Brisbane DJ and producer Jordan Burns is back on ASTRX to bring you ‘Blown’. The bass house-infused club weapon features heavyhitting vocals from rising Australian MC I.E. and has been making its way around social media after getting played by Jordan to a huge reception at Grass is Greener, and has since gone on to become one of the most hyped records this year.
“I really wanted to make a track with a really dirty and driving bass line that has my familiar sound,” explains Burns. “While making the initial idea, I was in a session with my guy I.E. and we were just vibing to the groove in the studio. He just started free-styling over the groove and we started recording straight away. A few sessions later I finished it up, and then played it out for the first time in front of thousands of people and Grass is Greener with I.E. on stage with me. The crowd’s reaction to that first drop is something I will never forget.”
Jordan Burns’ signature grimey, bass heavy sounds have become synonymous with the industry’s leading lights including AC Slater, Chris Lorenzo, Chris Lake and The Aston Shuffle – all of whom have been huge supporters to date of Jordan’s string of solid productions. Streaming hits to date include over 5 million streams for ‘It’s Not Over’, and almost 3 million for ‘Weekend’. He’s supported his musical inspirations like Drezo and Tchami, has thrown down heat from the booth of Australia’s best loved clubs including Chinese Laundry, The Met, Ministry of Sound and the infamous Revolver, and has been booked for the festivals he used to love a punter like Listen Out, Groovin The Moo, and the iconic Splendour In The Grass.
Feature artist I.E., a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, emcee, vocalist and producer, has spent the last decade developing his talent alongside friends and peers Dopamine, BLESSED, iam.solo and Manu Crook$ (all members of the same collective working out their studio in inner Sydney). I.E. recently featured on a track with Sydney pop act GRAACE, picking up international attention with over 500,000 streams within the first month of release.
The collab between Jordan Burns and I.E. is explosive and sure to get every dancefloor heaving.
