with the talent to headline an arena with his EPIC live show but yet retains the support and credibility of the underground.

    • Aluna Unveils New Single ‘Forget About Me’ With Diplo & Durante aluna-forget-about-me-diplo-oz-edm-feature

British singer-songwriter Aluna returns today with her new single ‘Forget About Me,’ a collaboration with Diplo and Italian producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Durante, offering fans a taste of what’s to come from Aluna in 2022. The track was co-produced by Aluna, Diplo and Durante. Speaking about the new track, Aluna reveals, “This song is about that moment when you’ve cleaned up the trash pile that was once your heart –you’re feeling yourself and you’ve worked out how to be alone but the past comes back to haunt you, hungry for your new self love and abundant vibes. Those are the moments you have to stay strong and really forget about your old love so that new fresh love can waltz into your life. When the one that got away comes back…what you gonna do? That’s not what I call destiny, you deserve better.” ‘Forget About Me,’ arrives with an official music video, directed by Reggie, who previously directed Aluna’s videos for ‘Don’t Hit My Line,’ and ‘The Recipe’ with KAYTRANADA feat. Rema. Talking about the video, Aluna explains, “The music video for ‘Forget About Me’ is an exploration of how to skip to that ‘new you’ feeling after a break up instead of all the drama we go through before we feel better. I wanted to play with the idea of a futuristic game where if you win all is forgotten and you get to move on, easy as that…..I think someone needs to invent it for real though.” ‘Forget About Me’ serves as the follow-up to Aluna’s recent single ‘Summer of Love,’ co-produced by Aluna and Punctual and released last summer via Mad Decent’s house music imprint Higher Ground. Originally getting her start as one half of the beloved duo AlunaGeorge, she has now gained attention as a solo artist while releasing her debut album Renaissance in 2020 (LISTEN) via Mad Decent, which Alunaco-produced alongside executive producer Lido, featuring contributions from Princess Nokia, Jada Kingdom, SG Lewis, KAYTRANADA, Scott Storch, GRADES, Mr. Carmack and Rema. Renaissance represents the culmination of her journey of “a black girl in an all-white British suburb back in the day” to launching a rule-breaking revolution where rigid boundaries dissolve between culture, race, gender, and genre. Last fall, Aluna announced Noir Fever, a new festival in partnership with leading technology company Pollen Presents, set to take place May 27-30, 2022, in New Orleans. The all-Black lineup showcases multiple generations of boundary-pushing artists who continue to pioneer the genre, while also shining a light on LGTBQ+ performers as well. Aluna will be joined by Haitian-Canadian artist KAYTRANADA, Compton vocalist and producer Channel Tres, Canadian-born house act and Ninja Tune icon Jayda G, rapidly emerging London talent TSHA, Chicago house music legend Derrick Carter, and Detroit techno hero Kevin Saunderson, as well as South Los Angeles rapper and songwriter Duckwrth, the acclaimed Harlem beatmaker Austin Millz, Chicago producer and vocalist known for high-profile collaborations in the hip-hop and dance world NEZ, self-proclaimed Jersey club queen UNIIQU3, one of dance music’s favorite vocalists Kaleena Zanders, East Coast singer, songwriter, DJ, and model MAAD, Toronto DJ and producer Bambii, the Jamaican-born New York-based artist Tygapaw, and more to be added ahead of the experience. Throughout the experience, guests will get the chance to take part in late-night warehouse parties and raves, a speaker series with keynote talks, workshops, a marketplace for innovative Black-owned brands, and much more to be announced. Speaking on Noir Fever New Orleans, Aluna states that: “This unique experience of honoring dance music’s heritage and getting a taste of what’s to come will reignite a much-needed connection back to what dance music is about –creating a place where people from all different communities can come together and dance their hearts out while feeling free to be themselves.”

    • Krewella Return With New Single “Never Been Hurt” krewella-never-been-hurt-2021-oz-edm

The ladies of Krewella make a strong return to the scene with their new original release – “Never Been Hurt,” in collaboration with the Asian-American duo BEAUZ. The sisters take an exploratory approach to their traditionally hard-hitting sound with a pop and deep house style on the track, which begins with a groovy and yet grimy bassline reminiscent of UK garage sounds. The subtler melodies let the song’s vocals shine through as Krewella brings their A-game with sultry lyrics and a distorted vocal chorus. Krewella’s previous independent single was “Rewind” with Yellow Claw in July of 2020, though they also collaborated with Illenium and SLANDER on “Lay It Down” as a part of Illenium’s album. The release of “Never Been Hurt” lets us also assume that more new music will be released in the coming months. Check out what both artists have to say about this emotive, late-night friendly track: “The inspiration of ‘Never Been Hurt’ comes from the feeling of the body and heart slowly opening its doors again after being calloused by the pain of love. Surrendering to intimacy is a leap of faith, and in a way, memories of past loss or trauma become erased when we are ready to experience love again in its pure innocence. We wrote the song a few years ago and have been waiting for the right vibe to bring the song to the finish line. As sisters, we found it sweet to be collaborating with brothers Bernie and Johan Yang, and despite being confined to the internet during the pandemic, we managed to have a seamless flow of sending versions of the song back and forth.” – Krewella “Krewella has been one of our favorite artists that were responsible for inspiring us to make music. It’s so cool to work with the sisters since we are a brother duo. When we received ‘Never Been Hurt’ from the girls, its dark and contemporary style, along with its story, immediately resonated with us. After several back and forths, we were able to come up with an edgy vocal chop lead complemented by an infectious bassline, as well as contributing our own vocals into this dream collaboration. We absolutely can’t wait to perform this gem along with the girls on stage when we return to the US.” – Beauz Sisters Jahan and Yasmine exploded onto the scene in 2012 with their debut self-released EP “Play Hard,” which has now been streamed almost 150M times on Spotify alone; additionally, their single “Alive” from the EP has been certified Platinum. Since then, the duo has made a name for themselves and their hard-hitting yet melodic and vocal-driven sound through releases like “Live for the Night,” “Enjoy the Ride,” and more. In 2016, Krewella was awarded a coveted place on Forbes’s “30 Under 30” list. They have performed at major global music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, iHeartRadio Music Festival, and many others, in addition to their own headlining tours. As one of the main elements of the Krewella canon, the group’s onstage performances serve as the live extension of their music and art. Incorporating a multitude of audiovisual elements together with Jahan and Yasmine’s live vocals and powerful onstage energy. American duo BEAUZ composed of Bernie and Johan is a group of versatile, classy rockstars who decide their own destiny. Proving themselves to be virtuosos of music production, they quickly caught attention from top power players in the industry, landing them multiple official remixes. Most notably, their “Happy Now” remix has become a staple in Zedd’s DJ sets. In 2019, BEAUZ released the genre-bending Count The Hours with Armada, which became viral on Douyin and kicked off the duo’s first international tour spanning across North America and Asia. BEAUZ then collaborated with Spinnin’ Records to release Feel The Light as the first record on the new imprint Spinnin’ Asia, positioning the duo as the godfathers of Psypop. In 2020, BEAUZ hosted the avant-garde Blockeley festival featuring a star-studded lineup on Minecraft in collaboration with UC Berkeley and their management, KEYTEM. They released their first EP “BEAUZWORLD Vol. 1,” kicking off the BEAUZ IMPERIAL TOUR, stunting the world as the only international artists to deliver world class performances during the pandemic. Synonymous with a unique music brand and eluding an impeccable flair in everything they do, BEAUZ will not stop until they sit on the throne.

    • Vintage Culture and James Hype Unveil “You Give Me a Feeling” vintage-culture-james-hype-oz-edm

Globetrotting DJs, Brazil’s Vintage Culture and UK’s James Hype join forces for their first-ever collab. Vintage Culture and James Hype are teaming up to lay claim to being the dancefloors favourite with their bouncing, housey, club focussed single, “You Give Me a Feeling,” serving as their debut appearance on Insomniac Records. With thousands of miles sitting between them, two of the most in-demand dance exports are closing the geographical gap from their respective origins by way of a temperature raising cross-continental collab. The beloved Brazilian iconoclast Vintage Culture is met halfway by breakout UK sensation James Hype, as they come together to concoct an irrepressible potion of sublime tech house. Bold and full-bodied, “You Give Me a Feeling” takes its claim as a true masterclass in club seduction. A sultry, pitched-down vocal hook presses those primitive buttons ever-so gently, while slinky rhythms and beefy basslines work their magic to bring uncontrollable urges to the surface. Crisp drum programming and stripped-down sensibilities keep the temperature rising through the roof. Once the club-pleasing record settles into its full stride, Vintage Culture and James Hype effectively turn those deep-seated desires into an endorphin-riddled climax that will leave listeners suspended in a dazed state of stimulation long after the concluding beat finishes the job. The multi-platinum hitmaker Vintage Culture, née Lukas Ruiz, has made himself comfortable at the top of charts and festival lineups the world over. His uncanny ability to coalesce ear-burrowing hooks with pulse-raising grooves carries over to create a universal appeal that translates on the decks just as much as it works for at-home streaming. The proof is in the numbers, as evidenced by the more than 2 billion streams he’s generated globally from standout tracks such as his smash single “It Is What It Is” featuring Elise LeGrow, the artisanal collab “Coffee” with Tiësto, as well as his far-flung remixes for Meduza, Diplo, David Guetta, and Moby. His dexterity inside the DJ booth is an animal all on its own, which attendees of this year’s EDC Las Vegas were thrilled to experience first-hand during his sun-kissed opening ceremony back-to-back set alongside Solardo, which was an added bonus to his closing solo main-stage performance at kineticFIELD. Rapidly becoming the DJ’s DJ, and globally recognised hitmaker, London-based James Hype has built up a buzz that has lived up to the definition of the latter half of the moniker he’s adopted. With a reputation preceding his every move on the worldwide circuit, James Hype has positioned himself as a must-see spectacle due to his technical transitions, one-of-a-kind bootlegs, ear-pricking mashups, and a crate-digging inclination only few can match. Those skills have led to a hectic touring schedule with stops at O2 Arena (London), Echo Arena (Liverpool), MEN Arena (Manchester), SSE Wembley (London), as well as gigs in Ibiza, Australia, Dubai, the US and beyond. His tastefully executed remixes have roped him into the inner circle of international heavyweights, having been commissioned by Bruno Mars, Meduza, Imanbek, Icona Pop, and Rita Ora. However, his original creations made him into a certified sensation in his own right, with the platinum “More Than Friends” and the HARLEE-assisted “Afraid” breaking into regular rotation on BBC Radio1, Capital Dance, and KISS100. “You Give Me a Feeling” not only finds common ground between the colossal chart-toppers, Vintage Culture and James Hype, but the effusive collab will permanently attach itself to our collective pleasure point the second it hits shelves today!

    • Alan Fitzpatrick Announces First Artist Album In 10 Years “Machine Therapy” alan-fitzpatrick-feature-oz-edm

British producer and techno legend Alan Fitzpatrick announces ‘Machine Therapy’, his first artist album in a decade. Featuring high-profile collaborations with LOWES, Lawrence Hart, Catrin Vincent, drum and bass star High Contrast and Kele, the frontman of Bloc Party, the twelve-track album lands on Anjunadeep on November 12. “The album is called ‘Machine Therapy’ as, for me, the time I had in the studio was like a therapy session. Particularly with the pandemic; not knowing what was happening, what the future might look like, what might happen in the club scene; being able to get into the studio with no time constraints and just really pour my heart into making music really helped get me through the last year and definitely help keep my mental health in check. It was the perfect opportunity to sit in the chair, switch off from the world and create.” – Alan Fitzpatrick There can be no doubting Alan Fitzpatrick’s position as one of the most influential electronic artists of the moment. A countless back roster of head-turning productions over the past decade has seen the Englishman’s profile continue to transition rapidly from the techno underground towards the electronic music mainstream, attracting significant attention from BBC Radio 1, Mixmag and Resident Advisor and elevating Alan Fitzpatrick to the position of global headliner. When discussing the new album Fitzpatrick stated “I’m really proud of the finished product and to me, it feels like a proper LP; I think you can really hear different aspects of my personality and the emotions I was experiencing during the writing process. Some tracks are full of hope, while other tracks are very emotionally charged and some have quite a solemn feel to them… It’s a real emotional journey of sounds. Obviously, the sound is still very club-focused, as that’s my heritage, my sound, but I feel like I’ve explored the spectrum of electronic music with this album and pushed the boundaries in terms of the musical structure and format that I’m generally known for. I really hope that people can connect with the album on the same level in which it was created.” Available globally from November 12, “Machine Therapy” will be released via Anjunadeep; pre-order you copy here.
