To welcome the news of Eric Prydz returning to Australia early next year for Electric Gardens, it appears the festival promoters have delivered more pleasant news for the 2017 festivals.

Joining the Swedish mastermind on the tour will be none other than Sasha, Jamie Jones and Basement Jaxx.

Grammy Award nominee, four time International Dance Music Award winner and four time DJ Mag award winner, the legendary SASHA is a man who needs no introduction! If there are boundaries yet to be broken, then you can bet that Sasha has got them in the crosshairs. He’s been battering them down since Shelley’s, The Hacienda, Renaissance and Twilo; from Airdrawndagger to Invol3r. Since 2011, he’s carved a new way with his increasingly pivotal Last Night On Earth imprint, the label that has introduced into its family fiercely forward-thinking producers like My Favourite Robot’s James Teej, Simon Baker, ThermalBear, Ejeca, Ghosting Season, Max Cooper and Knox. Boundaries out of the studio have been equally unsafe. Taking over with his Last Night on Earth parties around the globe, Sasha has brought nothing but the finest line-ups to clubbers around the world. Last summer he hit the world-renowned Space Ibiza with a monthly LNOE residency, which showcased the likes of Scuba, Catz & Dogz, Heidi, Magda and of course Sasha himself.

There is no denying that JAMIE JONES is well on his way to international stardom! In just a few short years he has become widely regarded as the pioneer of a new sound of house and, along side his label, Hot Creations, credited with the emergence of a warmer, more melodic side of techno. Jamie’s constant touring schedule takes in every major city and festival around the world; including such spectacles as Glastonbury, Timewarp, and Burning Man, as well as highly esteemed clubs like Warung, Fabric, and Womb. His weekly Ibiza party, Paradise, has completed two huge seasons at DC10 and goes into its third year as the fastest growing night on the island. This success has meant that Paradise has been offered stages at some of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals, such as Tomorrowland, Global Gathering, Kazantip and BPM.

Surfacing from the underground house music scene of the late 90’s, the two times BRIT award winners and global chart toppers, BASEMENT JAXX will be bringing their high energy, distinctive DJ style to the stages of Electric Gardens festival in 2017. After 20 years, 7 albums and hit after hit that steamrollered through the charts, Basement Jaxx are the seminal funk monster that keeps an audience (young or old ) partying all night.

The three names who are synonymous with electronic dance music will be traveling with Eric Prydz to Sydney, Melbourne Brisbane and Perth next January / February.

If you haven’t already secured your tickets head to the Electric Gardens website here.

Australian dance maestro Odd Mob continues his upward trajectory with the release of his latest EP, “Club Rompas,” following the success of the peak time anthem “XTC.” Having already wowed crowds at Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, and various clubs across Australia, New Zealand, and the US, Odd Mob draws inspiration from his global dance floor experience, crafting a collection of tracks perfectly suited for both intimate rave caves and massive festival stages. The EP opens with the already acclaimed single “XTC,” a club stomper that has received support from industry heavyweights such as Dom Dolla, Sarah Story, and Chris Lake. Odd Mob shares his inspiration for the EP, stating, “‘Club Rompas’ does exactly what it says on the label. It’s meant to hit you hard in the club and make you dance! This EP came together after my first post-COVID tour in the US, spending 24 hours in Chicago where I collaborated with Birthdayy Partyy for the first version of ‘Underground.’ That same night, I met Basura Boyz, who later sent me some fantastic one-liners that ended up in ‘Blisters On My Feet’ and ‘Guest List.'” With an exceptional year in North America, including two successful tours and a Coachella debut, Odd Mob has established himself as a versatile artist behind the decks and in the studio. His expertly crafted tracks have earned praise from top DJs worldwide, including John Summit, Skrillex, Diplo, and Oliver Heldens. “LEFT TO RIGHT,” his iconic club hit, received monumental support before its official release, while “Been Dreaming” caught the attention of BBC Radio 1’s Sarah Story. Tom, Jimmy (Bob Moses) and I got together just a handful of times to write ‘Do You Want Me’. This record came together so quickly. We instantly had a vibe together and just had fun in the studio. The song feels like a great representation of both of us. It’s definitely a dream collab for me. I hope you love it.” Bob Moses on “Do You Want Me”, says: “We’ve known Hayden for a bit, and of course have been aware of his work since well before he gave us his killer mix of our track “Back Down” (which we still play all the time btw). We had thought about working together before but somehow never got around to it. But just like that, the window opened and this track quickly came to life out of a few sessions in LA. Hayden is a lovely guy, and we had fun with the process. Hope ya enjoy.” The arrival of “Do You Want Me” is Hayden James’ first for new music in 2023, and follows the release of last year’s album LIFTED. Hayden James previously added his re-work to Bob Moses’ track “Back Down” and now both artists gear up to celebrate their latest single with combined shows in Vancouver and New York next month, having recently road-tested the single at Michigan’s Electric Forest festival a few weekends go. Since breaking out in 2013 with “Permission to Love” and going on to release revered platinum certified hits “Numb” feat. GRAACE, and “Just Friends”, the producer has continued to be at the forefront of the Australian house music scene, carrying on his run of hits with his ARIA-nominated debut album Between Us in 2019, and 2022’s sophomore record LIFTED, which boasts over half a billion streams and was debuted at last year’s Coachella to a packed out stage, before he launched into a North American tour. He then toured across Europe, before landing back in Australia to play his largest headline shows here to date, gracing iconic venues such as Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, and Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall. His production mastery on tracks like “Waves of Gold” feat. Azteck as well as “Right Time” with Icona Pop has also landed in the international spotlight, receiving love from Zane Lowe on Beats 1, triple j, as well as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME and many more. • Arky Waters Releases New Single “Back To You” arky-waters-feature-oz-edm

Arky Waters caps the year off with his new single ‘Back To You’ featuring the vocals of Jade Alice. This marks Arky’s first collaboration with another vocalist – Jade’s dream pop roots and catchy hooks move with the emotional depths of the track, capturing us through the tender and darker moments. “We made this track around COVID times, I sent her a DM and I honestly didn’t expect a reply, she ended up being open to working with me even though I had nothing out at the time. I sent over an idea that she vibed with and she sent back the hook that’s currently on the track. Once I heard that hook I basically ended up crafting the song around the vocal. For our first time working together it went super smooth; she’s talented as hell. I’d been a fan of her stuff for a while so it was cool to finally make something together.” The track is paired with a four part visualiser made by upcoming Sydney artist Don Kaiyote; the collaboration explores themes of young love, heartbreak and loneliness. “The most important part of this project was to make something that felt close to us – we wanted to capture beauty in something that was quite real and ordinary, something we’ve all felt before.” The video takes us through the journey of young love as a person of colour growing up in western society, diving into the complexities of the modern-day “situationship” and the feelings that revolve around that behind closed doors. Arky Waters is a Sydney based artist exploring his early love for indie/folk with the electronic textures of rave music. Starting in 2020,it began as an outlet from his usual work with alt-rock band ‘Silvers’, and soon blossomed into its own project as he found his feet in production. The songs act as a soundtrack to his life growing up in the suburbs of Australia, bridging the gap between indie/folk songwriting and the pulse of electronic music.
