Producer, DJ, label head, former international breakdancer (yes, really), full time funny man… Gold Coast-bred party-starter Wongo is no one-trick pony. Now from the ashes of dancefloors that have been decimated around the world, Wongo is here to sweep us off our seats and onto our feet with his new tech house banger ‘Danger Zone’ featuring The Melody Men – who are actually a multi-faceted female writing and production duo out of London. ‘Danger Zone’ is the first taste of Wongo’s upcoming ‘Colours’ EP, set to drop in 2021
Wongo explains how ‘Danger Zone’ came together: “Teaming up with one of my biggest inspirations, Mickey Kojak, as well as the sick vocals of The Melody Men, this record came together pretty smoothly. Good ol’ fashion fun with a sprinkle of how the f*ck are ya.”
With a big few years under his belt, by now you’ve probably already cut shapes to Wongo tunes. His production CV includes originals like ‘Mars’, ‘Tic Toc’, and ‘Caught Up’ as well as his hit parody record ‘I’m The DJ’ which featured star Dr. Fresch in the Hollywood Hills music video. 2019 found Wongo officially remixing Confidence Man, Client Liaison, The Knocks and Dom Dolla as he keeps a strong hold on being the ‘go-to’ guy for remixing.
And as for The Melody Men, this duo has amassed millions of streams online and is working with some of the biggest and best artists and labels out there and as demand grows for their unique talents. The London based duo has a burgeoning list of co-writes to their name having scored recent cuts with numerous doyens of the dance scene. Cuts by the likes of Mark Knight (Toolroom), Bontan, Kideko, Mason and Tough Love have all been graced by The Melody Men top lines and vocals.
With early support coming in from The Aston Shuffle, Oliver Heldens, A-Track, Anna Lunoe & more, get set to fly into the ‘Danger Zone’ with Wongo and The Melody Men out today.
