Return To Rio has announced an incredible all-star, all-local lineup that’s guaranteed to send chills down your spine at Del Rio Riverside Resort this February 18 -20. Originally scheduled to be held over Halloween, the spooktacular soiree will now be seeing out the Summer of 2022 with a fun-fueled weekend of dancing, dress-ups and classic Rio-reveling.

In celebration of its highly anticipated return, the Rio crew has assembled some of the biggest and best names in dance and electronic music. Leading the charge are Australia’s dance-pop legends, Sneaky Sound System. ARIA award winners, UK & USA chart-toppers and purveyors of some of the finest house/disco/pop crossover hits, Sneaky Sound System are the quintessential summer festival act. Expect feel-good vibes when Connie takes over the mic on the River Stage. Backing it up by bringing the finest disco and house vibes is none other than Adelaide maestro, Late Nite Tuff Guy. DJ extraordinaire and superhero of soul, LNTG is synonymous with the best disco edits in the game. Rest assured, he’ll destroy the floor.

Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Dirty South is also locked in for the Rio festivities. Having dominated festival crowds across the globe since 2004 and remixed the likes of U2, Snoop Dogg and Depeche Mode, Dirty South will be whipping up punters into a hi-octane lather. On the progressive house and breakbeat tip is one of Australia’s most successful underground dance music exports, Anthony Pappa. Revered as “The DJs’ DJ” and master of the mix CD format (see his entries into the Global Underground and Balance series), Pappa is one of the most respected DJs on the international circuit.

Lovers of melodic techno will be treated to the epic sounds of DJ, producer and breakthrough artist Made In Paris. One of the country’s top underground stars and a firm Triple J favourite, Made In Paris certainly won’t disappoint. The All-Day I Dreamers can look to Double Touch for magical electronica blending live keys and organic percussion, backed by the haunting vocals of Reigan Derry (featured on Double Touch’s No. 1 hit ‘Greatest Day’). Also, representing from the All Day I Dream fam, are non-other than Nukreative and Luka Sambe.

Rounding out the top-tier of names on the stacked lineup, Melbourne progressive icons Kasey Taylor, GMJ&Matter and Karl Pilbrow promise plenty of cutting-edge underground sounds. And, for those seeking a little slice of the Balearic Islands down under, Ibiza staple Mo’Funk will deliver with his unique brand of summer eclecticism.

Return to Rio party starter Ricky Cooper comments: “With two years off thanks to COVID, we’re back in Feb for a Rio reunion like no other.  We’ve had plenty of time to put some serious love into this one, so it’s going to be extra spooktacular. After the years we’ve all had, it’s extra important to spread happiness around. We’re asking everyone to get involved in our Random Act of Kindness initiative and are encouraging spontaneous selfless acts to make people smile.”

Only a 90-minute drive from the Sydney CBD, this long-awaited edition of Return To Rio is shaping up to be the biggest and best post-lockdown celebration Sydney has experienced in years.

Return to Rio’s Halloween Weekender will be a COVID-safe event with all local government guidelines being followed.

    • Luude Launches ‘No Instruction’ Label + New Single ‘Fun In The Sun’ Luude Launches 'No Instruction' Label + New Single 'Fun In The Sun' - OZ EDM

Australian breakout drum and bass producer Luude today announces the launch of his new imprint No Instruction in partnership with his long standing management company Cloak, distributed by Virgin Music. The new imprint is about creating legitimate moments for artists using the live platform and global network of the team. Luude shares “we want to throw good parties, put out records we like from people we like and we want to have a good crack at doing all those things as best and big as possible.”  To mark the debut, No Instruction presents its first release, ‘Fun In The Sun,’ by Luude & Perth based producer Harry Bee. The left field club heater has quickly become one of Luude’s most requested songs of the year, with videos of the record posted across ID pages amassing over 3 million views and generating widespread anticipation. The track perfectly encapsulates the essence of No Instruction, it’s a bit weird and made for the dancefloor. Sharing his excitement about the release and the launch of the label, Luude shares “I’m really happy to be launching this imprint with a collab featuring one of my best mates from Australia – having an outlet to do things like this is sick. We’ve got some mental records coming from some of my favourite producers,  some parties around the world, we’re doing vinyl and just going back to doing things for the club, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.” Cloak, the management team behind No Instruction, emphasises the label’s mission to embrace creativity and innovation, “people told us this was a stupid idea, launching a new imprint by releasing a collab with one of Luude’s mates from back home – with some pretty high-profile collaborations that could have been first. But being able to do things like this is what this label is about. The fact that it’s been one of the most requested tunes of the year for Luude is testament to the fact that buzzing records can come from anywhere.” In addition to its innovative approach to music, No Instruction will launch with a series of underground parties across the UK, Europe and Australia throughout 2024. The inaugural event, a secret pop up party at a very coveted London location, will kick off on July 31st, featuring performances by Luude, Bushbaby, Efan, Willo and Denham Audio. Australian producer Luude has firmly established himself on the global stage with back-to-back hits like ‘Down Under’ and ‘Big City Life,’ which have sold millions of copies and earned multi-platinum certifications worldwide. His achievements include an ARIA award for Best Dance Release, a nomination for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award, “Best International Artist” at the 2022 Drum and Bass Awards, 3x BBC Radio 1 Hottest Records, and multiple platinum, gold, and silver certifications. Luude’s relentless touring and dynamic performances, including his recent sold out run with Chase & Status across Australia and New Zealand, have cemented his status as one of Australia’s most in-demand artists. Luude & Harry Bee’s new single ‘Fun In The Sun’ is out now on No Instruction. Follow No Instruction across socials for info on all upcoming shows and releases.

    • Cercle Introduce 360° Concert Series with Immersive “Odyssey” Concept Cercle Introduce 360° Concert Series with Immersive "Odyssey" Concept - OZ EDM

Cercle Odyssey to Offer a No-Phone Experience for Deeper Audience Connection The esteemed Parisian production company and event organizer, Cercle, is set to unveil an innovative concert series under the title “Cercle Odyssey.” Imagine entering a vast concert arena where you are encircled by enormous screens. These screens, towering up to 40 feet high and stretching as far as 180 feet, envelop the audience with high-definition visuals that harmonize seamlessly with the music. This setup is designed to make attendees feel as though they are part of the performance, rather than mere spectators. To enhance audience engagement and foster genuine connections, Cercle Odyssey will implement a strict no-phone policy. This decision aligns with a growing movement within the electronic dance music community, where many prominent artists and organizations are advocating for increased presence and interaction during live events. Scheduled to debut in 2025, Cercle Odyssey aims to bring its unique, immersive experience to dance music enthusiasts worldwide. According to Billboard, this 360° spectacle promises to draw fans closer to the distinctive experiences that Cercle is known for offering. “My current obsession is to create the shortest connection between the music played by the artist, the video narrative that we will present live on the screens, and the audience’s emotions,” said Derek Barbolla, Founder of Cercle. “I want to connect these three things together at the deepest level and I believe this is still underdeveloped in the entertainment industry. If, by the end of a Cercle Odyssey show, I see people on the dance floor literally moved to tears, then I will consider it a success.” For more information about Cercle Odyssey, watch the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMoaFnrCQQA
