UK drum & bass superstar third solo album set to feature CamelPhat, Dimension and Gene Farris, among others.
Renowned drum and bass artist, Sub Focus, has disclosed the upcoming release of his latest solo album, “Evolve,” through EMI in May. The album features an array of notable collaborations with prominent figures in dance music such as Dimension, CamelPhat, and Gene Farris. With a fitting title, the 14-track album offers a nostalgic journey to the ’90s, delivering a series of inspired tracks to satisfy fans of the genre.
“Having grown up in the ’90s, I was inspired to channel elements of my musical evolution over the course of this album,” Sub Focus revealed to NME. “From dance acts that introduced me to electronic music like The Chemical Brothers through to the early hardcore and jungle music I was discovering back then.”
Over the course of his career, Nick Douwma aka Sub Focus has risen through the ranks of underground jungle to become a global dance music superstar. First building a reputation around air-punching, dancefloor-dismantling drum & bass, he now draws from all corners of the electronic landscape – epitomising the ‘anything goes’ mantra of today’s scene.
