LUUDE Releases Drum & Bass Remix of ‘Down Under’!

After an outpouring of online support, Australian producer LUUDE officially releases his iconic drum & bass rework of the cultural anthem ‘Down Under (feat. Colin Hay)’! After a year that has seen LUUDE refine his production style, delving into the extravagant world of drum & bass, LUUDE put his talents to work on delivering a festival-ready remix of the quintessential Australian record ‘Down Under’. LUUDE presents a whole new dynamic to the 1980 anthem, which went to #1 in Australia, New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. Utilising the incredible flute skills of Sydney multi-instrumentalist Little Green, LUUDE blesses the record with drum & bass elixir to make it relevant for a warehouse rave, festival stage, or bass haven.

Initially uploaded to his socials after playing around in the studio, the subsequent response was immense with a clamouring of support to have the release available to punters online. In catching word of the influx of love for the rework, Colin Hay gave his blessing for the track to be remixed and expressed his desire to be involved in the remake.

On officially releasing the rework LUUDE said, “When I made this remix for a bit of fun, I never expected it to catch on like it did across the internet. To now be officially releasing it with Colin Hay is just mental – the whole thing has moved so fast, can’t wait for it to be out there.”

On being involved with the rework, Colin said, “‘Down Under’ is a song that’s close to my heart, and it’s been extraordinary to see it stand the test of time. When I heard LUUDE’s remix, I immediately loved it and thought I could jump in and update the vocal. I can’t wait for a new audience of fans to hear and feel the iconic spin LUUDE has put on the song. A song which is ultimately about celebrating the immense and amazing land we have all been lucky enough to experience growing up.”

LUUDE (Christian Benson) has had an impressive career to date, established as a name capable of providing the dancefloor heat and garnering over 30 million streams across his catalogue on tracks such as ‘Right Now’, ‘Sink or Swim’, and ‘Paradise’. His recent ‘6AM’ EP release saw an influx of support across triple j, Pilerats, Life Without Andy, This Song Is Sick, and Run The Trap. As one half of well-respected Australia duo Choomba, he presents the Friday night dance tunes on national broadcaster triple j and has been endorsed by tastemakers such as The Magician, Claude Von Stroke, Richie Hawtin, Claptone, and Riva Starr. On the touring side, the Gold-Coast based artist quickly took hold of the local club circuit, becoming an in-demand name across Australia. An icon of the Australian music scene, Colin Hay rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of ARIA Hall of Fame inductees Men At Work. Responsible for hits such as ‘Who Can It Be Now’ and ‘Down Under’ with their momentous debut album ‘Business as Usual’ certified achieving multi-Platinum certification in Australia, United States, and Canada, and Platinum status in the United Kingdom. Hermitude Drop Drum n Bass Anthem ‘Celebrate’
Hermitude, the esteemed artists known for their incredible musical talent, joins the expanding roster of Dim Mak.
