In a sea of electronic music producers dabbling in heavy, metal infused bass music; one artist stands out from the rest.
Emerging onto the scene in 2013 with a unique take on bass music production PhaseOne founded himself within the dubstep community with a range of remixes and unique originals, forming his own distinctive style by mixing heavy metal elements with heavy-duty bass. After catching the attention of some of the largest dubstep labels created two EPs with the label Firepower Records, he then signed exclusively to Disciple records in January 2017 joining one of the most talked about labels in bass music, where he has since released another 3 acclaimed chart topping EPs as well as a slew of viral hit singles.
2019 marks a big year for the Australian producer as he releases his jaw dropping studio album TRANSCENDENCY.
Announced earlier this month, the fan reactions online and industry talk confirmed it to be one of the most anticipated albums of the year. The new album is good. We’re talking really good. Full of PhaseOne’s signature sound, it’s heavy and in your face from start to finish. Boasting collaborations with Modestep, Northlane, Bonethugs-N-Harmony, Subtronics and even two surprises with Deathcore outfit Thy Art is Murder and progressive metalcore masters Periphery.
Between the heavy riddim anthems and the absolutely wild metal fusions on “Crash & Burn” or “Digital,” TRANSCENDENCY is endlessly impressive. Plenty of the songs have applications for live special guests, while others, like “Demon Hunter” or “Break Em” are made to just overwhelm you.
PhaseOne will be showcase his new album as part of Touch Bass 2019, before taking on the northern hemisphere for the upcoming summer festival circuit. Expect high energy live shows, a lot of pit action and crowds that are ready to throw down.
