Let Them Eat Cake NYD Festival 2022 Announced

No doubt it’s been an arduous year for everyone. And with all festivals on hiatus, it foreshadowed an even more testing time for the music industry. But for the Let Them Eat Cake team, that meant regroup and aim to be the first Victorian festival to announce their return. As Let Them Eat Cake director Daniel Teuma explains, there is not much you can do but take it day by day: ‘Yes, it’s been hard. Not doing the festival in 2021 was a real blow for our team. However, we focussed on staying positive by making practical use of this time. We want to ensure this is our best one yet.’

For Teuma and his team, that meant initiating discussions on the current state of the event, a bottom-up re-take if you will: ‘We used the break to fine-tune the festival’s finer points, really assess where we’re at and what we want to do.’ For the upcoming event, that means utilising the beautiful Werribee Mansion space in new and exciting ways. ‘The Mansion grounds are so big. We might try a new layout this year to complement the site better and improve traffic flow. We are also looking at a more immersive experience overall – meaning those who explore might be rewarded with more adventure.’

It’s that very characteristic of the Werribee Mansion grounds, its size, which will ensure this event is out of the danger zone. ‘As it stands, the event is in a great position. We are currently classified as a tier 2 event, which under the current guidelines, allows for 7,500 attendees.’

Even the food vendors this year will be part of a more integrated approach. That means culinary options to enhance other aspects of the event: ‘We’re looking to tie everything together. The overall experience will feel way more cohesive: from the artwork to the visuals to the food.’ Of course, the music is one of the main reasons for buying a ticket. This time around, festival stalwarts Full Throttle Entertainment will once again be employed to install arguably the biggest sound system you will find in Melbourne on new year’s day. ‘The Full Throttle team has never let us down. We pride ourselves on the sound quality at LTEC. Everyone needs an escape from what’s been happening globally: We won’t spare any expense to ensure the sound is 150%. Trust us; you will be blown away by the sound.’

The musical direction had to be approached differently this year due to the many stumbling blocks. However, this was just one more aspect to turn into a positive. ‘With the uncertainty around international borders re-opening, we decided to take a more sensible approach to the lineup. We can’t say too much, but we are confident our 2022 edition will have something for everyone.’

Ultra Japan Unveils Stacked 2024 Lineup
Ultra Japan has announced the first phase of its lineup for the festival’s 9th edition in Tokyo. Scheduled for September 14-15, Ultra Japan will bring some of the most sought-after acts in techno and house music to Odaiba Ultra Park. This year’s festival will feature two stages – the Ultra Main Stage and the Resistance Stage – both packed with electrifying performances by renowned dance music icons. The Ultra Main Stage will host trance legend Armin Van Buuren, electronic music stars Afrojack and Alesso, as well as Steve Aoki. Luude Launches ‘No Instruction’ Label + New Single ‘Fun In The Sun’
Australian breakout drum and bass producer Luude today announces the launch of his new imprint No Instruction in partnership with his long standing management company Cloak, distributed by Virgin Music. The new imprint is about creating legitimate moments for artists using the live platform and global network of the team. Anyma Sells Out Historic Vegas Sphere Residency
Roughly 100,000 people will experience Anyma’s unprecedented, six-night residency, delivering the Sphere’s first-ever electronic dance music shows.
