Drum ‘n’ bass trio Ivy Lab have received more than their fare share of praise and it just keeps on coming. Since the early days of releasing breakthrough tracks such as ‘Live On Your Smile’, ’20 Questions’ and ‘Make it Clear’, Ivy Lab have gone onto become far more than just a d’n’b unit from North London. Their eclectic style and diverse taste have been a driving force behind not only the trio’s highly sought after music, but their revered 20/20 LDN club night too. The night was rapidly described as ‘ultra innovative’ by Timeout Magazine and a ‘London standout’ by Mixmag, after it quickly gained interest and respect from d’n’b fans all over the country and world.
Riding on the success of their newly established event series, the trio went on to launch their own record label under the same 20/20 LDN name. As you could expect, Ivy Lab have been busy releasing an influx of new music on their new imprint, whether that was their own work back in 2015 with the critically acclaimed sixteen-track ’20/20, Vol.1′, or 2016’s ‘Fortuna EP’.
Among a busy touring schedule that has seen them visit everywhere from Amsterdam to Washington State, this year fans have been treated to the trio’s first full solo EP release since ’20 Questions’. The EP, titled ‘Peninsula’, has been their most recent instalment alongside the odd original and remix. Never slowing down, it has merely been a fortnight since their latest offering: a remix for Banks’ single, ‘Fuck With Myself’.
