Roni Size is one of the few artists who took on the challenge (and succeeded) of building a live show around the unforgiving genre that is drum’n’bass. A true veteran of the game, Roni’s rise to fame was propelled by the release of his ‘New Forms’ album in 1997. The album was a monumental boost for d’n’b and with it’s release it landed the genre straight on to the doorstep of music news channels globally and of course… it also made plenty of people sit up and pay attention to Roni Size.

Last year was just as big as any for Roni. It played host to a jam-packed touring schedule with headline and festival shows essentially on tap. To pick a few from the bunch, he featured at Ram Records’ NYE show at O2 Academy Brixton, BBC 6 Music festival, Love Saves the Day, Secret Garden Party, Glastonbury, EDC, Frequency, Creamfields – and plenty more. In 2017 we’ve already seen Roni play the 5th Annual Moonshine Music Festival, another Glastonbury, Soundwave Croatia and Sonnemondsterne.XXI.

To acknowledge the 20th anniversary of ‘New Forms’, the album will be re-released to include a deluxe 4CD/2LP reissue. The release also includes a ‘New Forms’ 20th anniversary live hardware mix assembled by Roni which features remixes and re-edits from drum’n’bass legends Grooverider, Source Direct, and Krust.

In celebration of ‘New Forms’, Roni has announced an epic eight-date NZ/AU tour. The show will include a ‘new A/V experience which promises a combined instrument and hardware show featuring state-of-the-art projection mapping in the form of a ‘light box’’.

Roni Size’s whole life has been about building something new from whatever was around him. From Bristol youthclub parties, through the white heat of rave and the founding moments of jungle and drum’n’bass, to transforming underground electronic music into something that could be played by a live band on the biggest arena and festival stages, he has at each stage created completely afresh – not just a sound or style but an entire methodology of how music can be made. And each time, that new creation has reflected his heritage, his surroundings and the precise moment in which he’s operating.

20-years ago, The Mercury Prize win for his ‘New Forms’ album brought D’n’B to the forefront of dance-music news, making even the rest of the industry – where reactions had up until that point been bemused – sit up and pay attention. For several years thereafter Roni and team were on top of the world, succeeding as solo artists as well as a collective, maintaining underground credibility yet receiving Brit awards and even collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip hop.

2016 was a vintage year for Roni. Live shows included Ram Records’ NYE show at O2 Academy Brixton, a headline show at the BBC 6 Music festival and a summer festival season that began at Love Saves the Day with a curated Full Cycle Stage Takeover for Arcadia Afterburner and included Secret Garden Party, Evolution, Glastonbury, Blissfields, NASS, EDC, Dour, Boomtown, Frequency, Lowlands, Creamfields, SW4, Outlook, and many more. Roni relaunched Full Cycle Records with fellow co-founder, DJ Krust, with the releases drawing praise from The Wire, Dummy, UKF, Mista Jam, 6 Music, Gilles Peterson, Radio 1, 1Xtra, DJ Mag and beyond.

It is now in 2017, as we fully appreciate the legacy that Roni has created for drum’n’bass, that the next chapter begins. Roni has announced UK tour dates featuring his groundbreaking new audio visual live show, a combined live instrument and hardware show that features state of the art production and 3D effect projection mapping celebrating 20 years of New Forms. Roni will be taking this groundbreaking live show on the road as well as DJ’ing at the very best clubs and festivals throughout the globe… and watch out for some very special surprises along the way!

The man from Bristol shows no signs of letting up, as 2017 looks set to be one of his best yet.

    • Luude Launches ‘No Instruction’ Label + New Single ‘Fun In The Sun’ Luude Launches 'No Instruction' Label + New Single 'Fun In The Sun' - OZ EDM

Australian breakout drum and bass producer Luude today announces the launch of his new imprint No Instruction in partnership with his long standing management company Cloak, distributed by Virgin Music. The new imprint is about creating legitimate moments for artists using the live platform and global network of the team. Luude shares “we want to throw good parties, put out records we like from people we like and we want to have a good crack at doing all those things as best and big as possible.”  To mark the debut, No Instruction presents its first release, ‘Fun In The Sun,’ by Luude & Perth based producer Harry Bee. The left field club heater has quickly become one of Luude’s most requested songs of the year, with videos of the record posted across ID pages amassing over 3 million views and generating widespread anticipation. The track perfectly encapsulates the essence of No Instruction, it’s a bit weird and made for the dancefloor. Sharing his excitement about the release and the launch of the label, Luude shares “I’m really happy to be launching this imprint with a collab featuring one of my best mates from Australia – having an outlet to do things like this is sick. We’ve got some mental records coming from some of my favourite producers,  some parties around the world, we’re doing vinyl and just going back to doing things for the club, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.” Cloak, the management team behind No Instruction, emphasises the label’s mission to embrace creativity and innovation, “people told us this was a stupid idea, launching a new imprint by releasing a collab with one of Luude’s mates from back home – with some pretty high-profile collaborations that could have been first. But being able to do things like this is what this label is about. The fact that it’s been one of the most requested tunes of the year for Luude is testament to the fact that buzzing records can come from anywhere.” In addition to its innovative approach to music, No Instruction will launch with a series of underground parties across the UK, Europe and Australia throughout 2024. The inaugural event, a secret pop up party at a very coveted London location, will kick off on July 31st, featuring performances by Luude, Bushbaby, Efan, Willo and Denham Audio. Australian producer Luude has firmly established himself on the global stage with back-to-back hits like ‘Down Under’ and ‘Big City Life,’ which have sold millions of copies and earned multi-platinum certifications worldwide. His achievements include an ARIA award for Best Dance Release, a nomination for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award, “Best International Artist” at the 2022 Drum and Bass Awards, 3x BBC Radio 1 Hottest Records, and multiple platinum, gold, and silver certifications. Luude’s relentless touring and dynamic performances, including his recent sold out run with Chase & Status across Australia and New Zealand, have cemented his status as one of Australia’s most in-demand artists. Luude & Harry Bee’s new single ‘Fun In The Sun’ is out now on No Instruction. Follow No Instruction across socials for info on all upcoming shows and releases.

Releasing a track together is a beautiful full circle moment and we’re both in love with the track.” And Alison Wonderland says “Dimension and I met back in 2020, and we always talked about doing something creative together. We finally did it, I love this song, can’t wait to play it live and see people’s reactions. Dimension is a force to be reckoned with and I’m excited.” ‘Satellite’ is Dimension’s first new music of 2024 and follows his recent performances across the United States as part of the acclaimed, sold-out Worship North America tour and stand-out solo set at Ultra Music Festival.
