    • Subtronics Confirms Sophomore Album “TESSERACT” subtronics-tesseract-oz-edm

The spiritual successor to “FRACTALS” arrives on February 16th, 2024. Subtronics, the maestro of bass music, has once again embarked on a journey into the realm of unstable particles with the announcement of his highly-anticipated sophomore album, “TESSERACT.” Following the success of his debut album, “FRACTALS,” released just over two years ago, Subtronics is gearing up to unveil the next chapter in his musical odyssey. Scheduled to drop on Friday, February 16th, “TESSERACT” not only shares its name with the bass music superstar’s current tour but also promises to redefine the boundaries of his sonic universe. The year 2024 has already proven to be a whirlwind for Subtronics, who recently announced his fourth Red Rocks takeover, “Cyclops Rocks,” and unleashed his second collaboration with Rezz, titled “Black Ice.” Reflecting on “TESSERACT,” Subtronics expressed his vision for the album as a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution. “I hope [TESSERACT] leaves a long-lasting impact on the listener and the dance music community as a whole. It is truly something I can look back on in 30 years and still be proud of because I know that this is the sound I am truly passionate about, and I really gave it my everything. This album is my second child, more than two years in the making, and I poured everything I could into it.” In conjunction with the album, the team behind Cyclops Recordings has meticulously crafted a bespoke audiovisual experience, perfectly complementing the otherworldly essence of “TESSERACT.” Commenting on the album’s sonic landscape, Subtronics elaborated, “Sonically speaking, I believe this wholly represents my personality and sound as best as I can thus far, with the things I have learned over the years, in conjunction with what I have recently been inspired by. ‘TESSERACT’ is a proper sequel to my first album ‘FRACTALS,’ and in the same sense, I once again aimed to demonstrate my range in style, sound, and emotion. Some songs are meant for the dancefloor, some are meant for the car, and some are meant to serenade you to sleep. I am trying as best I can to create an immersive alternative reality with a magical yet sci-fi-esque world of energy and feeling across the entire spectrum.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Subtronics (@subtronics)

REZZ Unveils ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE’ EP, Showcasing a Captivating Blend of Goth-Inspired Rocktronic Sounds. Renowned Canadian producer REZZ has unleashed her latest musical project, ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE’ EP, a mesmerizing exploration of goth-inspired rocktronic compositions that pay homage to her early musical influences. Released under her own label HypnoVizion, the EP ventures beyond the confines of mid-tempo bass music, featuring collaborations with rock and alternative heavyweights such as Silverstein, Grabbitz, Tim Henson of Polyphia, and Johnny Goth. The focus track of the EP, “Dreamstate,” transports listeners to the realm of massive emo hits from the 2000s, infused with a strikingly modern and heavy bassline that only REZZ could conceive. This project signifies the evolution of REZZ as she confidently steps into her “goth era,” pushing creative boundaries and expanding her sonic palette. Reflecting on the inspiration behind ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE,’ REZZ shares, “With this goth EP, I’ve really encapsulated some of my early inspiration musically before I even got into dance music. I grew up listening to bands exclusively, and over time developed an understanding of what it was about those songs that I loved. Lots of use of guitar, eerie melodies, and distorted basses – this is a blend between sounds I’m known for while also expanding on my range with using new vocal styles & instruments.” Having garnered tremendous success throughout her career, REZZ has amassed tens of millions of streams to date and achieved sold-out performances at legendary venues worldwide. She has headlined renowned festivals including Coachella, Austin City Limits, EDC, Electric Forest, Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, and more. Notably, her collaboration with Grabbitz, “Someone Else,” released via RCA Records in 2020, amassed over 50 million streams, reached #15 on the Alternative Radio Chart in the US, and secured the #1 position in Canada. REZZ’s remarkable live performances have enthralled audiences worldwide, with her five consecutive sold-out shows at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, including two nights scheduled for August 2023. With over 300 performances to her name, REZZ has consistently sold out venues ranging from 3,500 to 10,000 capacity, while also captivating festival crowds of over 50,000 attendees. The ‘IT’S NOT A PHASE’ EP follows the success of previous releases including ‘Blue In The Face,’ ‘Signals,’ and the recent single ‘Embers.’ Through this latest offering, REZZ continues to cement her position as an innovative and genre-defying artist.

Teaming up with DJ/producer AZTECK and vocalist Alex Hepburn, ‘Anybody Out There’ captures the raw, unfiltered energy that has become synonymous with Hardwell’s recent work while infusing an undeniable pop sensibility that is poised to dominate both dancefloors and airwaves this summer. In Hardwell’s own words, “Although my new sound is much harder-edged and techier, I still love the beauty of vocal-based electronic music. Every genre, from house music and trance to electro and techno, has given the dancefloor magical moments through big vocal tracks. That feeling a big vocal song has on a festival crowd is hard to describe, but when that moment comes, it’s intoxicating.” The collaboration with AZTECK was a natural choice for Hardwell, given their previous work together. Recognized for his exceptional production skills and keen ear for captivating toplines, AZTECK’s recent successful releases attest to his talent. Hardwell shares his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Azteck and I have known each other for a while, having previously worked together on music. As his recent run of form proves, he’s a great producer with a fantastic ear for a topline. So, I knew a big vocal collab with Azteck would be a fire release for the summer. But the track needed a specific type of voice to make it work, and the unique raspy quality of Alex’s voice made her the perfect fit for the distorted topline on ‘Anybody Out There’.” ‘Anybody Out There’ holds a special significance for Hardwell as it represents his desire to infuse his new style into a vocal-driven anthem that combines various elements of his sound to create a captivating hybrid track. Reflecting on the process, he explains, “This track is special to me because I’d been longing to repurpose my new style into a vocal-driven anthem that blended other elements of my sound to create a sort of hybrid track. It needed the right emotion in the track, the right chords, and perfect balance in arrangement to fit the current sound.” With its fusion of cutting-edge electronic music and infectious vocals, ‘Anybody Out There’ promises an unparalleled audio experience that pushes the boundaries of live performance. Hardwell’s creative vision, combined with the talents of AZTECK and Alex Hepburn, guarantees an unforgettable musical journey for listeners. ‘Anybody Out There’ signifies Hardwell’s evolution as an artist, showcasing his willingness to experiment and explore new sonic territories while staying true to his core essence. Among the EP’s acclaim, Peach received multiple ARIA Award nominations (Best Pop, Best Video, and Best Artwork), and was also nominated for a 2023 TikTok Award (Music Act of The Year). 2023 also saw Peach PRC traveling the globe, with a sold-out debut headline tour with stops across Australia, North America, and the United Kingdom. With special performances that included a support spot for BlackPink in London’s Hyde Park, Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Spin Off Festival, and more recently Spilt Milk Festival. Before the year came to an end, Peach gave the best gift of all with the release of her latest single, “Like A Girl Does”, which saw her third appearance in the Hottest 100 of 2023 coming in at #81. The rising pop star has already had an unbelievable journey, from writing and recording in her bedroom to social media phenomenon into smart, slick, and sweet songs with a bold bite. Equally funny and sensitive, she holds nothing back when it comes to life’s ups and downs, mental health, and everything in between. She’s already built an audience of 4 million-plus social followers, generated over 1.7 billion TikTok views, 175 million combined artist streams, and attracted acclaim from Billboard, Vogue Australia, BuzzFeed, Consequence, NME, Paper, Refinery29 and more. Launching her TikTok page in 2019, she organically attracted an audience by posting everything from funny moments to self-care advice and, of course, music. Along the way, she carefully cultivated an undeniable style with a twist. That twist defines her debut single “Josh”, the ultimate kiss-off to the worst ex ever and has received over 36 million streams and counting. Peach PRC followed up the success of “Josh” with her self-proclaimed girly camp pop single “Symptomatic”, receiving 12 million plus combined streams to date, and ending 2021 with “Heavy”, which has tallied 22 million plus combined streams. In 2022, Peach PRC released the liberating single “God Is A Freak” and had everyone talking including pop music titans Billie Eilish, Finneas, and Justin Tranter. She followed it up with “Forever Drunk”, where she teamed up with GRAMMY Award-nominated powerhouse songwriter Bonnie McKee. Enter the world of Peach PRC this March/April for her Secret PRC Tour, joined by Sydney-based singer-songwriter, musician and producer, Carla Wehbe, who is set to hype crowds across the country with her nostalgic sounds and catchy pop hooks. • The Midnight Announce 2024 Australian Tour the-midnight-2023-australian-tour-feature-oz-edm

Secret Sounds are delighted to announce that American synthwave band The Midnight will make their return to Australia in February/March 2024, setting stages on fire with headline performances in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. From their synth-heavy beginnings to arena rock chords and infectious pop hooks, The Midnight’s musical journey is one fuelled by insatiable curiosity. The duo lives at the intersection of varying paths, driven by the friction that fires when Southern-born singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle’s all-American dreamer tales meld with Danish-bred drummer and producer Tim McEwan’s cinematic soundscapes. Together, they form something deeper than house, vibier than pop, and altogether more exciting than the sum of its parts. The fan favourite track “WeMoveForward” from their 2014 debut EP Days of Thunder, was created during their very first encounter. The single’s euphoric rhythms, bittersweet synths and Lyle’s romantic lyricism lay the foundation for The Midnight’s signature style, a theme that continued all the way into their latest album Heroes. Infused with dramatic nostalgic streaks, The Midnight’s catalogue weaves its way from their debut LP Endless Summer, with its retro-futuristic feel, to the introspective reflections found in their follow-up record Kids. As they delved deeper into their emotions with the release of their fourth album, Monsters in 2020, their sound expanded and became more vibrant, reaching the Top 30 on the Australian pop charts and No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Created during the isolation of the COVID quarantine, their most recent release Heroes tackled the issue of loneliness by inviting the whole world to dance under one roof, celebrating shared human connection. Infused with slivers of Springsteen, The Police, AC/DC and an electrifying arena rock spirit, Heroes weaves together a fusion of sexy-but-sensitive sing-alongs made to be belted by a room full of music lovers. With the new album, the duo has hit new heights on stage, moving on from club rooms to selling out iconic venues such as London’s Brixton Academy. They have also expanded their live performance by welcoming Lelia Broussard on bass, Royce Whittaker on guitar, and Justin Klunk on saxophone and synth. The Midnight are ready to unleash their live set for fans around Australia next February/March! Presale is available from 9am local time Thursday 21 September. Tickets go on sale to the general public from 9am local time Friday 22 September.
